International WiFi Tournament -International Challenge- WON BY Cybertron

we should probably avoid complaining about d/c'ers as much in this thread

hopefully tpci will be able to see what's going on and take care of those guys

i get that it's frustrating but it doesn't really help anyone to whine about here in a way that's not respectful toward other players

People will complain anyway and regardless, complaining about disconnectors could do nothing but help. This thread is meant for feedback on the tournament. Revealing any one person disconnecting will help others to become aware of that person. Nothing we could really do about it even if we know that person is disconnecting but like you said, hopefully TPCI will take care of that.

Also, someone disconnecting when you won is the biggest disrespect and slap in the face, ever.

Finally broke 1800. 43 wins, 2 losses (to Matty85 and Havak), and 16 disconnects right now. Cybertron plays too much Pokemon.

1810 right now.

lol

I currently have 1720 with 25-3, which I'm dissapointed with to be honest lol. The first battle came down to stupid plays by me really as I threw away 2 chances to win. The second loss was gay, it came down to like 5 50/50 predicts. The third loss I lost latios t1 to a scarf heracross which I really should have seen coming to be honest and it was lost from there. Oh well lol
Highlights so far have included a very good game against PenguinX.

I keep missing little nukes and crannies in the way I play that make me lose 1-0 it's getting annoying.
Also some american person dc'd on screen.

*forgets* onto the next match.

I'm going to stop for now, it's getting late-ish. I've done a total of 41 battles (38-3) at the moment. I don't know what kind of rating I should be aiming for though...

When I was finishing a frustrating session a few hours ago I closed my DS on one person before the battle finished so sorry about that if they're here, I shouldn't have - they won fair and square - my attention just wasn't there. I've just done a few more now, but the disconnecting seems worse at this time.

Just had a nice battle with a Japanese player with a rain team and a similar rating around 1750... It does seem that a lot of people disconnect even before the battle starts, let alone at the end. Maybe we're all going to be disqualified anyway, haha - or maybe they'll just raise the threshold.

Rating: 1818
Won: 48
Lost: 4

I might stop for tonight, but I can see myself getting into bed in about an hour and then playing some more until I fall asleep. I have already given up hope of being listed on the leader board when it comes to it, so I'll just see how high a rating I can achieve (I've had around 30 in-battle DC's and probably about 5 where the battle hadn't begun yet). Also, I've had my own connection fail during the sending process twice, after games I'd won as well... >_<

Currently 24 - 3 with around 26/27/28 DCs. My first loss was against Havak where I got completely outplayed on the first 2 turns that was difficult to come back from despite some misplays by him in later turns too. My second loss was against 7014gree, which was difficult because we know eachothers teams really well from lots of practising against eachother. He made a good play turn 1 and left Latios in against my Salamence that he knew was scarfed as I Dragon Clawed his other Pokemon allowing him to get up Tailwind, with the game finishing with a 1-0. It was pretty much a 50:50 call that I got wrong; had I Dragon Clawed the game would have been completely different. These were both ggs!

My 3rd loss was against Showsni. A Zen Headbutt miss turn 1 really set me back, as did a turn 2 Rock Slide flinch preventing me from burning Garchomp's Yache Berry with Hidden Power [Ice], which came into play a couple of turns later. Despite this I was still confident I had the game won, as he has a -1 Spd Garchomp and a Latios in against my Rotom-H and Metagross. The plan was to Protect with Rotom-H to avoid the incoming attack from Latios and Meteor Mash it with Metagross and then clean-up with Scarf Salamence, but I misclick and Protect with Metagross instead of MM as he sets up Tailwind with Latios. The best I could do was switch around resistances to potentially stall out Tailwind and get SAtk drops on Latios so that Salamence can take a Draco Meteor, but I fail a double Protect with Rotom-H meaning it gets KOd that turn, leaving me with Metagross and Salamence against his 2 dragons in Tailwind. All I can do is pray he misses a Draco Meteor with Salamence, KO his Garchomp with Dragon Claw and then Meteor Mash Latios for the win, but Draco Meteor connects and I lose the game thanks to a little hax early game and my own inability to press buttons on a touch screen :/ The video code is 67-49391-88411 for anyone who wants to watch.

Managed to break past the 1800 mark by defeating a 1721 rated Japanese Player named Shigeru which turned out to be a pretty tough battle. I've been doing pretty well so far today, with my only loss today to my good old friend, Scarf Terrakion, and even then it was due to the opponent pulling a consecutive protect to stall out my Tailwind so they could Final Gambit KO my Garchomp.

My record is full of multiples of 5 at the moment:
60W - 10L - 15 D/C, 1807

Won against Superpokemon67 in a ridiculously good match. GG! (this brings my total record against smogonites to 2-4 9.9)

Faced a guy (girl trainer) called prog
(I'm sure i know who he is, prog-something-frog or something like that)

Was a sun-rain weather war and I won 3-1 as he graciously forfeited because his nintailes was left alone in the rain. GG's to (her?) him.

Speaking of trick room teams, just faced a guy who was screaming trick room, but ohko'd his reuniclus and then swept away really.

His glaceon fucked me over, i missed every attack at K.O range -_-... Now I know how that guy who faced garchomp felt...
I believe that was me (Jordan from Washington state). In the back of my head I thought that *maybe* glaceon could dodge everything and pull out a win...and then by some twist of fate it actually happened. I think that's the most attacks I've ever seen it dodge in a single battle. I felt kind of bad because you should have won; you had me outplayed in every possible way. Ah well...

:/ daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamit. Ah so it was you, oh well, it's pokemon, stuff's bound to happen. GG's too.

I've been browsing this topic for a while, even though I'm not really into the competitive scene. I just entered the tournament for fun, and I like hearing the stories.

But I sometimes Google the names of my opponents to see if they can be found online, and I was led back here! I fought JRank. I was Erich from California.

I feel bad getting that critical, but I feel good winning against such a strong team! That was an interesting battle!

Just lost to possibly Sapphire Birch (<3Csmugs) in a pretty haxy battle with two Zen Headbutt misses tht mattered

Brings be to 26-4

I have 1678 but it needs to be updated.
