Pangoro @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Zen Headbutt
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Knock Off

252+ Atk Choice Band Pangoro Zen Headbutt vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Machamp: 334-394 (103.7 - 122.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

If you are lucky enough to hit, it dies. Zen can also be nice vs stuff like sniping Virizion on the switch expecting a knock off.

252+ Atk Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Machamp: 324-382 (100.9 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Iron Fist Pangoro Hammer Arm vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Machamp: 373-441 (116.1 - 137.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Can someone please explain why either of these would ever need Zen Headbutt to lure Machamp? Or why Machamp would ever try to tank a hit from either?

Week 4: Mega Abomasnow!

63040_460Abomasnow_Mega_Dream.png

Abomasnow @ Abomasite
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 92 Atk / 252 SpA / 164 Spe
Rash Nature
- Blizzard
- Wood Hammer
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Despite having dropped to NU after the last tier shift, Mega Abomasnow started gaining traction on the tier no more than one or two months ago. And man, it surely does pack a punch! Blessed with great wallbreaking power and the ability to run special, physical and even mixed sets, Abomasnow is able to scare out many bulky waters and special walls a strong Wood Hammer or Giga Drain, scare out huge threats like Roserade, Virizion and Zygarde-10% with its STAB Ice Shard, and deal huge damage to any blanket target with a STAB Blizzard that never misses. Being able to circumvent many of its checks on a switch in with coverage in Earthquake and Hail slowly chipping at Fire- and Steel-types, what can we do to lure this menace?

Deadline: 19/02

LAST HURRAH. (Donphan) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin / Knock Off
- Ice Shard

252+ Atk Donphan Gunk Shot vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow-Mega: 260-308 (80.9 - 95.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock. Aboma can switch into dongphans attacks and wreck havoc normally. Gunk Shot is able to punish. Helpful for Tsareena too.

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 156 SpD / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Toxic

Basically the standard Rhyperior set with speed creep for Aboma and Edge > Blast because it's a guaranteed KO as long as it hits, Rock Blast can be used with Adamant and 60 atk evs which allows it to always kill Aboma with 3 hits.

feraligatr.gif

Feraligatr @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Liquidation
- Ice Punch
- Superpower

Assuming you dance on the hard switch to obama:

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Feraligatr Crunch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow-Mega: 183-216 (57 - 67.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

+1 crunch will never kill even after rocks. Superpower does what crunch cannot here:

+1 252 Atk Life Orb Feraligatr Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow-Mega: 421-497 (131.1 - 154.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

at +1, you always kill obama, and unboosted superpower straight up kills with rocks damage.

we got some pretty interesting options on this week. Superpower, Gunk Shot and Hidden Power Fire are all interesting options that tweak usual sets to lure Abomasnow. On other hand, creeping Abomasnow with Rhyperior is very cool as a countermeasure to it as well, and its probably the least obvious of the bunch. Because of that, my vote goes for Askov.

Please, remember to vote by Saturday!

Looks like we have a tie between Askov and Scizorphobic. Congratulations to both and let's move on to another threat!

Week 5: Toxicroak!
toxicroak-png-2.png

Toxicroak @ Poisonium Z
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch

After Gligar and Doublade's departure from the tier, Toxicroak got even better with two major counters gone, meaning it could drop Ice Punch in favor of running Dual STAB and a strong priority move in Sucker Punch. Being a good switch-in to all Water-types and being able to beat virtually every single one of them with its Swords Dance set, Toxicroak carves a great niche by pressuring many Water/Steel/Grass cores with Gunk Shot and Drain Punch. Poisonium Z allows Toxicroak to deal with defensive titans like Slowbro and Cresselia after little prior damage, and Sucker Punch can clean weakened teams after a boost, specially against offense builds. With a good defensive typing and a few notable weaknesses, what can we do to lure that threat?

Deadline: 01/03

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Recover
- Toxic
- Tri Attack

+2 252 Atk Toxicroak Acid Downpour (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 277-327 (74 - 87.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

4 SpA Analytic Porygon2 Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Toxicroak: 500-592 (162.8 - 192.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Solid bulky Pokemon which can tank Croak and return damage in full

Reserving zen virizion

162399
162398

Virizion @ Psychium Z / Grassium
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Zen Headbutt
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Swords Dance

handy for OHKOing Roserade, Nidoqueen, etc. Usually unexpected and get surprised Toxicroak expecting to tank a hit and kill.

Registeel @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Earthquake

EV spread allows Regi to live LO Low Kick after rocks and get 2HKO if it gets predicted on the switch. EQ also comes in handy to stop Nasty Plot from Salazzle and avoid A-Wak from subbing

162346

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake

always wins 1v1 against the toxicroak given and hits stuff like meta queen drag as well, which is pretty nice

Reserving Pangoro

162351

Pangoro @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Earthquake

Toxicroak outspeeds Pangoro and can pretty much come in on any of Pangoros attacks and can recover the health back up with its STAB in Drain Punch.
Earthquake acts here as the lure, since Toxicroak gets hit super effectively by it.
Earthquake is a clear OHKO on Toxicroak.
252+ Atk Choice Band Pangoro Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Toxicroak: 492-580 (159.7 - 188.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Ive used this lure like 20 times and it usually ends in someone clicking FF so here it is:

blastoise-mega.png

Blastoise-Mega @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Psychic]

It's a pretty neat tech as beam is usually the most that can be done vs croak, and usually Croak will win the 1v1, barring crits. However, HP Psychic just absolutely decimates Croak.

252+ SpA Blastoise-Mega Hidden Power Psychic vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Toxicroak: 420-496 (136.3 - 161%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Modest)
252 SpA Blastoise-Mega Hidden Power Psychic vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Toxicroak: 384-456 (124.6 - 148%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Timid)
