Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

@ Jonny

advanced by only one frame and caught a new (different) zapdos.

Of course you did. You advanced a frame. You caught the next pokemon.

Calcpid gives you the seed for 6 calls past the initial RNG call for the monster (remember your list is backwards since it's inverse calls) and mine gives you the number to actually feed in and regenerate the same monster.

Seriously, can we quit discussing this? It's pointless. The "monster seed" is not useful for anything and I've already got accurtate initial seeding worked out, soooo....

@ Artemis --

Right now the functionality is really only useful for figuring out what your initial seed was which won't help you catch legends. And we're really not at a place where we know how to reliably do that yet, sooo...

So we don't know how to SR legends yet with this method? Well, is there any info going towards it yet? If there is, I can try to do some testing on what we have now.

Also, does that mean that I can't use the things I just found yet? Because that really sucks. That would make an epic Gira-O.

Okay, testing egg PID generation.

Approximate Starting Time: March 29th, 2009. 12:44.
ID: 18491
SID: 14708

Wild Pokemon Caught: Staravia
Nature: Gentle
IVs: 16/27/4/23/8/21
PID: D505F181

Initial Seed: 8D0C026A

Egg Obtained without doing anything. No Poketech changes, nothing, just obtaining it. (AKA: Coin Tosses: 0) And, yes, egg was generated after I reset the game, so with the inital seed listed above.

Nature: Timid
IVs: 17/19/27/20/31/0
PID: B34930B4

After one coin toss, then getting another egg: (AKA: Coin Tosses: 1)

Nature: Hardy
IVs: 11/14/21/31/31/15
PID: 7E7A52AF

Another Coin Toss, then getting egg: (AKA: Coin Tosses: 2)

Nature: Naughty
IVs: 5/31/7/7/8/25
PID: 6BD2827

And of course, all PIDs were checked after I was done with Pokesav. All this was done in one reset.

As for parents, it was a random Magikarp and Ben's ditto holding nothing.

To answer someones question earlier, everstone still works. I'm not sure if it affects you getting a shiny or not.

Has anyone else successfully gotten a shiny?

Can you set the shinyness, and every egg after that is shiny? Or does it only work once?

And if anyone knows the Fast Hatch code for Plat, I can't find it. It just won't work for me. PM me to help please?

Awesome awesome torso (who cant get calcpid.exe to give him "the list") ...

00009‰ñ–Ú,7E7A52AF,‚ª‚ñ‚΂è‚â,2,175

00011‰ñ–Ú,06BD2827,‚â‚ñ‚¿‚á ,2,039

Those are your two results, right there.

Why they start at 9, I am not sure yet.

Could someone upload the Calcpid.exe thing and rehost it or something? It doesn't work for me.

I'd like to do more testing, but I need it to work. Doing more tests now.

Torso, try opening the zip folder via windows (right click zip file) and "explore". and then copy it ALL out into a folder.

I think you didnt create folders and it cant create its text files.

Okay, thanks. But that made it so I lost all the data I just typed in, dammit.

And, that didn't work either, which is fucking pissing me off.

Everstone will artificially advance the RNG to the next spread with the desired nature, so I can see it messing with things. Does it mess with shiny eggs even when the nature of the PID would be the same as the nature of the mother holding the Everstone?

Well, the Everstone does two things:

1) Calls the RNG for the 50% chance.
2) Then changes to a different spread if that works.

So it could mess with it twice. *shrug*

It doesn't like my seed... I put it in and get an error.

"730C026D" ????????????????

Am I doing something wrong?

Syberia- not sure if the pid would result in the right nature + everstone for it because I never checked. I may have found the fast hatch and fast egg code.

Pink - you need to have 0x(Seed)

Thanks! It worked now.

27692‰ñ–Ú,EDF98776,‚Ì‚¤‚Ä‚ñ‚«,1,118,š

I'm guessing I should do the 492 one?

Anyways, second test.

Approximate Starting Time: March 29th, 2009. 13:25.

Wild Pokemon Caught: Bibarel
Nature: Mild
IVs: 31/27/823/29/16
PID: 7425CA42

Egg obtained, nothing else done but catching the Bibarel:

Nature: Serious
IVs: 1/31/023/8/18
PID: 592ADFBC

And when I look in the list for it:

00001‰ñ–Ú,592ADFBC,‚Ü‚¶‚ß ,1,188

Conclusion: Egg count does indeed start at one... I suppose that something I did in the first test advanced the RNG by 9, but I'm not sure what that was.

00010‰ñ–Ú,33C840CE,‚·‚È‚¨ ,1,206

It goes from one up.

EDIT: No shiny! >:O grrrr. Should I start over by catching a pokemon?

Yeah, Mingot and I concluded that. So, a lot of things advance the RNG, it seems, so saving with the Friendship checker app open is a good way to start. That or the Coin Toss, depending how far away the spread is.
