Looking for a great Flying type.

I really need a decent and powerful flying type built for sweeping. I was thinking of using Honchkrow or Moltres but I just cant find a build that suits me. So what do you guys here at Smogon know? Do you know any great flying type builds that have helped you in the past?

P.S. Yes, I did search through the Pokedex but I just couldn't decide so I want your personal opinions on the superior sweeping flying type.
 
Really this is subjective and there won't be much discussion. However, Salamence is easily the best flying type. Bulky, Powerful, and fast after a Dragon Dance or two.
 
CB Staraptor can be a good choice since it has high-powered STAB moves and Close Combat.

I'm assuming you mean more the normal/flying Pokemon and not OU powerhouses with a secondary flying type like Gyarados or Salamence.
 
Salamence is probablly the best flying type for going on the offensive due to a fantastic movepool combined with great stats which allow it to run many effective sets (DD, Specs,Mixed). Staraptor is also pretty decent as well thanks to a solid Base attack score (120) and some useful moves such as Close Combat and Brave Bird.
 
Salamence/Gyarados are probably your best bets. Despite a weakness to SR they still dominate the metagame.
 
Wow, and here I thought the Legendary Birds would be getting some love... Hmm well Salamance looks tough but I already have a decent amount of Dragon Pokemon, yet I haven't really been taking advantage of Salamance's typing. Anyway, what about Charizard? He's in the Borderline tier and as far as I know it's still allowed in competitive battling,.
 
Well anything in OU and below is still allowed in OU, so yeah, it can be used. Charizard however does suffer from getting 50% damage from stealth rock, which really hurts it.

I'd say it really depends on your team, but generally speaking Salamence/Gyarados are your best bets, with Togekiss/Zapdos also being generally good.
