May Usage Predictions

Tyranitar, Garchomp, Celebi, Heatran, Bronzong, (insert Pokemon here).

Is the new standard team for every single person.

I predict many things about this month:
as said MANY times before, the chomp/TTar/celebi/heatran/Steel/Random is definately going up.
I predict that all 4 specific pokemon usage will go up, especially celebi, who is basically on every team nowadays.
I also predict gastrodon usage will go wayyy up into the mid 80's in rank, and porygon2 will also rise a little bit.
Top 5 usages: Chomp, TTar, Gengar, Lucario, Bronzong/Bliss (will be close)

Just fill in that empty slot with Mixed Infernape and you have a counter for the other teams... assuming no scarfers. It 1 hits.. Everything?

Well, I seem to have predicted practically the same stuff (except for Gyarados) as players did, without actually touching ShoddyBattle. Am I cool or what? :)

lol X-Act

Your pixie magicks will be revealed someday!

Anyway I haven't been so involved with the OU metagame the past two months, so I can't make too many worthwhile claims.

X-Act predicts Blissey will slide to fourth...I say...maybe...

You know, everyone says Gyarados is going to rise...but I truthfully have not seen too many in the limited amount of battles I have seen. I am actually predicting it drops to 5, or maybe even 6.

Hopefully people are realizing that Dragon Dance Salamence is much more effective than Dragon Dance Gyarados, at least on average.

Actually everyone is saying Gyarados is about to fall, except me.

That might be the only thing I mispredicted.

But hey, the statistics aren't out yet, so... you never know.

General Trends:
Toxic Spikes seems more common then it was, but at the same time usage of TS immune pkmn is also very high. I don't know if their usage increased as a result of TS but it seems like many teams these days have only 1 or 2 pkmn on a team affected by TS.

Biggest Gainers:

Celebi, Heatran, and Metagross I all think will move up a few spots. SD Lucario is on so many teams and as of April was ranked 6th. It might move up a spot.

Losers:
I see a lot less Cresselias these days. Hippowdon also seems to be dropping slightly.

Salamence is only more useful due to the drop in watertanks and rise in things like Celebi. I predict that we will see the exact opposite in july!! :P

Earthworm's not so accurate predictions:

Weighted Usage:

1. Garchomp
2. Gengar
3. Gyarados
4. Tyranitar
5. Blissey
6. Bronzong
7. Lucario
8. Heatran
9. Starmie
10. Salamence
11. Celebi
12. Infernape
...
18. Zapdos
19. Heracross
...
21. Weavile

Most Popular Leads:

1. Bronzong
2. Gengar
3. Tyranitar
4. Gyarados
5. Salamence
6. Azelf
7. Hippowdon

Well, as many of you will know (or possibly not, if you get your info from this thread), the usage is up.

The top 3, are, as were they, like, forever:

Garchomp
Gengar
Blissey

Fairly standard.

Most popular lead is Bronzong (meh, obviously - what else can eclipse it?)

Interesting numbers all over:

Not so good for Gyarados being only a few hundred higher than Tyranitar, while Blissey, suprisingly, is clear from Gyarados by some thousand. We are sure to see a shift in the top five when June ends.

I thought this was Tyranitar's month. It wouldn't have suprised me if Tyranitar moved up to 3rd due to Garchomp being arguably most effective when Tyranitar is around, putting them two on the same team often. Considering Garchomp is the most used Pokemon, you would think it would lift Tyranitar's usage greater than that of Blissey, Gyarados and possibly even Gengar. Additionally, we can't forget that Tyranitar is used for its overwhelming power and unpredictablility without Garchomp being on the same team.

Celebi was undoubtably sure to enter atleast the top 20 this month, and it has rapidly lived up to its new found expectations. Kudos.

I won't be suprised if Suicune rises to the occasion when we see the next listings in July, because I have certainly seen the Rest + Sleep Talk with Calm Mind set alot this month, and Suicune in general. Another Pokemon to look out for.

I'm predicting Celebi to go up in usage as well as Zapdos.

Weavile, Lucario, Machamp, and Togekiss all to fall as well as Cresselia.

Forrestress and Heatran should go up I think.

Tyranitar up.

Gyarados down.

Ike, the stats are up xD. Didn't you see Taylor or my post?

xD. THOUSANDTH POST! YHEY! Watch out for a giveaway sooner or later.

How a Pokemon performs in ubers is in no way related to whether it ought to be OU.

mesprit will rise up. and more people are using it.

I think jolteon leads will go down, and crobat leads will go way up.
I also think gyarados usage will go up because they will start to be used in other parts of teams and for other reason that aren't as naive as just leading and sweeping a whole team.
