Here we go again.

Another generation, another complete set of analyses to write. As in the past, we will be starting with a set of "pre-analyses": small, single-set analyses intended just to put something on-site for newcomers looking to try the meta. This thread will serve as the reservation site for these pre-analyses.

So, which Pokemon are eligible for a pre-analysis? Every Gen 8 LC-eligible Pokemon with a BST above 300, as well as especially viable Pokemon from previous generations. It's early, so we may be totally off about whether a Pokemon will end up being relevant to the metagame. If you feel that we missed something important, feel free to suggest adding it to the list below. Otherwise, these are the Pokemon that need to be reserved:
Reservations for Pre-Analyses are finished

The process is fairly simple. First, post in this thread that you are reserving a Pokemon, along with an importable of the set you plan to write. You may have up to one in-progress analysis if you've never written an analysis for LC before, up to two in-progress analyses if you have written for LC before, and up to three in-progress analyses if you are on the QC team.

Once your reservation is approved by a moderator, you may post your WIP thread. Here is the format for a pre-analysis:
[SET]
name:
move 1:
move 2:
move 3:
move 4:
item:
ability:
nature:
evs:

[SET COMMENTS]
The first paragraph should have the role the Pokemon plays, a sentence or two of usage tips, and one sentence or less about the EV spread.

The second paragraph should have a brief example of teammates that benefit from the Pokemon's presence, and a brief example of foes that the Pokemon is weak to and some examples of teammates to cover these weaknesses.

In this section, make sure to include:
- the role that the Pokémon plays;
- coverage moves that affect its role; for example, Earthquake allowing Abomasnow to defeat would-be Steel-type switch-ins, furthering its ability as a wallbreaker;
- a description of the EV spread in one sentence or less; don't focus on "default" things like maximum Attack investment, do give reasoning behind the benchmarks chosen;
- a brief example of teammates that benefit from the analysed Pokemon's presence;
- a brief example of foes that the analyses Pokemon is vulnerable to + teammates to help cover them.

This section shouldn't be more than five or six sentences long.

Here is an example of a pre-analysis:
[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Bullet Punch
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Pursuit / Knock Off
item: Choice Band
ability: Technician
nature: Adamant
evs: 164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
This set mainly plays as a pivot and an offensive check to Pokemon such as Latias and Mega Altaria; however, it can also act as a late-game cleaner with its Technician-boosted Bullet Punch. Early- to mid-game, focus on using U-turn to weaken Scizor's checks and safely bring in other wallbreakers and entry hazards setters to give them a free turn; if you're running Pursuit, use it to trap and potentially remove Dark-weak or physically frail targets like Latias and Nihilego. The Speed EVs allow Scizor to outpace uninvested Nidoqueen and Klefki, and the rest of the spread furthers Scizor's role as a bulky, hard-hitting offensive pivot.

Strong wallbreakers such as Primarina and other U-turn or Volt Switch users such as Hydreigon have good synergy with Scizor. Scizor suffers from a vulnerability to Fire-types and Electric-types such as Infernape and Mega Manectric; pair it with Pokemon like Latias and Gligar to alleviate this weakness. Magneton is especially dangerous, as it can easily trap and remove Scizor thanks to Magnet Pull; as long as it's on the field, prioritize using U-turn or Superpower to either escape from it or catch it off guard.

Here's the template for a pre-analysis, including the credits section. Please use this template for your pre-analyses.

After you have finished writing your pre-analysis, you can move it through QC and GP. If you are unfamiliar with these processes, feel free to check out this thread (https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/guide-to-the-gp-process-new-writers-please-read.3588923/) and look at other analyses to get an idea of how it typically works. You can find the list of QC members in the next post. Your pre-analysis will need 2 QC checks and 1 GP check.

When you have received the required checks, set your thread name to just the Pokemon name (i.e. remove "[QC 2/2]" or anything similar) and set the tag to "Done". It will be uploaded shortly.

Thank you all for your help! Lets make Gen 8 C&C the best yet!

arrokuda is not on the official list due to its low bst but id like to write it as i think its viable enough for a new mon to warrant a pre-analysis. it primarily functions as a cleaner and differentiates itself from fellow water type corphish by being faster and able to hit croagunk and mareanie with psychic fangs which corphish cant even attempt now with the loss of hidden power. it also doesnt experience opportunity cost (or 4mss i suppose) like corphish would when running fighting coverage to check ferroseed and outspeeds pawn (but must watch out for sucker punch).

Arrokuda @ Berry Juice
Ability: Swift Swim
Level: 5
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Liquidation
- Close Combat
- Psychic Fangs
- Aqua Jet / Poison Jab

life orb can also be run but running 17hp ivs and no evs would be the spread instead

well-argued, approving this --9

What about resttalk sobble lmao:
Sobble @ Eviolite
Ability: Torrent
Level: 5

Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

I think the only real way to go with Sizz is to abuse his Attack and switch it in on a Fire attack or as a revenge killer.

Sizzlipede @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Adamant / Lonely Nature
- Leech Life
- Fire Lash
- Power Whip
- Knock Off / Scald

If that isn't good enough, literally the only other set I found somewhat potentially viable was a Coil one, but that Stealth Rock weakness makes a defensive set rough.

Sizzlipede @ Eviolite
Ability: Flame Body
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 Def / 196 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Leech Life
- Fire Lash
- Coil
- Substitute

I can write for either set but Scarf would prob be better.

Do a 4 attacks Eviolite Flash Fire set with Coil slashed, Power Whip/Leech Life/Fire Lash/Knock Off - Merritt
