Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Got a question again. When I RNG, these are the values I always put in the PikaTimer 2.0:

Calibrated Delay: 480
Calibrated Second: 14

When I put my Wanted Delay in it, with the Wanted Second, I always end up with a Total Change of -14. That's when I checked my delay with calling Elm. When I got that -14 change applied, and do another run, I end op on 1 sec TO early. So let's say my time is 14:32:34, I suddenly hit 14:32:33. For that, I had to add 0,5 sec to my first timer, and with that, I can hit my delay right away. But, my question, how come that I have to edit the timer so much before I can hit my delay right? Do I need to calibrate?

Use Zomgtimer. Pikatimer is infamous for problems like this.

I had exactly the same problem, and I think I know why it happens:
When you soft-reset your game when the first timer hits zero, the game
actually starts loading (and therefore starts the delay counter) when you
RELEASE one of the 4 buttons, not when you press the last of them. Try
holding Start + Select + L, and only press R really really briefly when the
timer hits zero. Should make a difference of about -14 to -16 in the
Total Change department.

Another thing I observed:
If you want to hit a certain second (which is always the case) along with a
certain delay, it's beneficial if you set the DS clock and then start the
Timer around 0.5 seconds later.
This way, you always press A within the
one-second time window you're trying to land in, but if you have to ajust
your delay and make it a bit shorter, you'll still land on the second you
want; if you set your DS clock and start the timer at the exact same time,
you'll miss your second by one if you press A just a tiny bit too early.

Is there any way to run the Zomg timer, Rng Reporter and maybe PokeRNG/JavaRNG on a Mac?

JavaRNG and Zomgtimer just require Java. That comes already installed on OS X. And if you'd read the first post you'd see that there's information about running RNG Reporter on OS X in the third post. You'll need Mono (in the post).

I assume you're using Pikatimer since I took this into account when I created mine. The better way to accomplish this is to just add half a second to the first timer rather than wait.

I wasn't able to find the seeds I was looking for on the spreadsheets, so can someone help me out?

I need a Timid seed with ability 1, with any good hidden power, produces female, and on Encounter slots 3,6, or 9.

Also looking for a Calm seed with ability 0 and HP Ground, gender doesn't matter but it needs to be Encounter Slot 2 or 3.

For timid you can try this one:
2D040D85 Ability 1 HP grass 70 :)

The encounter slots for inside Mt Silver are wrong. I had a very similar problem when going after Misdreavus. Your best bet is to test out the different areas to see which one has the Larvitars you want. I believe the Encounter slots list Misdreavus on 1F, but I found her on what the map says is 3F. Sorry for the bad news, it'd be great if someone could fix this...

Thanks for the info :) That will save me a lot of time and frustration. I suppose I'll just find and catch one and attempt to RNG the egg, though I haven't done that type of RNG before. I guess it's my only option, short of researching all the encounter slots on all the floors of mt silver.

Hi everyone.
I really need help on hitting my delay when I'm trying to abuse my ID/SID.
The delay that I hit the most is 5183.
So can anyone tell me how to do it please?
ugh I should it asked Winters Zombie instead of thinking that it was like hitting a normal delay. x(

Basically it's like any other delay. When using a timer, you input your minimum delay, and the delay you're wanting.
But since you keep hitting 5183 I suggest leaving the timer alone and finding an ID/SID that is on the delay of 5183 rather than messing with the timer too much.

And hai again! ^_^

oh thank goodness you are here!! ^^
okay so I put my regular minimum delay?
like for example in the pikatimer I will put.
Min delay: 487 Max delay: 5183 Calibrated second: 14 wanted sec: 50

like so? :o

Well, what did you have the delay set as before when you kept getting 5183?
As you should leave it as the one you had before to still get 5183 rather than a new different delay.

Well ok but the issue is that I don't know how to set the pikatimer to hit that delay.

well... I mostly hit delays around 5000-5100( or any other number that have 51xx but I don't get to the 5200's)

You said a few posts back that you keep hitting the delay of 5183. Or is that the delay you're aiming to get?

Yes I'm aiming at the delay 5183 because is the one I hit the most. I got an PID, then put it into the pandora's box, and I did get an delay of 5183 with ID/SID and a seed.
I put the seed into the seed to time, and generate it.
I pick a time and thats where I get stuck, don't know how to hit that time.

Well, when you have Pikatimer ready to go, it will say to the right side in the middle "minutes before"
Which means, if you're going for 5183 that is about 1.4 minutes.
So Pikatimer will say "2 minutes before" or something along those lines.
Which means if you're going for 10:10:15
You would set the DS clock to 10:08:00 than start the timer and the DS clock at the same time, and when the second timer ends, click the A button on the last message before you get to the shrinking screen.

IV manipulation is the singular reason why RNG in DPPt is atrocious compared to HGSS. There are about 6 NPCs that constantly roam, making your window to grab the egg extremely small.

My best suggestions:

1) Low frame number - this should be obvious, but sometimes odd/even makes this a bear
2) Save timing window - try and time your save to immediately after the visible NPCs make a move. Do your best to get a good grouping of movements
3) Journal on game entry - Save your game in such a way (date/time) that the journal WILL pop before the game world loads. I typically always know exactly what page will be popping up as well
4) Troubleshooting - if you swear up and down that you've done everything right, a single piece of data is probably wrong. Double-check your roamers, your seed, odd/even delay, timer, journal flips calculations, everything
5) Path of least resistance - Trade your pokes over to HGSS and RNG breed there

Hope any of these suggestions help.

I'll retrace all my steps and do exactly so. Thanks for the help, really appreciate it :D

Can anyone explain to me how to RNG abuse pokewalker pokemon, or better still, redirect me to a good guide/explanation?
And also the same about how to RNG abuse using encounter slots for wild pokemon?

Just need something to explain the steps of what i must do etc.
I'm familiar with the stationary method K and method 1 gift pokemon RNG abusing

thanks.

anyone???

The newest version of PokéRNG has encounter slot support (double-click on a spread to list all possible encounter slots and their frames). I've finished an update for it that adds searching by encounter slots; this will be up within the next few hours.

BTW, to search for Pokéwalker frames using PokéRNG, set the year to 2000, and the minimum and maximum delays to 0 and 99. Remember that the Pokéwalker frame is the method 1 frame + 2. That way, you'll only get seeds that are possible on the Pokéwalker. See Wild Eep's guide for info on natures (my post is really just a collection of info; Wild Eep's is more of a guide).
