So I thought I would RNG my TID/SID for a shiny Modest/Timid spread in HG. The problem is that I can't for the life of me find a flawless spread to make shiny in the time finder, capture section. Is there a recommended PID for this? Thanks.

At least for Method 1, I don't think there's a flawless Modest frame, but I know there is at least one flawless Timid frame.
Since Method K is derived from Method 1, that means there should also be a flawless Timid frame for Method K.

It varies widely with luck. It took 3 tries to get my Shiny Abra, but I accidentally saved after getting it with horrible IVs, and it took 3 days to get the same Abra again.
As for Split frames, you'd think it would be consistent, but it really isn't. It's very common to hit, say, both 2391S and 2391 on successive attempts.

The way Synchronize works in Emerald is, if it activates (50% chance), the RNG fast-forwards to the next frame that has the matching nature. That's why it's skipping ahead.
For that reason, you generally want to hit your target frame a tad early when Synchronizing.
I'm pretty sure i've experienced the frame advancing backwards every now and then when using a Synchronizer.
I've also experienced ''resetting'' alternate spreads to normal by simply walking into the daycare house and opening the PC.

Yeah I finally found a Modest/Timid frame using method K, I think. I solved the problem by increasing the delay. I have another question though, would TID/SID abuse still work if I used method K instead of method 1?

Do you mean if you picked a Method K PID to abuse your ID/SID for? If I understood the question correctly, then yeah that will work.

Is there a version of RNG Reporter newer than 9.96?
The version posted on the OP is the newest version available.

Cool, I figured that by using method K I could use the same PID to get Kyogre, Mewtwo and maybe even a few shiny flawless dittos. Thanks.

Edit: I'm still failing at TID/SID abuse... I can't seem to hit a consistent delay. Instead I get everything from around 5000-6200 even though I keep updating the EonTimer. Just to clarify things, should I change the calibrated seconds to whatever the pandoras box results show? At the moment I'm sticking to the default, 14.

I'm 99% sure that if you try to abuse for Method K, it won't work as you intended.
You MUST abuse for Method 1 according to everything I've read.

To be able to nickname an event pokemon do you need to have only the same id? Or do you have to have the same OT and SID?
It depends on the game you're doing it in. In HGSS, only the TID has to match.

The only Method 1 Pokémon in 4th generation titles are gifts and roamers. Both stationary and wild Pokémon are Method K in HG/SS.

Yes, I'm aware. My comment was in reference to TID abuse. If you want a certain PID/IV combo to be shiny, you must search for it using Method 1, not Method K.

Um... Eyedol is correct. As method K is a subset of method 1, picking a method K spread is the same as picking a method 1 spread. You're making more work and complicating things.

You shouldn't have to change the calibrated second. Are you pressing A at the right times? For the first timer, press A to start the game from the DS menu. On the second timer, press A on Oak's last line, "I'll see you later!"

Everyone must be using a different timer to me cos the second timer ends just before the screen where you click "no info." And yeah I've been mashing "a." What time/delay should I use so that the Eon timer ends at the screen it should? cos I dunno what else it is that's stuffing things up.

You'll need to use a delay of at least 5000 when RNGing the TID/SID. Also, remember to set the Target Seconds to 3 less than what the seed says since you're on HG/SS.

OK so I have found a TID SID which has 5005 for a delay, will this work? and I've entered the following details in the 4th gen tab of the Eontimer:

Mode: standard
Calibrated delay: 5005
Calibrated seconds: 14
Target delay: 5005
Target seconds: 56 (actual target is 59)

Minutes before target: 0
Time: 42:19

Yes, but your calibrated delay should not be so high. For normal RNG abuse in HG/SS, a calibrated delay of around 600 works with calibrated seconds of 14. However, for some reason, it needs to be higher for TID/SID abuse. Try with 660 to start with, and go from there.

495 is my usual delay so I'm gonna go with that. Anyway I haven't gotten my TID SID yet but I'm getting more consistent results that's closer to the results that I want, so thanks.

Then someone should edit the 4th Gen RNG guide, because it supports my statement.

Hey guys, I realize that the 4th gen guide onsite is missing it's pics, so here's a version that has them. http://tinyurl.com/l4pdqym It still has some lingering BBCode so you'll just have to adjust.

Also, here's a list of potential PIDs with pairs that I compiled a long time ago, might be useful for those looking to ID/SID reset.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting PIDs to shinify (For ID/SID resetters)

Note: There are two PIDs listed: one in red and the other in blue. Either one will work and will make both listed spreads shiny.

Additional notes: To use this simply copy and paste one of the PIDs listed for the spread you want into Pandora's Box, which will generate the list of ID/SID combos and seeds/delays for you. Seeds are listed for convenience and are not part of the ID/SID resetting process. They're just there as a reference in case you want to try and catch the shiny.

Rather than ask if it's possible, anyone know why the only method I can find the spread I'm running into in the Safari Zone for Emerald is coming up as Method 1? I was under the impression that Safari Zone captures still fell under Method 2/4 just like any wild capture. Hopefully someone can give me some insight.
