Project Monotype Teambuilding Workshop

Can i have a Bug team around Scizor or Kleavor (Not both) and with the Reg H restrictions? No Legendaries, No Paradox. Thank you very much.

Can i have a Bug team around Scizor or Kleavor (Not both) and with the Reg H restrictions? No Legendaries, No Paradox. Thank you very much.
Read the rules in the first post.

- Have a one paragraph description with the core / Pokemon you want us to build around and a slight idea of what kind of team you want the end result to be.
- Do not post asking us to make use of unviable Pokemon (a.k.a. not on the Monotype Viability Rankings). This is not a competition to see how good we are at teambuilding; this is us trying to educate people on what is good and how to build effective teams.
- Do not flame people for asking for a certain Pokemon or that they can't build one themselves.
- Each user is allowed one request per week and any user found requesting multiple will have their post deleted
- Please remember that these teams are first drafts and as such will not be perfect. Edit them as you please.
- On that note, you are free (and highly encouraged) to suggest and post changes / critiques you've made to already posted teams that you feel improve them.
- Please refrain from posting teams unless you are an "employee," but if you feel that you would be a valuable asset to the construction of a certain team, PM me.
- Do note that requests for teams built around mons that are below C rank (and unranked) are not allowed as they are generally less viable mons in the tier (C rank is still allowed)
- Please do not make specific requests such as doubles, ubers, no legendary, no paradox,

However if you want a team without scizor....bad choice because is a nearly mandatory mon.

Still, I made in five minutes this team for you:

Hello can I ask for a Bug team that revolves around Slither Wing as the Physical Wall breaker instead of Hcross, also if its possible to include Yanmega in it it would be greatly appreciated

Hi, sorry for the delay but I've been very sick and life got very busy. Anyway, here is your team: https://pokepast.es/60e4bcca56f32779

Started off with Slither Wing. I thought about using Will-O-Wisp but decided against it, its better to be able to reliably hit Gholdengo and Heatran. Boots is good but you can use Scarf or Life Orb if you like.

Volcarona is a classic, really strong and good into a lot of the meta. Psychic helps lure in and pop Air Balloon on Heatran, letting Slither Wing have an easier time against Steel teams. Also does well into Skarmory which Slither Wing struggles against.

Scizor is here to provide some priority and some immediate damage, knock off is great value as well, removing hazards so that Forretress can spam them and chip opposing teams down.

Kleavor is next, I noticed some troubles with the lack of a choice scarf user so I added him, provides additional hazard support and helps with the Flying matchup.

Yanmega is here as well, incredibly strong attacker that pairs excellently with hazard support, 2HKOing most everything in the meta.

Forretress ties it all together, the hazard support is really big for this team, and Rapid Spin is equally as important, making sure the pivot options can switch in several times across the course of a game.

Here's a replay and I hope you enjoy: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9monotype-2282127064-ldbih4y9emarfet22fyuzl6xrsevxlupw

This team is pretty difficult to use, but it's pretty fun. I wanted to try and make it more beginner friendly but I couldn't really find a way. Good luck and have fun!

Hello, first of all, I'd like to thank you for the team I received earlier. I tried it, and it was very enjoyable, yielding excellent results. Now, I would like to request a new team.

I'm looking for a hyper-offensive or offensive ice team with Alolan Sandslash. I've attempted to build teams, but I struggle against certain types, especially bug and steel, like Choice Band Scizor with Bullet Punch or Close Combat prediction which completely dismantle my team. I've also faced challenges against fighting monotypes and other ice types that complicate my encounters.

I was considering using Rotom Frost in the team, as I've tested sets that favor it thanks to its typing. However, it may not be very viable, so I leave it up to you to decide how to proceed for maximum effectiveness.

I believe Alolan Sandslash is a very useful Pokémon, as it can revenge kill annoying Pokémon like Sneasler thanks to the snow. I appreciate any help in advance. Thank you!

Sandslash-Alola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Knock Off

Mamowsine helps provide entry hazard support and threatens steel types. Sandslash is your pokemon of choice, provides good utility with rapid spin and knock off, in the replay you will see knock off helping quite a bit to help deal with a choice scarf great tusk. Weavile also provides solid speed without snow being up, strong physical attacker that provides knock off and priority support. Classic Ninetales set, you could opt for Light Clay instead of Icy Rock but it is entirely your choice. This Cloyster set is pretty funky but I like it a lot. It is intended to be used as an early game attacker to catch an opponent off guard. If you wanted to change it to something more standard I wouldn't be mad at you. Last is Kyurem, typical beatstick that just smashes through stuff.

Here's a replay, I hope you enjoy: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9monotype-2304897279-rjgcf1gogcithwac3u4s65na5vyyl76pw

Could I have a fighting monotype with scrafty and gallade in it please.
I dont really mind what strategy the team has but anything offensive would be cool.
Thanks
https://pokepast.es/3c58a857a9ff1ed1

Haven't really experimented with Fighting much after Zamazenta ban but this was fun. The main idea was to pair Scrafty up with some specially defensive Pokemon that can take care of them so Scrafty can spam bulk up, as seen in the replay. Scrafty is a great status absorber, as seen in the replay as well, so Rest works great for him. Gallade and Iron Hands are both specially defensive tanks, helping deal with Special Attackers so that Scrafty can spam Bulk Up and win. Urshifu is really really strong, an immediate attacker that doesn't require as much setup as Scrafty does. Great Tusk provides a great physical wall, along with entry hazard control. Last is Iron Valiant, the team lacked a special attacker and a choice scarf user so it fills both of those rolls. You can change the moveset if you wanted to put anything different on (trick, destiny bond, etc)

Here's a replay, enjoy: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9monotype-2304895028-590w8jntvofx0g4g1eqcc3tmlwoqgw9pw

Hi, this is for generation 9 monotype only, not National Dex Monotype. Your best bet would be going to the National Dex Monotype room on pokemon showdown and asking there, my apologies

Thanks man! cant wait to try it out

Hello team, could you help me build a mono ground team based around SD Gliscor please.
I tried to build it but struggling and don't have so much time.
Thanks a lot !
Hi, sorry for the wait but I wanted to keep this team a secret as I wanted to use it in tournament, here it is: https://pokepast.es/d233098bb40d8d5b / https://pokepast.es/1cb8a3830be01044 (2 versions, one has lando i the other has lando t)

Ground was my first love in this generation. I've been struggling to build Ground for a while now but your suggestion of SD Gliscor helped me out a lot and gave me some direction, so thank you very much. I love the dual sires, you can spam hazards and that allows for Gliscor to be more offensive and not have to rely on using substitute and toxic. They are also very good defensively. Iron Treads is good for the fairy matchup as well as removing hazards from our own side. Great Tusk is our speed control and just immediate hard hitter. Landorus-T is good in the flying matchup, but takes a bit of time to get set up, as well as the team not having a special attacker, which is why there is a version with Landorus-I. They both act as a ground immunity which is very helpful in this meta. I went for Psychic over Sludge Wave as it helps with the fighting matchup. Thanks again for your suggestion and I hope you enjoy. The replay is from the tournament match I used this team in, its a solid replay but I only won the game because I got lucky, but a win is a win.

Thanks a lot the team is really fun to play !
Thanks for the work !

Hello again. I would like to request a fighting mono-team built around an unburden Hawlucha sweeper (either liechi berry endure, or focus sash swords dance). Thank you in advance!

P.S. I did have a previous request which seemed to go unanswered. If that is an issue, please void that previous request and prioritize this Hawlucha team. Thanks again.

Hey mmtaccos here is the team centered around Roaring Moon that plays well against Fairy teams that you requested!

:roaring-moon::ting-lu::muk-alola::darkrai::meowscarada::hoopa-unbound:
https://pokepast.es/9bdd0a399411d58d

Choice Band Roaring Moon is an interesting pick in Monotype. I opted for Dragon Claw over Outrage, so that it would not be locked into any moves and you could freely switch. Earthquake is just great general solid coverage, and U-turn helps the team pick up offensive momentum. Ting-Lu and Alolan Muk are the defensive core of the team. Ting-Lu's EV spread allows it to take Life Orb Close Combat from Iron Valiant after 3 layers of spikes, lives Moonblast from Specs Flutter Mane, and its Rocky Helmet allows it to 1v1 Draining Kiss Hatterene. Ting Lus other main job is to spread hazards, as they are pretty crucial in this metagame. Alolan Muk is the teams special tank, it fills a variety of roles such as scouting Choice'd attackers with Protect, as well as being able to remove items such as Heavy-Duty Boots with Knock Off. If you wanted to go for more of a bulky setup attacker, you could drop Knock Off for Curse. Darkrai is the anti-Flying measure of the team, after a single Nasty Plot it can OHKO the entire type, you just need to watch out for its Choice Scarf users, set it up after those items have been removed. Meowscarada is the standard speed control pick, has access to U-turn creating offensive momentum, and I opted for Play Rough to make mirrors and Fighting a bit easier to handle. Hoopa-Unbound is a great Pokemon overall especially being helping in the Poison and Steel matchups. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the team!

thanks for the team, wdyt about psychic over thunder to help against the fighting mu? it seems pretty bleak rn, although i understand that psychic would weaken the mu against flying teams with water types

requesting a mono dark balance/bo team built around cb moon, i'd prefer if the team had a way to not get 6-0'd by fairies

https://pokepast.es/0ac166637c7eb37c
This is another team, other good and bad things. This AV Hoopa-U allows to 0HKO Flutter Mane while also taking Keldeo Secret Sword +1. Muk-A is 3HKO by Moonblast specs but helps mainly against Primarina. Fairy MU is pretty easy but you should be able to go through other stuffs. Gren Is 2HK0 Flying teams except spdef Corvi but Hoopa-U and Roaring Moon are destroying the bird. Archa could be a bit harsh that's why we are playing Focus Blast on Hoopa-U. For bug MU, we have Mandibuzz. You can slow U-Turn with Mandibuzz and fast against special sponge with Greninja to bring Roaring Moon. Otherwise having a priority helps against scarf Flutter Mane. I've played the team and against dragon, water BO, ghost, fairy you should have options, steel is imo 50/50 needing some anticipations but definitely not impossible and not in steel advantage.

feel free to play around with darkrai's coverage, thunder is meant for things like corviknight. psychic could be nice given most sneasler also on fighting are now air balloon and ohkoing them is always nice.

Hey, I've thought about this with an electric seed allowing you to set up and deal more damages https://pokepast.es/42eb2e733d64ab53 . This Hawlucha set outspeed Dragapult scarf so only Sneasler unburden activated and Barraskewda under rain are faster than you. Throat Chop as coverage allows you to deal with ghosts and Gholdengo in steel. Electric Terrain can also boost Iron Valiant Speed as it doesn't take care of items for stat boost so you can have a specs+scarf Iron Valiant ready to to dig holes.
Otherwise you can go for something like this https://pokepast.es/4197db5d7278e322 with endure liechi berry which is more classic. Ice Punch on Shifu helps with Dnite / Clodsire mainly.

(sorry Roxie this one seemed to be appealing)
