LEVEL 7: JABU JABU'S BELLY

So yeah, here's a new Ubers RMT. I played OU for a while, and then UU, but Ubers is really my home.

Shrang's new mission: Popularise Choice Specs Palkia. Seriously, why does no one use that thing?? He has the "I have Base 150 SpA Draco Meteor" to brag along with Dialga, but also has "I can 2HKO Blissey with a special move" to play with Kyogre. Seriously, he is the fusion of those two, and while Blissey can easily switch into Specs Dialga, she can't with Palkia, while Latias can't easily switch into Palkia when she can with Kyogre.

Yeah, so I played in one of the #Stark Cups and decided to try something different, which was the mighty Choice Specs Palkia. It worked really well, totally catching people off guard, who mistakened it for the usual Scarf Palkia. "Oh wait how the hell does Palkia 2HKO my CB Scizor with Draco Meteor". Yeah, you get the drift. If you ask what a good Specs user in Ubers is, you'll hear "Kyogre". Well of course, SpecsOgre is a monster. You ask if there are more, people will say "Dialga". Any more?? "Um, I dunno, Heatran in the Sun??" Yeah, that was made up, but no-one even considers Specs Palkia, who by the way is deadlier than all of the Ubers Specs users, in my opinion. I'm not going to say much more now, because I'm going to expand on this in Palkia's description. Yeah. So how to get Palkia used more?? Simple. Make a team with it and get a high leaderboard spot and hope people read the RMT, lol.
The team is based on one of the coolest Zelda dungeons ever, the 7th dungeon of the Oracle of Ages, Jabu Jabu's Belly. Sure, it has the same name as the one in Ocarina of Time. This dungeon is awesome because IT'S ALL WATER (Except the top level, but whatever). The music for it is pretty epic too (Apparently it was supposed to give you a hard mindfucking while you try to solve the dungeon's puzzles). If you want to listen to it (And maybe bring back some memories), here it is:

[Tyranitar][Kyogre][Garchomp][Scizor][Palkia][Wobbuffet]

Yeah, so this was the original team for the #Stark Cup, which was hastily made. The idea was to both weathers running. When it was raining Palkia Hydro Pumps for the lols and when Sand was up, I would try to set up SD Chomp, with possibly some help with Wobb. However, it was kind of crappy, it had no Ground switch-ins whatsoever, so yeah.

[Tyranitar][Kyogre][Garchomp][Scizor][Palkia][Shaymin]
So I decided to solve my Ground-weakness by trying out Shaymin. Not Skymin, Shaymin. Wobbuffet was meh on the team anyway. Basically, the reason I used Shaymin and not Skymin was "because I can", and I wanted to just test Shaymin (Also because she was bulkier and not SR weak, but whatever). It was slightly better, since it had a Ground-resist.

[Tyranitar][Kyogre][Garchomp][Jirachi][Qwilfish][Palkia]
Here is where I started to try and support Palkia as much as possible. This is also where I started spamming CB Chomp in tandem with Specs Palkia and it went really nicely. However, I still had Tyranitar in my team because I was a stubborn ass and really liked it (I mean why wouldn't you, he beats pretty much every lead, can come back later and eat Lati@s for breakfast and etc). However, it finally took a weird Machamp lead (I hate that thing) to convince me to get rid of TTar. I also sniffed a Toxic Spikes weakness, and Palkia and Garchomp hate Toxic Spikes. I didn't want to use Forretress again, he was useful, because he completely slowed down the momentum. Giving up Rapid Spinning, I decided to add a Poison type to my team and found Qwilfish. I never looked back =D.

[Metagross][Kyogre][Garchomp][Jirachi][Qwilfish][Palkia]
So yeah, Machamp got to me, and I finally switched out TTar. Metagross came in as the "Beat all leads while setting up SR" Pokemon. However, I went back to a very Ground weak team again (Same as before), so yeah, I had to change something. I was also getting curbstomped left and right be Lati@s, so not cool.

[Giratina-O][Kyogre][Garchomp][Jirachi][Qwilfish][Palkia]
After thinking long and hard, I decided to swap out Metagross for Giratina-O. It fit perfectly. Here I have a Ground immunity, and since my team has quite a bit of entry hazard abusing, a Spin blocker!! Perfect.

THE TEAM IN DETAIL:

487.jpg

Long Switch (Giratina-o) @ Platinum Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 Atk/196 Spd/64 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Sneak

Description/Moveset: I hate Deoxys-S leads. I seriously do. The only time I like them is when I'm abusing it and get up 2 layers and sweep with something. You will notice every one of my Ubers teams (Except my Ho-oh team, but that has Forry in it) has a thing for defeating Deoxys-S leads immediately. Giratina-O was also the newest member of my team. He can beat a lot of leads, Spin-block and be a great Ground immunity. G-O checks a lot of dangerous Pokemon too, such as RP Groudon, Lati@s at lower health, Mewtwo at lower health and BEATS THOSE STUPID DEOXYS-S LEADS. It also stops Forretress leads from being annoying too, since HP Fire takes care of them. With SR and Toxic Spikes going up later in the match, Giratina-O makes sure the opponent never gets any reprieve by blocking Rapid Spin, making sure Palkia gets maximum fist-punching time. The moves are just standard Spin blocking Giratina-O moves. Draco Meteor and Outrage hurts everything that doesn't resist it, while Hidden Power Fire roasts Forretress and Scizor, common Dragon resists. Shadow Sneak takes down weakened Lati@s, Mewtwo, DEOXYS-S LEADS, Deoxys-A and just "almost dead" Pokemon in general.

Giratina-O vs Top leads:
Ani386SMS.png
Deoxys-S: Shadow Sneak twice
Ani382MS.png
Kyogre: Bail. I'd normally go to my own Kyogre to probe its set, then see how much damage it did. I would then respond accordingly
Ani483MS.png
Dialga: Ew. Go to Jirachi to take the Draco Meteor, then set up Stealth Rock. If it carries Fire Blast, I would go to Kyogre (-2 Fire Blast doesn't do much, heh)
Ani386AMS.png
Deoxys-A: Shadow Sneak twice
Ani491MS.png
Darkrai: Ew. Go to Kyogre to take the obvious Dark Void. Trick will fuck me up a lot, though.
Ani151MS.png
Mew: Mew can't do much against me, so I can just patiently chip down its health with Shadow Sneak.
Ani383MS.png
Groudon: Draco Meteor twice does a lot. I could also go to Kyogre.
Ani205MS.png
Forretress: HP Fire
Ani384MS.png
Rayquaza: Go to Jirachi to take the Draco Meteor, then switch to Kyogre for the Fire attack.
Ani487OMS.png
Giratina-O: My lead is generally faster than other Giratina-O leads, since they run Fireburn's spread. I'd just go out attacking.

EVs/Item: Well Griseus Orb in default, since Giratina-O won't be G-O without it. The EVs are standard G-O Spinblocker EVs. 196 Spe with HP Fire allows Giratina-O to outspeed Adamant SD Rayquaza (Jolly ones have a noticeable power drop). 248 Atk allows Giratina-O to hit very hard with Outrage and the rest go into SpA. If you're wondering I'm not using the lead EVs that Fireburn came up with in the OP of the Uber Leads thread, I chose normal EVs so G-O has better mid-game utility (The lead ones are 252 Atk/216 SpA/40 Spe Lonely). With the standard EVs, G-O can check your Adamant SD Ray, your RP Groudon much more easily than with the Lonely set.

Name: The Long Switch is the key item in Jabu Jabu's Belly, which allows you to switch places with an item that is far away. There isn't much reason why I named G-O this anyway, probably the only reason is that G-O is "long".

385.jpg

Rolling Sea (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Ice Punch / Protect / Thunder Wave

Description/Moveset: This was originally Scarf Jirachi, but with entry hazards and Draco Meteors flying everywhere, Jirachi without SpDef investment and recovery gets whittled down faster than I thought it would. He was also unbelievably weak. I also needed a Stealth Rock user now that I had replaced Metagross with Giratina-O. So, I decided to relegate all that to Jirachi, and he does that quite well. He can switch into DMs and only take about 30% now, and set up Stealth Rock, Wish support and a whole bunch of things. With Wish, Giratina-O's lack of recovery is alleviated a little bit, while my Choice users will find it useful too. Stealth Rock is pretty much obligatory these days, and it will especially be important because Palkia does not 2HKO Blissey with Leftovers without SR. U-Turn is there for scouting and Wobb escaping (Whom I would go immediately to Giratina-O to lay waste on Wobb), and also dents Lati@s enough on the switch to Giratina-O for him to pick off with Shadow Sneak. A slow U-Turn is good because I can let Jirachi take the abuse (Which he can take a lot of) and my counter come in unharmed (Unless it happens to be Focus Punch, lol). I originally had Body Slam in the last spot to paralyse stuff, but since I put Thunder Wave on Kyogre, it became kind of redundant. Ice Punch can kill Ray, Chomp and Mence stuck in Outrage for me, which is a huge plus. Thunder Wave can be used if I decide to use Calm Mind on Kyogre.

EVs/Item: Leftovers are there because Jirachi can heal, obviously. Max HP and max Special Defense allows Jirachi to take Dragon moves like a champ, Wish it off and be an ass at the same time. A Careful nature increases this.

Name: Again, I had to name Jirachi SOMETHING, and since stars have a circular sort of look when seen from far away, "Rolling" was fitting. The Rolling Sea is the 7th Essense of Time you get in Labrynna and the reason for entering Jabu Jabu's Belly in the first place.

382.jpg

Jabu Jabu (Kyogre) @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 240 HP/232 Def/36 Spd
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunder Wave / Calm Mind

Description/Moveset: Well, Kyogre makes this team work. Rain boosts Hydro Pump for Palkia, allowing him to muscle past Blissey, it allows Qwilfish to be faster than everything and it reduces Fire attacks on Jirachi. Thunder Wave also catches those damn Lati@s that I keep suggesting in my team rates. Basically, this is the "Tank" set with Thunder Wave replacing Calm Mind/Ice Beam/Thunder/Roar/Toxic. I saw mtr QC this (kudos to him), and it's worked pretty well. I could have used the Thunder Wave lead set, but this set allows Kyogre to check Darkrai as well as stick around for a long time. It worked really nicely. With the EV spread, it can check RP Groudon pretty well (As long as it's not SD/RP, in which case I'm in a lot of trouble). Surf is STAB, Rest is recovery, Sleep Talk lets me cripple Darkrai with Thunder Wave or kill it with Surf. Thunder Wave is just awesome for more offensive teams, hehe. I can easily switch to Calm Mind if stall decides to come back up in usage, but for now I'm sticking with Thunder Wave.

EVs/Item: Again, Leftovers are really cool because Kyogre can take a bite and regain health. The EVs are just standard mono-attacker EVs, 240 HP gives you a Leftovers number, while 36 Spe is used to outspeed standard Ho-oh. The rest are plowed into Defense so Kyogre can take heaps of physical hits (Incidentally, I've 2HKO'd a Salamence with Surf thinking they can set up on me, which is pretty awesome. +1 Outrage fails to OHKO, hehe).

Name: Well, Kyogre is this team, pretty much. Without Kyogre, this team is poop. Without Jabu Jabu, the 7th dungeon won't exist, since you're swimming inside him to get the Rolling Sea. Jabu Jabu is a massive fish. Kyogre is a massive whale.

445.jpg

Boss Key (Garchomp) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide

Description/Moveset: Garchomp is the glue, I guess. Originally, I had SD Haban Chomp here, then I decided to try out CB Chomp. It was really cool, 2HKOing heaps of would be opponents (And with Spikes support from Qwilfish, OHKOing a lot of them too). However, people starting spamming Scarf Palkia AND Lati@s (I mean, what?!), so CB Chomp wasn't getting as much fun any more. Scarf Chomp came back to kill both easily, and this was especially important because my whole team hated Lati@s. This did open me up a lot more to Stall, though, although Stall isn't as common at this time and Palkia is still there to smash down Stall anyway. The moveset is again, standard. Outrage is the main STAB, although Dragon Claw is used more early game so Chomp doesn't have to lock himself in. EQ is the other STAB, for hitting Steels. Stone Edge is really filler and can get Ho-oh. Seriously, I really can't find another reason to use Stone Edge (I could just use Rock Slide). It hits Lugia, I guess.

EVs/Item: Scarf to outrun a lot of the tier. Max 252 Speed and Jolly nature gets the jump on DDers not named Kingdra, while Max attack is for max attack, I guess.

Name: I seriously did not know what what to call Garchomp, but the Boss Key is a relatively important item in any Zelda dungeon, so yeah, Chompy ended up being the Boss Key. Crappy, I know.

484.jpg

Plasmarine (Palkia) @ Blindfold (Yea, it's Choice Specs)
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Dragon Pulse / Spacial Rend

Description/Moveset: I really intended this thing to be my MVP, since I built the team around it. However, it's not, and basically, the reason is the reason the item is "Blindfold" and the reason I'm forced to use Dragon Pulse instead of Spacial Rend. Basically, it's because PALKIA MISSES LIKE A FUCKING HOBBO.

Warning: rant ahead
<rant>It's so ironic that I give the thing a pair of specticals and its accuracy goes DOWN. Seriously, relying on this Palkia to win a game for you is worse than relying on Gengar to Focus Blast his way to victory. There have been SO many times where Palkia could have completely wiped something like Dialga off the map on the switch with Draco Meteor and missing. But that's okay, I'll just do it again. Guess what, Palkia misses again. So yeah, Palkia fails me, even though I built the whole team to accommodate it. Buh. </rant>

Anyway, with that off my chest, Choice Specs Palkia is a fantastic Pokemon. I'm going to go as far as naming him the most dangerous Choice Specs user in the game. The reason?? Absolutely NOTHING, with the exception of Shedinja, can switching in without thinking twice. Something like Specs Kyogre, you can easily stick Latias in front of him and not worry, Specs Dialga, you can stick Blissey in front of him and you're done. However, you can't do any of that crap with Specs Palkia. To put this in perspective, Hydro Pump in the rain, boosted by Choice Specs, does 43.71% - 51.53% to standard Ubers Blissey, and that is a 60.16% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock. No longer your nice safe switch any more. If I add Toxic Spikes to that, Blissey is only living if Palkia does a blindfold like he always does and misses the 2nd Hydro Pump (Which isn't unlikely, I guess). Okay, why am I being so hyper about this when Kyogre can do exactly the same thing?? Let's turn our attention to Kyogre's counters now. Latias and Palkia?? BOOM OHKO'd by Draco Meteor. Ludicolo and Quagsire?? Not a chance. Have I got the awesomeness into you yet?? Hopefully I have, because against Specs Palkia, it really IS a prediction based switch, even when you know the set, while if you know Kyogre is Specs'd, you can switch in Latias, when you know Dialga is Specs'd, you can switch in Blissey, and so on. The moveset is rather simple. Draco Meteor is there because it hurts everything, even your Steels, who take 50%+ from a single attack. Hydro Pump rounds out the coverage by 2HKOing Blissey and OHKOing many of the Steels that switch into DM in the Rain (I mean, it does 70%+ so some variants of Dialga, so yeah). If you avoided my rant, the reason Dragon Pulse is used over Spacial Rend is above. It also has more PP than Spacial Rend, so that's a bonus too. I mean, Latias, Dialga and other Dragons get by just fine with Dragon Pulse, why not Palkia?? If he can't control his unique weapon (Missing with Spacial Rend, which happens more often than it should), then he shouldn't be allowed to keep it. I would run Surf instead of Thunder too, because Palkia really doesn't need the extra coverage, but ever since I introduced CM Manaphy to everyone I'm really paranoid of people using it against me. CM Kyogre would cause me trouble too if I don't use Thunder either.

EVs/Item: Well Specs is obvious, since it is the reason this team is here. The EV spread is basic. Max Special Attack to hit VERY hard, while max Speed is there to outspeed things, duh. I'm not using Modest (Which 2HKOs Blissey 100% of the time with Hydro Pump) because one of Palkia's main attractions is its Speed. Wasting that would be bad.

Name: Plasmarine is the boss of Jabu Jabu's Belly. Even though Plasmarine is probably one of the easiest Zelda bosses ever, he's still the boss of the dungeon and Palkia is supposed to be the boss of the team.

(No-55057-Qwilfish).png

(Yeah, they didn't have a Human-Qwilfish pic, so that's kinda sad)
Angler Fish (Qwilfish) (M) @ Splash Plate
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Destiny Bond / Explosion
- Taunt
- Toxic Spikes / Spikes

Description/Moveset: While Palkia is supposed to be the star of the show, this tiny thing is my actual MVP, partially because of the contents of my rant. However, Qwilfish is not merely named MVP just because of Palkia's shortcomings. He can pretty much do EVERYTHING (Apart from Stall, but since when has Qwilfish ever been a staller??). I'll just name everything Qwilfish can do first, then I'll explain. He can absorb Toxic Spikes which fuck up a lot of my team. He can set up hazards which ensure Blissey's demise against Palkia (And ensures the opponent gets very uncomfortable too). He can stall break by Taunting enemy Lugia and all that jazz. He can revenge a fast opponent like +1 Salamence/Kingdra in the rain with Destiny Bond. He can even sweep late game when your water resists are gone (Which is relatively easy, since Palkia absolutely smashes through them). I'm only worried that when I set out to sell Specs Palkia, I'll end up selling this Qwilfish set instead (Hopefully everyone would still spam Specs Palkia because it's awesome). Basically, this Qwilfish is a jack-of-all-trades, but master of them all. Okay, how does Qwilfish do all these things?? Absorbing Toxic Spikes is simply a matter of switching in. Setting up hazards sounds hard to accomplish (And it is against offensive teams), but against balanced and stall, he can easily switch into a wall not named Groudon and set up Toxic Spikes at will (And he can Taunt the wall). Qwilfish can easily switch into Lugia and stuff like that, Taunt it, set up Toxic Spikes and Destiny Bond when his time is up. With Water-resists removed, Qwilfish can literally spam Waterfall in the rain and clean up if need be. Just a quick figure, Waterfall in the rain 2HKOs ScarfChomp (And outspeeds). So yeah, this Qwilfish is great, and I was about to write an analysis on it until I spoke to Theorymon about it and found out he's already done it, lol. Waterfall is the primary STAB, Taunt stops setup and stalling, while Toxic Spikes makes the opponent's life difficult. The reason I'm not using Explosion is that Destiny Bond can kill more things, for example Giratina-O, which is a big threat to Qwilfish. It also catches Groudon off guard (I mean who runs Jolly Groudon, seriously), clearing the way for Rain.

EVs/Item: The EVs are simple. With Max Speed and a Jolly nature, Qwilfish reaches 590 Speed in the Rain, which outspeeds Choice Scarf Shaymin-S (Which I could just lol and Destiny Bond if I want to). The rest go into Attack to make Waterfall hit hard. Splash Plate is used, since the only attack I have on Qwilfish is a Water-type attack, and the difference between it and Life Orb isn't very big, and I like to keep Qwilfish around if possible.

Name: Angler Fish is the mini-boss of Jabu Jabu's Belly. While another easy boss, Qwilfish fits the name because i) He is a puffer fish, and the shape is similar to an angler fish, and ii) Qwilfish is pretty much the 2nd most (If not THE most important) Pokemon on my team outside of Kyogre.

So yeah, here's my team, threat list coming up shortly.

P.S. Anyone wondering where I got the Human-Pokemon pictures, they are located here: http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y113/SZubuza/Human Pokemon/?start=400

Threat list (Stolen from my Freeza RMT):
Normal threats in black, annoying threats in Orange and major threats in Red

Main threats:
MDP382.png
Kyogre – Palkia takes care of pretty much everything Kyogre. I would go to my own Kyogre just to probe if it is Thunder Wave or not.

MDP383.png
Groudon – RP ones are sent packing by Giratina-O and Kyogre, while Qwilfish can surprise kill it with Destiny Bond. Support ones aren't very threatening.

MDP384.png
Rayquaza
– ScarfChomps take care of most Rays. SD ones can be taken care of by Giratina-O if they are Adamant, and Jolly ones won't do enough to Garchomp. Mixed ones will find it hard to get past Jirachi as long as it has DM'd once (Thanks Jibaku).

MDP484.png
Palkia – Pretty much all Palkia are revenged by ScarfChomp. Jirachi can switch into pretty much everything except Surf and laugh at it.

MDP483.png
Dialga
– Jirachi walls special versions in the Rain, while physical ones aren't THAT threatening. Specs DM will take out pretty much EVERY Dialga unless it is REALLY heavily invested in bulk.

MDP150.png
Mewtwo – Giratina-O can handle most Mewtwo. Kyogre can Surf or Thunder Wave it, Qwilfish can revenge it at low health.

MDP202.png
Wobbuffet – Isn't going to be too much trouble, although is very annoying.

MDP487.png
Giratina-O – Jirachi handles all that don't carry Earthquake. Palkia can OHKO if I can get it in easily (Usually off U-Turn from Jirachi)

Trozeiani386.gif
Deoxys-S – Shadow Sneak twice

MDP491.png
Darkrai – Kyogre takes care of most Darkrai. Can also be revenged by Garchomp or Qwilfish in the rain.

MDP445.png
Garchomp – Pretty much prediction. Jirachi switches into Outrage without fear, and Earthquake means Giratina-O can take it. Kyogre is usually bulky enough to live one attack and severely hurt it. Non Haban Chomps are revenged by my ScarfChomp, while Haban ones need a bit of playing around.

MDP380.png
Latias – Jirachi switches into Dragon Pulse, ScarfChomp revenges it, Giratina-O can silence her if she's around 50% or so.

PinRS381.gif
Latios – See Latias

MDP250.png
Ho-oh – Must keep Rain up at all times. Garchomp can revenge with Stone Edge. Giratina-O can hurt it a lot. Cannot wall Palkia like it normally does either, hehe.

MDP492.png
Shaymin-S
– Jirachi can handle most Shaymin-S unless it doesn't 6 turn flinch me or something.

MDP212.png
Scizor – SD Roost Scizor is annoying if there are entry hazards flying around (Especially Spikes). Giratina-O heavily damages it with HP Fire, Palkia OHKOs with Hydro Pump while Kyogre heavily damages it with Surf. CB is not bad.

MDP151.png
Mew – Baton Pass is annoying, but isn't going to like eating Specs Hydro Pumps in the rain, even with Light Screen up. Qwilfish outspeeds standard BP Mew and Taunts in the rain (Which is fucking awesome). Lead can't do all that much apart from set up SR.

Trozeiani386.gif
Deoxys-A – Giratina-O Shadow Sneaks for the win. ScarfChomp can revenge too. So can Qwilfish in the rain.

MDP448.png
Lucario – Garchomp can take an Extremespeed and kill it with EQ. Giratina can hurt all non-Jolly likes as well. However, low amounts of "check" is a bit worrisome.

MDP248.png
Tyranitar – Garchomp is a great TTar check. Kyogre can also Surf it for a lot of damage. Palkia does a truck load with its attacks too.

MDP376.png
Metagross – Chomp can handle most Metagross. Kyogre can stop it if it doesn't Explode on me.

MDP230.png
Kingdra
– Can get annoying, but won't be too much of a problem. Kyogre can Thunder Wave it, Qwilfish can also surprise Destiny Bond it.

MDP373.png
Salamence
– See Rayquaza

MDP385.png
Jirachi – Can't actually do very much to me. Kyogre can switch into every Jirachi that doesn't Trick me. Qwilfish can set up hazards on it. Palkia OHKOs with Hydro Pump, ScarfChomp eats it with EQ.

MDP485.png
Heatran – Kyogre makes sure this thing never rapes my team. Garchomp can EQ it, with Palkia can Hydro Pump it too. Qwilfish can do a lot of damage in the rain as well.

MDP490.png
Manaphy – Palkia Thunders it to oblivion. Even CM ones. Qwilfish can do a last minute Taunt+Destiny Bond if need be.

MDP272.png
Ludicolo – Annoying fucker. However, with Toxic Spikes up, it won't be walling me much. Palkia easily destroys it with Draco Meteor

MDP291.png
Ninjask – Shadow Sneak it for a lot of damage and kill it before it passes off. Qwilfish can also surprise Taunt it.

MDP392.png
Infernape – ScarfChomp revenges him, while Qwilfish can also revenge it in the rain.

MDP461.png
Weavile – Can be annoying with an SD up, but Qwilfish can revenge in rain, and isn't getting past Kyogre easily either. Jirachi can also U-Turn around for a truck-load.

MDP251.png
Celebi – Who uses Celebi in Ubers?? Anyway, it won't like DM from Palkia much AT ALL, Jirachi does a lot with U-Turn, Qwilfish can Taunt it (Celebi doesn't carry Leaf Storm in Ubers) and lay entry hazards.

MDP214.png
Heracross – Giratina-O takes most Heracross. If it's using Night Slash or something, Jirachi walls it, so does Kyogre. Garchomp can revenge him.

MDP473.png
Mamoswine – Kyogre takes most Mamoswine. Can easily go to Giratina-O for the obvious Endeavor. Qwilfish outspeeds it too. Palkia does a truck ton.

MDP189.png
Jumpluff – Keeping Rain up is very important. Qwilfish can Taunt it. Giratina-O can Shadow Sneak it. Jirachi can U-Turn nudge its Subs too.

MDP275.png
Shiftry – Kyogre causes this thing problems, but I would need to be wary of switching into predicted Grass Knots. If I can keep the rain up, this thing is a dead weight on the opponent's team.

MDP094.png
Gengar – Kyogre also rapes non-Energy Ball or Thunder Gengar. Giratina-O can Shadow Sneak it. Qwilfish can Waterfall it in the rain and ScarfChomp can revenge it.

MDP141.png
Kabutops - Can cause me problems if it sets up, but usually it won't. Qwilfish outspeeds in the rain and can always surprise kill.

MDP460.png
Abomasnow – Annoying, but Giratina-O eats it with HP Fire. Jirachi can break its Subs for a free switch. Qwilfish can Taunt it.

MDP480.png
Uxie – Dual Screen Memento is annoying, but not too much of a threat.

MDP462.png
Magnezone – Can't really trap anything. Jirachi can just U-Turn out.

MDP051.png
Dugtrio – Can trap things, but can't kill them. Heh.

Defensive Threats:
MDP242.png
Blissey – Outrage from both Giratina-O and Garchomp does a lot. Qwilfish can Waterfall it, Taunt it and in general be nasty to it. Palkia 2HKOs with Hydro Pump after SR.

MDP205.png
Forretress – HP Fire roasts him, Surf and Hydro Pump does a truck load. Qwilfish can absorb Toxic Spikes.

MDP249.png
Lugia – Qwilfish turns this into hazard fodder. Palkia does a fuck load with Specs boosted attacks.

MDP487.png
Giratina – See Lugia.

MDP227.png
Skarmory – See above. Not going to enjoy Specs Hydro Pump either, lol.

MDP488.png
Cresselia – See above

MDP437.png
Bronzong – See above

Deoxys-D – See above

Registeel – See above. OH MY GOD I LOVE MY DEFENSIVE THREATS.

Hey shrang! Really good team here. Some small things you could consider are Iron Head over Ice Punch or U-Turn. This way, you can take out Latios, Latias, and other foes with more ease. I also think Explousion would be better on Quilfish as any switchins or whatever will at least take a large amount of damenge.

Otherwise, not much else I can say lol. Darkrai could provide problums though so thats a slight issue, though as long as Kyogres alive you should be able to take him.

Hmm this team holds its ground against opposing enemies nicely and you surely have stuff covered with the nice Scarfchomp touch. With that said, the changes will be small. I'd really try to advocate the use of Ice punch > Protect on Jirachi because Ray is going to be problematic, especially versions that run Earthquake. (mix)

The only evident problem I see as a whole is defeating a well constructed stall team, you run hazards but lack a dedicated spinner to remove hazards from the enemy. Simple cores like Bliss + Skarm/Forry will be sort of difficult to budge and this is not even considering other members. The only real problem i have with Qwilfish is that i find it very hard to switch into stuff! I guess for other options you can try the standard Forry set with SR / Toxic Spikes / Rapid Spin / Payback. Rapid Spin will make up for replacing your Toxic Spikes absorber and you can have a p. reliable spin user. Placing SR on this will allow you to free up space on Jirachi for Protect. If you prefer Spikes, then it can go over SR but i'd imagine it to be more important in order for Palkia to muscle its way through Blissey. Additionally, many will be inclined to Fire Blast which will often allow Palkia to switch in carefree. just a thought, overall gl.

Definitely a fantastic Ubers team. I can't honestly say much besides what people have said already although I do have a question. I've been looking for Human-Poke pics forEVER and still can't seem to find any. Where do you get yours?

This is actually a pretty nice team and all, and really like the use of Specs Palkia and the underrated Quilfish. However, wouldn't replacing Jirachi with Mixed Dialga actually be more beneficial? Not only can Dialga set up Stealth Rock, but he can also serve as an offensive threat and another buffer against Rayquaza, Lucario, Kingdra, and even more against stall. It seems that Jirachi does not really fit on a team that is supposed to be offensively based.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I might try them out soon.

Oh Lugiatina: Jirachi is my Dragon attack switch in, being able to take Draco Meteors and what not without much effort. Dialga doesn't resist Dragon, and will find it hard to take powerful Dragon attacks.

I fucking love you for basing your RMT off Oracle of the Ages. It's a great team, and I can't believe I didn't think of using Specs Palk :/.
Anyway, my first suggestion is replacing Jirachi with Metagross. Although it's not as specially bulky, it can still take a hit pretty well. This team doesn't really have an "ohshit" button, and Metagross could provide that through Explosion. I suggest something along the lines of

Metagross @ Choice Band
Clear Body
Adamant 252/252/0/0/4/0
- Meteor Mash/Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock, although you can custom tailor EVs to better take DMs, Lati attacks, etc. at the cost of power.

My second suggestion, I think, should only be considered if you decide to run Metagross with Pursuit: Switch to Restalk CM Ogre. With Gross handling Lati@s Ogre's 4th moveslot is opened up, and CM Ogre allows you to set-up on Darkrai's ass, as well as handling stall pretty well, particularly if he's your last man standing.

Well, that's all I can think of, and it's a very good team. I'm definately going to test out Specs Palk sometime. :D

I really like this team alot. Only problem is that if Kingdra gets a DD up (which i think it can against your Palkia locked into Hydro) it 6-0s you with ease. You flat out lose, lol.

Ok I had to stop here just to say that this team is the reason that I failed to make the top 5. It's really a beautifully designed team. But I've been seeing more stall teams lately, so just as a further precaution against them you might try swapping out TWave for Calm Mind on Kyogre. The two are kinda interchangeable depending on the metagame, and I used TWave on my team because I was laddering in a highly offensive metagame.

Hey shrang! Firstly I'd like to say LOL to your palkia. Having haxed you once. Although I remember that you haxed me too... Anyway, I suggest an EV spread of 252 Atk / 40 Spe / 216 SpA with a lonely nature for a lead as the speed does not outrun much in lead position and can be used more effectively to be placed in offense.

I will suggest an option of iron head and t-wave on jirachi as usual as a great fan of the set over U-turn and ice punch seeing as though ray and chomp will probably either switch or kill it regardless.

Consider fire blast on garchomp as it does have the surprize value off hitting forry and scizor for great damage which otherwise they wall. I'm still saying spacila rend over D pulse because what you say is so true, but 10 power and extra crit is just more than the 5 accuracy.

@RL: Kingdra is annoying, but I can play around it without too much trouble. If Kyogre is at good health, he can take a +1 Outrage and Thunder Wave it so I don't need to worry about him any more. If I really get desperate, Qwilfish will always outspeed the thing and Destiny Bond it when stuck in Outrage or something (No one runs +ve Spe on Kingdra in Ubers, lol)

@mtr: Yeah, I'll slash in CM on Kyogre just in case stall goes up in usage, and slash Thunder Wave on Jirachi if I end up using CM.

@calze: Yeah, hopefully I can reconciliate with my Palkia and give it Spacial Rend. Oh, I'm using the standard EVs on Giratina-O because of better mid-game utility, like revenging Adamant SD Ray and that stuff later in the game.

Hey shrang this is a cool team, originality is nice.

First off, being a common user of Giratina-O lead, i would consider EQ > Outrage. looking at your lead analysis, you dont use it at all.
Although its true you lose a strong physical STAB, earthquake gives alot of utility. It allows you to hits T-tar ( leads but also any ttar) harder plus you dont get locked into the move. It also lets you hit steels for good damage despite the whether. this is quite important b/c your team is rain based and opposing mons like spec def jirachi could cause some minor issues. Heatran also walls the set otherwise and while the rest of your team handles him, being able to take it down without trouble is a nice perk

i would also consider running Iron Head over Uturn or Icepunch. Even though jirachi itself isnt paralyzing with twave support from ogre, Jirachi is really capable of paraflinching and it does a damn good job at it too being able to wish and take special hits. i know your other two moves have their uses, but its something to consider.

this last nitpick isnt too important but i would run 40 or 44 speed on ogre to outspeed all base 90 mons with 36 speed evs

hope i helped, gl

Hey Shrang,

First off, I love the theme & names of your team. Also, I laughed out loud when Qwilfish had a card instead of a PokePerson.

Now for the nitpicks. First of all, let me say that this team is very well designed.

1. Dragon Dance Kingdra (as mentioned by RaikouLover) with a Lum Berry (like...like mine!) rapes this team. After 1 boost, Kyogre should be 2HKO'd by either Outrage or a Draco+Outrage combo, and Kingdra won't have any status given the Lum Berry. If Jirachi is still alive, it can come in on the Outrage no sweat, but if it's gone, Kingdra destroys everything else. If Jirachi is alive and comes in when Kingdra isn't in an Outrage, a Waterfall should OHKO it. In your threat list, you say that Kingdra can get surprised by a Destiny Bond from Qwilfish, but even if we say that Qwilfish gets a free switch-in after a KO, a +1 DDance Kingdra will outrun and OHKO Qwilfish...he won't even get to think about using Destiny Bond.

However, that seems to be the only 100% guaranteed counter for this team, which really says a lot for it. Nice work!
