MLB World Series Official Thread

I think the Yankees chances today is much higher than game one against Lee; it looks like their offense lit up a bit more. Lee was definitely carving up the plate, but I also think Yankee hitters were not doing their best during game one, perhaps due to nerves.

But I don't think Lee will be lights out again.
 
I agree with this. The nerves thing definitely had to do with Game 1, because people were ancious to see what their opponent had. Looks like the Yankees were nervous offensively.
 
I'm not exactly hoping for the Yankees to close it out today. If they do, I'll be happy, but I'd just rather them locking it up in New York.

Also, if they do win, I'll be attending the celebratory parade. ^^

Naw, jk. It looks like clear skies. Hasn't rained at all today and hopefully it won't throughout this game. I really want to see a good game today.

Cliff Lee:

-- Little bit.

Yankees:
- Afraid to hit off Cliff Lee?
-- No.
- Getting hits?
-- Not quite, but too early to decide.
- Confidence?
-- Definitely.

Just a small Q and A to show how much this game is actually worth.
 
Top of the 8th and it's 8-2 Phillies lead. What I don't understand is why Cliff Lee didn't play yesterday.. It could've been 2-2, instead of playing a game with much more pressure at 3-1.
 
Coming from Australia and being a major Cricket fan, I don't get much opportunity to watch baseball, but I was glued to the screen watching game 5 last night.

Really hoping the Yankees can clinch it in game 6 and do so with style. Good watching.
 
Well, it's a close ass game right now.

Bottom of 3rd, Jeter on first, 2-2 on Damon with 1 out.

Pretty close game with a score of 2-1 Yanks. I'm guessing a 6-4/5 win for the Yanks, predictions anyone?
 
Well, I think Tex just won the series for you Yankee's fans. Congratulations on the World Series win, just don't get complacent because we'll take the division next year! (I don't see the Phils coming back tonight).

My original thoughts, but what are you gonna do. IIRC he would only have been on 3 days rest and you want someone like Lee at full. Even though he was 2-0 he definitely wasnt as strong in the second game he started, obviously.

Shame, I wanted to see him close 7.

Also lol at whoever said Lee could start 4 games on the first page

Bandwagon Yankee fans are the best Yankee fans. Probably all root for the Lakers/Steelers too.

Someday there will be a hard salary cap in baseball instead of this BS cap that isn't anything but a mild annoyance. Then what will the Yankees do?
