The one time that I ever tried to torrent something, I did so without a VPN, and I received a letter from my ISP threatening to fine me a six-figure sum if I didn't delete the content. I haven't attempted it since.
excuse me? how can they do that? The one time that I ever tried to torrent something, I did so without a VPN, and I received a letter from my ISP threatening to fine me a six-figure sum if I didn't delete the content. I haven't attempted it since.
They can see what you do on the internet and when they see you do something whacky, they can send it to law enforcement and give you troubleexcuse me? how can they do that?
but six figures? They can see what you do on the internet and when they see you do something whacky, they can send it to law enforcement and give you trouble
That's why VPNs are a thing. Btw don't buy Vpns, buy some server space and make your own. Cheaper and much safer
If my understanding is correct, other devices on the torrent network can see devices that torrent things, which leaves you particularly exposed to copyright hounds while torrenting compared to other forms of piracy. I assume that the number they threatened me with was designed to scare me. I've since repeatedly engaged in multiple other kinds of piracy without any threats coming in.excuse me? how can they do that?
two more for you
