Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I have a technical problem here

Since I am using the first ds that came out (so old omg XD), after you set the time in the ds settings, there is no way you can start the game without turning the console off, so, should i click confirm on the time, run the first eontimer simultaneously, turn off the ds, turn it on, and wait for the first timer to reach 0 and then click on the start game?

Yes.

uhm, maybe I did something wrong, this is what I did:

1. looked for a random seed on PokeRNG
2. Clicked copy seed to clipboard on PokeRNG
3. Clicked on Seed to time on RNG Reporter
4. Copied the PokeRNG seed into the Seed (Hex) space
5. Set year to 2012 (thats what I used on PokeRNG)
6. Didn't click on the seconds
7. Clicked on HGSS
8. Clicked Generate
9. Chose the first result and clicked on the second generate
10. Used the first result as my target date time and delay

something went wrong?

Were there multiple seeds in your seed search? PokéRNG sometimes ends up copying the wrong seed.

so finally I am starting to progress a little bit

I have been trying to hit a delay of 1328, I remember hitting 1334, 1336, 1324 and some others. Supposedly, I am still on the "calibrating phase", so I am not really trying to catch or hatch anything, just trying to hit a specific seed.

My question: on the eontimer, how many times should I use the "delay hit" function? I have used it like 10 times and consequently updated like 10 times, changing my calibrated delay like 10 times.
Am I supposed to do this, or only use the "delay hit" function once, and then keep trying a thousand times until i hit the desired seed?

You should make as many as it takes to get to a close range(+ -2 of target delay or +-4 sometimes)and then it is not necessary(unless you are constantly hitting a seed different from the one you want).Always button mash so as to get consistent results

another thing, after I hit the desired seed (if I ever do :S) is my calibrated delay likely to remain consistent for any future RNG capture/hatching I perform?

and, after I hit this seed for example:
PID: 5CDD72C5 (Lax, ability 1), IVs: 29/31/29/31/26/31, seed: 530B053C, delay: 1328 (year: 2012), method 1: 220, K (synch): 189, K (no synch): None, HP: Steel 66

(I am trying to catch a random wild pokemon on a forest)

I understood on previous guides that you start with a frame of 1, so if I call irwin 10 times my frames would increase to 11, then I have to advance my frame all the way to 188, and then use sweet scent (which is a +1 frame?) and then encounter my desired pokemon?

if so, I can advance the frames by calling irwin 10 times (seed verify), then 188 more calls, then use sweet scent?

I've noticed that if you go for high delays(~5000 or more if rnging for ID/SID)you will need to update some times but in the low ranges it will most likely remain the same.

You start with a frame of 1 IF there are no roamers and no NPCs around
and sweet scent advances 2 or 3 frames not 1.It will be consistent though(always 2 or always 3).So in your case you must advance to 186 or 187 and sweet scent

Also since you are going through this process why don't you use an actualy useful seed with a not so useless nature:P

yea i just changed the seed because i was too lazy to reach a 189 frame to get a shiny oddish XDXDXD

by the way, what is the difference between method k (no synch) and method k (synch)

and how can I use the radio to advance the frame faster? I remember someone explaining so

If you are using a synchronizer or not.Check out RNG Reporter if the frame you want is syncable or not

Well just use the radio and after some advances call Elm/Irwin to locate your frame and when you are about -10 from target frame use calls again
189 frame is not really that high with radio you can adavnce really quickly:P

EDIT:Lol sorry that is in 5gen.What i meant was that using a sync can cause a spread to appear multiple times and perhaps with different encounter slots or not at all without sync

and sweet scent advances 2 or 3 frames not 1.It will be consistent though(always 2 or always 3).So in your case you must advance to 186 or 187 and sweet scent

Wrong! Sweet advances by 1 or 2, not 2 or 3 (assuming HGSS). If you're on water though, then it advances 2 or 3. In DPPt it always advances by 1. ;)

Do you have a Pokemon with the ability Synchronize and the right nature?

in my party?

Edit: I have another question. Since I don't seem to hit the correct frame to capture the desired pokemon being on the correct seed, I captured the pokemon I encountered. How can I know what frame this pokemon belongs to?

Yeah, in your party. Specifically, at the front of your party (otherwise it won't work). If you don't, then use K (no synch).

You go to the main window of RNG Reporter and make the method Method K (assuming you're catching wild pokemon). Then paste your seed in the right spot. Then, where you see the space where you can enter IVs, type in the captured pokemon's IVs and then press generate. You can also pick the nature, ability, gender, and encounter slot you got. If you can't check IVs, just enter the nature, ability, gender, and encounter slot then hit generate. You'll need the IVs to be the most exact, though.

Alright thanks. 5000 seems too low to get to that, What is the common calibrated delay for DPPt? It says to leave it be but mine is set to HGSS.

EDIT: Also Sinjoh Ruins Pokemon are Gift so Method 1? Never mind.
