Make hubs for people to join :)

They do this on a site called friendcodes.com. This could really help the cooperation and understanding between members. It could also get alot of more activity on smogon. All in all, the purpose would be members will get to meet, battle, and befriend other members XD

Hubs? How about a G+ circle or a Facebook group? I'm aware that a few other sites have done this or something similar (RolePlayGateway, Flash Flash Revolution, Adventure Quest). Still, from what I understand, Smogon was born in IRC and there it will continue to exist in its pure form.
