Really like the Idea of a Fairy/Fighting type. However I'm going to ask something I once asked someone else. If you're going to make a mega that works well in a trick room team, then wouldn't it be neat to drop his speed? This would also allow you to boost his other stats a little bit.

Speed was left untouched just because of my "tendencies" on how I distribute points. It could outspeed things like
Conkeldurr but I couldn't think of any notable reasons not to reduce it save for flavor-related issues.

You make a good point. I could deduct like 5-10 points from Speed but I'm thinking where to put it. Attack seems to be an obvious one, but I think 170 seems just a tad too high considering mine has Sheer Force. Maybe it's just me lol. I guess 165 seems fine and the remaining 5 goes to either his defenses.

Is 10 PM the mark? If it is I've been doing a bloody awful job

Yeah, although technically he said 10 pm EST which means you have about 7 minutes and you wont technically be late (although he probably meant EDT since basically nothing is EST right now)

Alright then.

This begins the voting period for the current slate of Forretress, Granbull, Shuckle, and Corsola. PM your top 3 favorites to me, with your first getting 3 votes, second getting 2, and first getting 1. refer to the below post for submissions.

This also begins the Discussion (not submission) period for the slate of:

Things to note about the new slate:
If proper care isn't taken, Entei could easily become Uber material. It's already strong, fast, and bulky. Smeargle will be interesting. Oblivious could be a cool ability on the artsy little fella; it's hard to give it any bulk even with 100 BST to work with.

Suggestions that should merit instant bans from Smogon:
Sturdy/Prankster Smeargle
Fur Coat Blissey
Serene Grace Entei

The problem with Smeargle is that its usefulness was never in its stats, typing, or ability. It was all in its moveset. Unfortunately, Mega Smeargle can change nothing but stats, typing, and ability, since its movepool can't really be expanded at all. To compound that problem, Smearglite means that it cant hold a Focus Sash, one of the items critical to its usefulness. In a case like this, when nothing about the Pokemon can be improved, and the lack of an item will almost definitely make the Mega subpar to its base form, then I concede that drastic measures must be taken. Yes, for this one time only, I mean real drastic measures.

Fur Coat Smeargle, I approve. This time and this time only.

In order for a Mega Smeargle to be even remotely useful, it needs something really, really good. Its offenses are pitiful to the point where even 100 points into a single stat still won't likely break it. Focus Sash will outclass nearly anything we give to Mega Smeargle, including Sturdy, because though Mega Smeargle may have boosted stats with a built-in Focus Sash, no one uses Smeargle for its stats; utility is a role even standard Smeargle can play. The one thing we can do with it is make it a better utility Pokemon, and boosted defenses are one of the best ways we can do it. Fur Coat (or a Special variant) can help Smeargle take hits and support; unlike Focus Sash, it will be able to do so more than once--that's what warrants its use over regular Smeargle. Stat, movepool, and type changes aren't likely to help Smeargle, but an ability that allows it to outperform current Smeargle will. (As a side note, no Prankster, please, as it would literally outclass every current Prankster holder because of its amazing movepool and thus render much of the balancing of Prankster Pokemon redundant).

Prankster smearguls will pop up. I guarantee it. Simple smearguls will also show up. However, no one will see my huge power smeargul comming... Well, now that I posted this they will, but that was aside the point. Above all this, if you want to go for flavor... go for sketch. It's hillariously perfect.

Mega Smeargle
Normal —> Normal/Fairy
Own Tempo/Technician/Moody —> Trace
BST: 55/20/35/20/45/75 —> 55/20/35/100/55/95

Any move. Any ability. Any role. This is great for flavor, since it builds upon the basic idea behind Smeargle as a Pokémon. I think this would make for a great threat in OU, since it won't have to be used as a lead. You can switch it in on any Pokémon that has an ability that would help Smeargle accomplish its role, and thanks to the extra 20 points in Speed, it can pull off some interesting combos such as Pixilate Boomburst, or Prankster Spore/entry hazards. Of course, we all know Smeargle as a setup Pokémon meant for supporting and boosting, so I decided to give it more points in special attack in order to allow it to act as any role you wish it, be it lead, support, or Special Sweeper. It's a shame it only gets 100 extra stats to work with, since a 250 BST won't get the Mega Evolution much farther, so I optimized what I felt was necessary. Fairy typing is a great addition, since this gives Smeargle an extra immunity without disturbing flavor.
No submissions yet, please. This is just discussion period.

Oh, whoops... My bad. Anyways, in order to summarize my old post without going into specifics, since Smeargle can learn any move, how about implementing something where it can learn have any ability. Like Trace, or an ability that changes to one that benefits its moveset, or something like that. Goes great with flavor.
