REGARDING THE FUTURE OF MONOTYPE OMS & THE MONOTYPEOM ROOM.
Good afternoon. The Monotype OM room has declined in user based activity for quite a while. And it took HEAVY consideration to keep the ship afloat. With me, and the help of our lovely room owner
boomp we decided on progressing with the future of this, though small, still cherished sub-style meta of Monotype OMs.
Now with that comes with some possible ideas in the near future. Lets begin.
CCATS WILL BE RETURNING. I have yet to opt for a schedule regarding hosting CCATS as I am currently on the busier side but yes they will continue. To help grow in the remainder of the OMs we are going to opt for which are as followed; Wildcard, UU, CAP, LC, THREAT, TERA, and NDM.
Though the later options wont really be held in the room as NDM CCATS are typically hosted in the NDM room, and Threat is just threat. Now, for Monothreat, I was going to host a fun little idea similar to what other tiers do which iiiiissss...

Threat can be a great metagame once a player, new or experienced, figures out how to beat potent threats surrounding the type and build accordingly. Threat is one metagame that, if underlooked, can be a landslide for one or a slippery slope for another. I think with a community based team building weekly competition we can plan ahead of certain variants, different teams, or playstyles!
And, as you saw above, yes we voted on scrapping STAB, AAA, and Ubers as well. It was a very unfortunate decision in the making but it is for the better. These metas, yes are fun, but overall are severely underlooked.
But that means one thing for the future of OMs and that is. . .
CREATING NEW AND INNOVATING OMS!
There are a good variety of regular SV based OMs that we can look at as a beginners knowledge of what exactly we can really do regarding creating further OMs for Monotype.
With that being said. There is discussion of daily room tours. Me and
boomp will have to speak with upper staff about coding and such.
SPP8 WILL MOST LIKELY BE A DAILY TOUR IF WE CHOOSE TO DO SO. WITH THAT ALSO BEING SAID, MONOTYPE OM ROOM WILL NOT SOLELY ONLY BE A SUB ROOM TO ONLY PARTICIPATE IN SPP8 TOURS.
Yes we will host them if you ask, but it will NOT be repetitive. We have 6 other for certain OMs we want to expand, and possible OMs in the future that we can work on coding and creating. SPP8 is fun, yes, but its not only just the signature Monotype OM.

Espathra has been banned from UU Monotype.
Darkrai benefits in a metagame where its not overshadowed by prominent Dark-types like Chien-Pao, Kingambit, and Meowscarada. Although Dark Void received a nerf from 80% accuracy to 50%, Darkrai has access to an alternative option in Hypnosis. Darkrai benefits from Hypnosis by inflicting Pokémon by 15.% (100 HP/8) damage for each turn that Pokémon stays asleep in front of Darkrai. With a high-speed tier, special attack, and access to Nasty Plot this Pokémon on paper can be a threatening special breaker. The council will be looking at this Pokémon more closely.
Spectrier is a speedy Ghost-type that notably has Grim Neigh which rewards itself with a Special Boost when it secures KOes. Spectrier also has good utility in Substitute which allows it to dodge status conditions, setup in Calm Mind or Nasty Plot, and Will-O-Wisp + Hex. Overall this Pokémon on paper can be pretty dangerous in this metagame so we will be keeping a close eye on it.
