Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yes, I believe so. It's in the entire area unfortunately.

Ugh, and the only other place to catch them in HG/SS Safari Zone. And here I thought I'd finally be done with it. >_>

Ok, so by the same logic, if there were 4 wandering NPCs, and I VS Seeker'd and beat them all, they would remain stationary even if I left the screen, but stayed on the same route, right?

The Lake of Rage Gyarados is just Method K, like everything else, right? I thought I read somewhere that it was Method 1, but that doesn't make sense to me.

Ughudu, that thing messed me up completely. It's not Method K unless ELM responses matching up to things doesn't advance the frame on it. I tried it and hit my delay/seconds, advanced the frame, and got something weird, XD.

I heard that it's generated the same way chaining is on DPPt, but no idea what that means...

Yes to that last question :)
Just curious, but what are you trying to catch?

Corphish, at Celestic Town. Just trying to RNG some common shinies. :) Now I'm moving on to Poliwag.

Last question about this issue (hopefully): So I defeat the Seeker'd trainers, and then I go to a pond where I can then RNG for the Pokemon. Does reseting the game turn them back into wandering NPCs? Or do they stay stationary until I leave the route regardless of how many times I reset the game?

They should stay stationary until you leave the route :) There'd be little point in using the VS Seeker if it was otherwise ^^
And it's not like things like that haven't been done. People have caught staryus in DPPt and they're only available in two areas with moving NPCs that you can't stop, lol.

Yeah, but I want to try the simpler stuff first without having to deal with uncontrollable variables. :)

... ObviousEnd is obviously RNGing in DPP (since he's trying to RNG in CELESTIC Town, and also mentions Seeker trainers). Mewtwo is obviously not in DPP. :P

I've already RNG'd all the legendaries I need in Diamond anyways (didn't expect you to read my old posts pages back anyways), so wild Pokemon with no/seeker-able wandering NPCs are next, followed by wild pokemon with wandering NPCs that can't be controlled.

If I am consistently hitting odd delays on my HG while attempting to RNG a shiny egg, should I insert Sapphire into my SLOT-2 to get to the evens? Or, should I select a different spread that will land on an odd delay, instead of the 516 delay I'm trying to hit now?

If I am RNGing a Wonder Card pokemon, do I pick up the pokemon one frame shy of the target or do I pick up the pokemon when I am exactly on the target frame? In HG/SS it's still Method 1 right?

-1 frame from target.
No it's under "Wondercard" if it has a set nature, but Method 1 for non-set natures

1 frame away, as receiving the Pokemon advances the RNG by 1 frame. No, they are generated using Wondercard IVs Method, so its method 1 frame + 2 more frames. For example, if my method 1 frame is 5, then my wondercard Pokemon's IVs would appear on 5 + 2 = 7

So im going to RNG a Gliscor on route 34 (i think it is) how would i go about starting this.

EDIT: So im going to try to RNG a stantler but you can only catch it at night. My seed to time says i can only catch it at 9 in the morning so does that just suck for me or...

Two things:

1. Temporarily RNGing in Platinum for the sole legend that I haven't caught yet (except for Arceus), Articuno. Want to make sure I'm doing this right:

Is Articuno always Method 1 in Plat? Cause that's what I've used RNG Reporter to get a spread for it.
-KO current Articuno
-Beat E4 again
-Save in front of Oak
-Reset, change time, etc. until I get the right seed

My target frame is 183. Articuno is the only remaining bird, thus its Monster Frame is 1. Articuno is also then not roaming, since I need to talk to Oak for it to begin roaming. There are no other roamers (caught Cress and Mesprit) Therefore, it's:
183-0-1=182
= 91 Journal Flips

And then after the flips, I just talk to Oak and Articuno should have that spread, right?

2. So I've found a seed for my Diamond that provides me with two shinies in a fairly small number of frames (162 and 224).

My question is, does battling advance the RNG? If so, by how much?

Because here's what I'm thinking:

Shiny 1: Fishing
162 - 4 - 0 (no roamers) = 158
158/2 = 79

79 journal flips followed by using a rod will result in a shiny.

Shiny 2: In a cave (Note, I'm standing in the same spot, and have a sweet scenter)
224 - 162 = 62
62 - 2 = 60
60/2 = 30

30 journal flips will take me to frame 224 for another shiny. But this falls apart if battling advances the RNG.

No, your math is right on the second part. The monster frame -4 from fishing and -2 from sweetscent/cave takes into account the pokemon encounter. Just be sure to check your encounter slots :)

Fainting a pokemon in battle will advance the frame, but you don't do that unless pokeradar (and that's about as much as I know on that, haha).

I haven't tried RNG-ing the Platinum birds yet so I'm not 100% sure. But that sounds right

It advances to the Actual Frame(Occidentary in the new version).

Read my reply to the above. :P

*scratches head*

I have no clue what you mean by, "It advances to the Actual Frame(Occidentary in the new version).", especially "occidentary". Elaborate? While I've seen "Actual Frame" in the RNG Reporter, I actually have no clue what it means or how it affects the RNG (if it actually does).

Don't worry about it for catching. Follow your plan and as long as you have the right encounter slot for that frame, you're good to go.

so im going for a primeape in the cerulean cave (unknown dungeon right?) so do i hit my delay and frame and then advance my frame one before mine taget then run around till i get it?

Actual and Occidentary is the same thing. Occidentary just replaced actual in the newer version. I prefer Actual though.

Lets say you that you just battled a pokemon on frame 10 with an Actual frame of 23. You will be on frame 23 after the battle.

EDIT: @Osostewie You should Sweet-Scent(Walking in a place with pokemon advances the frame). Just make sure that its on the right Encounter Slots. Oh and you should check how many frames your game advances when Sweet-Scenting. You should be on a bike as a pokemon following you around messes with it.

Osostewie: You need sweet scent to abuse in dungeons/grass/water (not fishing). Starting frame for HG/SS in dungeon/grass/water vary with cartridge. It could be 1 or 2 methinks. So you have to find your starting frame to know when to stop before sweet scenting.
