A Pokemon that needs 13 levels to do anything useful is not a good ingame Pokemon. Its a terrible ingame Pokemon in fact.

Even as a Litwick it can pick its targets pretty well, specially in the Ice gym. Insta-KO on every Cubchoo, 2HKO on the Vanillishes, 3HKO on the mirrors who don't do anything in return but spam Acid Armor.

Since the VS Seeker does not exist on this game, how do you level up your Pokemon once you have defeated all the trainers in the game? Fighting against wild Pokemon and the Elite 4? Or is there in fact a way to rematch trainers?

Audino/Tabunne grinding. TONS of EXP.

E4, and in Ramion City, there's those Stadiums with high-level pokes. And Audino grinding, of course.

My possible team so far:

Tepig, Panpour/Hiyappu, Drillbur/Moguryuu, Joltik/Bachuru, Ferroseed/Tesshiddo, ???

Types covered: fire, fighting, water, ground, steel, electric, bug, steel, grass
Missing: normal, flying, poison, psychic, rock, ice, dragon, ghost, dark

Tepig was my favourite starter design-wise, although I'm still impartial to its evos...anyways, Hiyappu can run four HMs, three with STAB. Doryuuzu is a personal favourite, along with Galvantula and Ferrothorn. I still need someone who can run Fly and Strength. I'm noticing a weakness to Ground, so I'll probably opt for some sort of flying/levitating Pokemon for my last.

Ice gym is a long way to wait considering you get Litwick before the 6th gym. By the time you get to the Ice gym, the game's pretty much over. I think Litwick is more of a lower-mid Pokemon.

Only 3 pokes can learn the combination of Strength and Fly:
Golurk
Braviary
Sazandora

Since the last two are only available very late, your best option would be Golurk. Braviary is also good if you have the patience to train it to level 54(I think it evolves then) Oh, and I just noticed you want Tepig AND Panpour. Not possible. You get Pansage as a gift. You could go with Swanna, then you also have Fly, which gives you more room for Strength. You also have that nice Ground resist. Just saw on Veekun that Ferrothorn can learn Strength, so no worries about that. IF you follow this you have:

Tepig/Ducklett/Joltik/Drillbur/Ferroseed
For the last spot, I'd go with Sandile/Axew/Vanillite(with this one you'll have a big Rock type weakness though)/Mincinno/Solosis/Gothitha(depending on the version you use)

(edit: It is actually possible to get all 3 monkeys. They have a 10% chance of appearing in shaking grass in Pinwheel Forest)

Just got my Tepig from American White.

It's Adamant with a 31 Attack IV.

*mischevous smile*

I can tell this will be fun.

just got my seventh badge(easiest gym in the game)and i think i won't add any more members to the team:
galvantula lvl 40(modest yeah)
darmanitan lvl 42(lonely)
samurott lvl 41(bold)
scrafty lvl 40(mild)
lampent lvl 43(rash)

how soon do you get shadow ball?i have my dusk stone and i want to evolve my lampent but if i don't get the tm soon enough i will have to train him to level 53 i think?and i really need to evolve it...

You get shadow ball at b2f of ancient castle(the dungeon with the sand pits in resort desert) according to bulbapedia. You probably get there when you are following N around and searching for reshiram/zekrom, and thats before the e4.

It's in Relic Castle; I'm fairly sure it's pre-E4.

You'll get the TM in the next area you visit, actually.

Just finished up 5th gym in my current JP White.

Skyla is so going to rape me however, unless I catch a Zebstrika nearby. My team is horribly Flying-weak. (Dewott, Throh, Petlili, Darumaka, Whirlipede, Scraggy and Solosis are my main team members)

Dewott-Modest(trololol special attacker)
Throh-Adamant(win)
Petlili-Rash(at least it is still +SpA)
Darumaka-Naive(+Spd, can't get worse, really)
Whirlipede-Hasty(lolmixScolipede)
Scraggy-Mild(urgh, but still ridiculously bulky, so I'm not complaining)
Solosis-Modest(epicness in its extreme)

Farfy has Stick to help improve his offense. Purrloin doesn't, as she is like still stuck with Scratch when Lillipup and Patrat already get BITE, and by the time Purrloin gets Pursuit, Lillipup would've evolved and Patrat should be close to getting Crunch.

HORRIBLY OUTCLASSED. BENCH.

Hm, my current team has all three... It would be nice if Purrloin could use Crunch/Bite itself rather than having to rely on Assist.

Purrloin also seems to be a crit magnet. On three seperate occasions I've been in the situation of "Okay, I'll definitely win this fight. Unless they get two crits in a row." And, yeah, double crit from them.

But you can get the Thief TM earlier than you get Pursuit, so Purrloin does have a useful STAB attack quite early on. Still, pretty outclassed...

When does BW come out in Singapore, and why have you barely advanced in you JP version?

Judging by a quick look at this tier list I have determined the theoretically best possible in-game team (semi-requires White version if you want the plant):
Mijumaru (Starter)
Yooteri (Dog at Beginning)
Moguryuu (Swirling Dirt in Wellspring Cave)
Dageki (Blue Guy outside Forest)
Churine (Forest? White Version Only)
Shinborra (Desert Resort)

Darumakka (Route 4, Desert Resort) Switch with dog, plant or blue guy?
Meguroko (Route 4, Desert Resort, Relic Castle) Switch with mole, plant or blue guy?

Humorously, you can complete it with by Desert Resort. O.o

My game so far.

I haven't really posted much on this forum, but this game is so compelling I just must post my thoughts so far.

First of all I noticed pickup (the ability) has changed, if the foe uses its held item your pokemon will also get the item. I discovered this with one of the initial battles with Cheren back when I had a Lillipup.

More interestingly, you can now check what your natures actually do to your stats without having much knowledge of each nature. If you look at your pokemons stats you may see two stats highlighted. One in blue and one in red. The stat in red is raised whereas the stat in blue is decreased. For example my traded cottonee I received in a trade is modest, therefore its special attack is highlighted red, wheras its attack which is lowered is highlighted blue, when I say highlighted its actually quite hard to notice upon a glance so I just wanted to spread what I have learned really.

Too all those who already noticed, bear with me.

Anyway onto my Great Britain white team!
(You should all know the names by now I hope, cause im too lazy to post pictures)

Just so you all know, Im about to challenge the Third gym.

Victini - Lvl 16 - Brave. Ability: Victory star

So, for all those with wifi, you have probably picked up this legendary pokemon. Its slightly behind my team in terms of level, and I havent had the chance too use it much thus far.

I usually dont use legendaries, so If you guys can think of a good replacement in my team please help me!

Pidove - Lvl 20 - Quiet. Ability: Super luck

Ok, so I doubt many of you use this guy, but i personally like her. Not because she's good in battle, I just like the design :). Anyway special attack is boosted which is actually quite nice early game because of Air cutter.
My strategy thus far is Superluck + Aircutter + Scope Lens = Hax :). Will replace if you can think of a better replacement to balance my team a bit.

Roggenrola - Lvl 20 - Jolly. Ability: Sturdy

Im not a big fan of Roggenrola, he's served his use at the normal gym, and even then Throh and Timburr meted out death to all the normal types. However, I think you can get the flying electro squirrel who's name escapes me by trading Rogg's evolved form, confirmation would be nice.

Cottonee (Fluffee) - Lvl 22 - Modest. Ability: Prankster

I love this pokemon! When I traded my lili-thing for this I was a bit reserved. However Fluffee has shown upon many battles, that Leech seed is a force too be reckoned with, definitely keeping its place on my team! Also to all those who picked Snivy, you are missing out! ("Blows raspberry in your general direction".)

Dewott (Wottson) - Lvl 21 - Quirky. Ability: Torrent

My starter, an all rounder. Never really shines but is always consistent, but he's my starter so he keeps his place on my starting six no matter wott! :)

---The Dilema---

Ok so to all those who have put the time into reading my post I give you my thanks, however I have one situation which I cannot decide on my own. The sixth spot.

The contenders:

Timburr - Lvl 21 - Jolly. Ability: Sheer force

Timburr has been a force to be reckoned with. He was overshadowed by the amazingly powerful Throh at the normal gym. However he is yet to evolve and still has potential. It would be a shame to drop him but ill do whats best for the party! (I can get his last form, I have friends :).

Scraggy - Lvl 17 - Jolly. Ability: Moxie

So I wanted to check out the desert and I chanced across this weird looking pokemon. It looks as if he let his Gran shop for clothes in Primark and things didnt go so well. I caught it, and then realised it was a fighting and dark type. That means I can only use him or Timburr!

Throh, sadly suffered from Bad character design (BCD) and was rushed off to my PC box. Unfortunately it was terminal :(. (Excuse my humor)

Anyway, if you liked my post, tell me. If you didnt, tell me!

I would, much much much appreciate it if you could help me with my dilema, and also tone up my main party into a force to shatter the elite 4+1.

Regards!

Another fighting type option for you would be to go back to Pinwheel Forest and look for a Sawk; but they're pretty hard to find. (The one I found was wearing a Black Belt, though, so, result!)

Its typical that I would miss out on something everyone already knew Kokoakiwi :P.

Yeah I have heard that Sawk is good. Its not my cup of tea though. I just want to decide between the two I mentioned but Im so indecisive. :/

Thanks for the info about the black belt however Showsni! Ill go back and thief it.

Playing through White and....PanSear is just terrible :/

Do I need Cut for anything else aside from getting to the area with all the Munna? I want to box this thing.

Btw, Munna is just great. Good bulk and Psybeam just wreck everything.

I also don't get why these are the "worst starters" when all of them pretty much rape everything. There's no real Meganium here.

Oh, and was I the only one who got haxed in the 2nd Gym?
Damn Watchog OHKO'd my Dewott with a critical hit, but thankfully Timburr 2HKO'd it with Low Kick ;D

I'm off to the 3rd gym.

I presume they're the worst starters because most people think that they're heavily outclassed. However, it's hard to make that case for anything but Snivy TBH (outclassed 100% by petilil; at least Tepig gains fighting STAB and has a nice movepool and the ability to use Nitro Charge while Samurott is water type and not specifically outclassed).

Munna is doing similarly well for me; I chose it over Reuniclus. In the pinwheel forest, it has a bit of trouble with the ever-present bug types, though.

After about 30 or so minutes of grinding Tepig to level 17 to evolve it, I was able to sweep Striation town's gym leaders. Same goes for Nacrene (Yawn with Munna while it leers, go to Pignite as it bites (iirc), use Cheer Up, OHKO with Nitro Charge, OHKO with Arm Thrust, win)

And no, you don't need cut except for that one tiny plant in the Dreamyard. Just use Reshiram/Zekrom for HM slavery postgame (no I'm serious they are actually the best HM slaves to be found normally; they learn all of the normal typed ones and fly to boot)
