I think pernicious wrote a very sound post. I also read that paste bin link and I agree 100%
Whoever used the term poo-fight made a big mistake. What will the outside world think about pokemon comunities now?

a fairly minor incident involving one piece of shit wrapped in tissue

honestly, the crime of throwing poo around is only marginally worse than the act of taking a shite in a hotel room and then leaving it in the hallway for somebody else to deal with. when you're a guest in that building, and indeed a guest in that country, then that's grounds for elimination from the tournament in my eyes. the media uproar about 'poo-fights' merely added insult to injury.

i feel kinda sorry for Ruben if what he says is true (that he took the blame for a friend) but you know how the old saying goes...

Shit happens.

This is why I don't go to actual tournaments. I wouldn't go so far as throwing actual poop, but I do tend to cause quite a scene around the house after a particularly humiliating defeat.

I would also like to know if this is some thing that is acceptable in Spain or whatever, some sort of cultural misunderstanding, or was this some sort or random act of stupidity on Ruben's friend?

I've been wanting to go to Spain for a while and would like to know if I ever have to deal with FECES NAVIDAS!

Didn't lock this in VGC just to get discussion here largely from people who don't know anyone involved. Now that we've moved on from puns to comments from the peanut gallery we're done with this thread.

Some dudes did a prank they shouldn't have because they didn't think about their situation and TPCI will deal with sorting out facts and punishments from there.

it's not that they restrict players in the US from going to different states for regionals - just that if you compete in one regional, it locks your trainer ID or something and you're unable to register in another regional. WHICH would be a great rule for europe too.

sure, but the assumption behind different is that people are already competing in their own vgcs

unless you're made of money and see some strategic advantage, that is

i'm not going to reopen this, but i do think we could benefit from discussion in a different thread about the soundness of the current attitude to cross-nation vgc participation

here's a hint for anyone that read the god-awful pastebin -- opposition isn't "racist"!!
