To be honest, I never really finished Black but I do remember enjoying it immensely, more so than Gen IV which was my favorite competitive scene.
B-but, dude. What about Emerald? Emerald > everything.
And I'll be sure to check out the Smog later, I'd love to contribute sometime although I should probably wait a bit before submitting ideas for articles to get a general idea of what's going on... maybe grammar polishing or HTML if I have time, yeah.
Yeah, honestly, the speed creep and the way the average attacking power increases at almost an exponential rate every 'gen quite frankly blows my mind. And thanks, haha, I never really learned to condense. That's okay though, because my one-liners are more epic than Saul Goodman's.

If you need any help with that then there's always Battle 101 and the Competitive Tutoring room on Pokemon Showdown. That and you can always PM some more advanced players on where to begin. If you need help, it's all here is the point. Have fun. :]
Hello, Im new here. :) Im a typical 15 year old player i guess. Im pretty skilled in singles and such but I do Battle Spot Rating battles when I do play and such. I usually do OU battles and Im willing to expand up to Ubers and UU and probably RU :P

Hey guys I'm new, looked at Smogon for awhile now, but just decided to make an account and really get into the community. Looking to learn a lot more about competitive battling, have been in some online comps, but didn't do amazing. I mostly enjoy making unorthodox builds for pokemon just for fun and see if the work well or nah.

Great you decided to join! You can PM a mentor to get 1 on 1 help with improving your competitive skills, and you can visit the "Competitive Tutoring" room in Showdown as well. I also like to be 'original' with my teams, as it makes the game more interesting. Anyway, if you need any other help, try the Help form. Otherwise, have fun!

I have played pokemon more or less since the Gen 2. During the third gen I was very interested in training great pokemon but lost my interest in the fourth gen. I had breed so much... I did not want to do it anymore. Fourth and fifth gen were a bit too dark for me – I like more colourful landscapes and more lively music. Also, pokemon like bidoof scared me of: 'is this the direction pokemon is going?' I thought. Changes to breeding in the sixth generation has inspired me to try again, and also, the hope of battle frontier returning.
A lot has changed between third and sixth gen and there are many gaps in my knowledge of items and moves.
Battling has interested me, though I don't think I'm very good at it. But here I am to learn!

Yo, people! Just joined today, although I have been lurking on this website since the X and Y metagame started. Been dabbling in competitive battling, mostly VGC, but I enjoy Smogon's tier system. So I thought what better way to get more involved than to join the site and start learning more about it. I currently am enjoying UU the most. So I guess I will see you guys around the boards.

ORAS was kinda disappointing to me, even with the new and exciting megas, so I stopped playing, but kept lurking around here. You could visit the "RarelyUsed" room in Showdown for some ideas on building your own teams. You could also try the "Competitive Tutoring" room, and/or PM one of our RU mentors. Same with UU. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, have a good time!
Sup~ name's Chaotic, 19. I've had this account for about a month(The time I write this) decided might as well put to use since I made it right? anywho, I'm sorta new to the whole competitive concept. I'd say i'm fairly amateurish at battling, hoping I can find some more battles here to improve(and commentating battles for Youtube)and hell who knows a couple friends along the way.
