Shell Smash Mega Barbaracle will have to wait until Champions to be a menace I guess
I'm curious, what am I missing? Skarm's my favourite mon as well, and I'm having a hard time seeing the stat spread as much other than doing away with the defensive, hazard-oriented playstyle that's what I like about the mon.omg Skarmory is my favorite Pokemon for like 25 years+ and I cannot believe they not only gave it a Mega but gave it an amazing stat spread. Can't wait to play with... NOT in Legends ZA won't buy the game it sucked during trying it in Gamescom.
Earth Power has also been given to Grass-types before (Venusaur has is!) so it's not even a stretch for Meganium to keep the move going forward.True, but for Meganium specifically, it is a starter with a new Mega. Dazzling Gleam and Earth Power were probably added mostly because it needed STAB and because its special movepool is otherwise barren without it. Its Sp.A increase is sizable and would have gone to waste if all it could use with it were Normal, Grass, and Fairy moves.
These are two moves I'm confident Meganium will be keeping in Champions.

Its a fast spiker with good bulk so you could maybe do something with a set like Taunt Brave Bird Spikes Roost, with a lot of hazard removers not wanting to switch in due to strong brave Bird and it outspeeding and taunting other defensive Pokemon. Im not sure it will be successful, but it having high speed and special defense is at least a nice boon. It helps its getting knocked off 90% of the time anyways so there isnt really much mega opportunity cost in running the mega stone.I'm curious, what am I missing? Speaking of Skarm, do we have a model for Mega Skarmory yet? I've seen the icon for it on the icon sheet but not screenshots or modelsomg Skarmory is my favorite Pokemon for like 25 years+ and I cannot believe they not only gave it a Mega but gave it an amazing stat spread. I'm honestly more curious of what the abilities will be in Champions.True, but for Meganium specifically, it is a starter with a new Mega. Don't get too Hyped about this.I’m very intrigued by the re-introduction of Heal Block in this game. It’s a move that was part of the original move culling back in SS, and now not only does it return in this game, but SV had even brought back its effect through Psychic Noise. Not just that, but the original message when using Psychic Noice even name-dropped Heal Block, as seen in the SV trailer that introduced it.
this is like expedition 33 levels of incredible..
Me searching every datamined battle theme trying to find Emma's motif (it's not here but this is absolutely beautiful so)

A pivoting tool is nice, but MSableye suffers more from its typing being underwhelming defensively with only one resist and two relevant immunities. It's still really passive with minimal damage output. It might see use outside stall on some really specific fat balances but that is it.Mega Sableye getting Parting Shot could be the buff it needs to be OU in Gen 10 given it was not used that much in Gen 7. Offensive powercreep was huge in Gen 7 in conjunction with Mega Sableye's nerfs in burn damage being halved and Mega Evolution happening at the start of the turn, but having Parting Shot could help Mega Sableye reduce its passivity issues.
A lot of those megas are on the line of "this will be good if it gets X ability, low tier trash otherwise".
Es, Meganium is dead in the water if it keeps Leaf Guard, but has insane potential if it gets a real defensive ability like Magic Guard, Regenerator, or Clorophyl, or anything actually useful.
Starmie is going to be awful unless it gets Huge Power or equivalent.
