We're getting our match done hopefully this Friday! Aldaron is on a business trip and I have had limited computer access lately so its been hard this week.

so since its obviously not Friday anymore, do you guys have any plans to get this done today or sometime during the week?

Lost in a pretty bullshit game that only lasted about 25 seconds.

Sad that the finals was the worst battle for me this entire tourney.

lol gorm i hate you.

alright since this is over I'm gonna make a little summary, mainly to go over how the Pokemon allowed affected the metagame etc.

Until then I got some questions.. how did you guys like this tournament? What was the most dominant pokemon (M/D/W/L) that was allowed? Was the game over centralized?

I loved this tourney, thanks so much Wart for coming up with it!. Though I think people's teams were pretty similar all around, (Bronzong, Gengar, Heracross, Garchomp) which was kinda sad. I for one didn't have to worry about the MDWL pokes that much, gorm's Wobby, Great Sage's Manaphy/Latias, Aldaron's Deo-e, (Fishin and my other opponents didn't even use any MDWL pokes.) The MDWL all seemed to die quickly and wasn't much to worry about. I used Latios, Mixed and scarfed. He always played his role, then died so easily, like an Azelf or Roserade.

Tournaments can't really make any definitive judgments, but they can certainly be used to make well based general statements.

Well, mine is that this metagame is awesomely fun, especially since Garchomp's effectiveness is reduced drastically. I actually used a Haban Berry (dragon resist) Garchomp in my finale against Mystica. Lati@s forces Garchomp to revert to its Scarf set over its now omnipresent Yache set, and Deoxys-S and Manaphy both reduce Garchomp's ability to switch in.

I still don't like Wobbuffet, as I still hold it is the exception to our rules. Sure, it might not overcentralize and it might not be that great, but the "Facet" it adds to our metagame (having to prepare to not be able to switch) is something I don't like.

The next Pokemon to test are Deoxys-D (I have no idea why this hasn't been ever brought up, especially in a metagame as offensive as DP), Darkrai, Mew and Ho-Oh.

I seriously have no issue with Deoxys-S, Lati@s (without Soul Dew) and Manaphy in OU.

The only MWDL Pokemon I really saw used was Lati@s, and it wasn't too difficult to deal with at all (actually Latios sorf of nerfs Garchomp as it's faster and can OHKO which is neat). Neither of them posed too much of a threat offensively or defensively without Soul Dew.

Wobb I still dislike because of what it does to the influence of skill, but seeing as it's now Uber there's not really much more to be said. I can't really say anything for Manaphy or Deoxys based on the events of the tournament.
