Just keep going until you're tired of it. It takes a while to get the right nature/ability and good IVs.

Why would you toss so many shiny Gastlies? And I guess I'm going to continue until my chain breaks on a shiny patch, I run out of repels which I don't think will happen as I've stocked up with max of everything or I run out of box space:) Hopefully I got a good IV'ed/Natured Beaver:)

O_O... any advice on chaining Gastlies? the area outside of the Lost Tower is so small... and shrouded by trees... that I gave up and started hunting for Pikachus, currently 1 Shiny Pikachu chain at 38.... hope it doesn't break on me.. no good resets...

Actually at night you can find Gastly on Route 209 where Tauros are, but they only have a 10% appearance rate there.

Thankfully, I'm abusing an Item Glitch to get Infinite Dive Balls while my AR is broken.

Well my chain finally ended at 88, with Bibarel, I think I've captured 27 shiny ones. I'll edit this post with their IVs:)

Arg, chaining in Sand Storm is annoying.

I only tried chaining in the sandstorm like once and the only patches I could see easily was the sparkling patches:(

Yeah, it's a lot of stepping in patches that you didn't see.
