It's her battling skills.

See, everybody else just plain-out sucks, has a Pokemon and doesn't use it, or is named Officer Jenny or Nurse Joy.

For the anime, Jessie's IQ is actually higher than average, and has above average battling skills.

Above-average battling skills? I like Jessie (and I find Team Rocket infinitely more interesting than all of the "twerps" combined), but I don't see how her battling skills in the anime are meant to be above average, since her Pokemon invariably get beaten to a pulp not just by Pikachu, but by practically any Pokemon that happens to be defending justice at the time.

Abomasnow's Diamond 'dex entry. The last line is:
It is the abominable snowman.
I laughed when I saw this one. It lives on a snowy mountain, and it's name is Abomasnow. It's sort of obvious. The first thing I thought when I saw this was a new entry for Bulbasaur:
It is a dinosaur with a bulb on its back.
That last one I can actually imagine happening at some point.

Two things I think of that make me laugh/think:

Why is it, that whenever you do something important, no one is around? >_>;;

I mean, when you win badges/beat the elite 4/catch an uber, no one is usually around to see it. I mean, in everygame the professor says he is sorry for missing you become champion. >_< Thanks for the support.

And another thing is: "Chinchou just evolved into Lanturn!!!!"
"Lanturn wants to learn Swallow.... Erase another move so that it can learn swallow?" ....... eheh..... >_>;;

funnies?

when i started my game, i named my character madonna and her rival jesus, so the opening dialogue was like

"Madonna! Jesus was looking for you!"

like a prayer, jesus will take you there (to lake verity of course...)

It's the Seviper that sucks. Look what happened when they got Charizard and Aggron...okay, bad example. They still got their butt kicked.

I take back the battling skills part.

Jesse above average IQ? Remember how she tried to "Download" info?

Huh? Don't remember that.

Team Rocket had plugged in their laptop to that of some whizzkid near Azalea town. James and Meowth planned to download all the info from his laptop to theirs so that they would know which trainer has good pokemon. Jesse's idea of downloading was to tug the cord between the two laptops to "download" the entire laptop.

It's not fair to use Pikachu as an example, considering it's been leveling up for ten seasons, while Seviper barely levels at all because it never wins battles. However, Jessie can't be a very good battler, considering her seviper, at least Lv. 15, got owned by a Bubble attack coming from a Lv. 5 Piplup. Meanwhile, we've got random kids using Caterpies and Squirtles beating an experienced trainer like Ash. Weird, huh?

If anything makes me laugh about Pokemon, it's that in the anime, everything explodes if it hits Team Rocket. Seviper and cacnea fly into them? Explosion. Water Gun hits? Explosion. Someone throws a rock and it hits them in the foot? Explosion. And they always seem to fly hundreds of feet into the air. How can they breathe up there?

Ah, but there is so much more. They get hit by bubbles? Explosion. A snorlax yawns on them? Explosion. James drops his bottle caps? Explosion.

What the hell was up with the Aerial Ace Starly? Don't they learn it at like 25?

I hate when Electrics use Electric moves on Ground Types and knock them out. "Aim for the Horns Pikachu!"

Hey, you gotta love "Guts" and "Dedication". I mean, come on. You all saw in the newer episodes. Azumarill was fighting the rock leader.... it lost to a geodude that used pretty much one move. Rollout. -_-

It makes me want to go train a diglett. He would own everything. >.>

One of the grunts says "Cosmic energy for the win!" Also, somebody elsewhere says "A winner is you!" Clearly the localisation team are not unfamiliar with internet culture.

Good topic though, the sheer inanity of the NPCs has always been my major motivation for interacting with them; they're never less than charming. I'm not sure any particular expression this gen has matched the sheer brilliance of "I like shorts, they're comfy and easy to wear!" from Red and Blue. You do wonder if its those kerrazy japanese, or an idiosyncratic translation team.
I also like the Juggler in Koga's gym

"I DROPPED MY BALLS!"

*how I remember this 7 years after I last played the game is a mystery. I know a bunch of hidden item locations and shit, but I can't f*cking remember whether I needed flash for Mt. Moon >_<

Simple. It's a hacked piplup.

One of my favorites that I didn't see in this topic was the Galactic Grunt who says something along the lines of, "You need the key to get anywhere in here! I'd love to do the whole incompetent henchman and tell you where it is, but I'm not important enough to know!"
