Mingot, I dont know if you've considered this but I would greatly appreciate an option in the RNG Reporter to input your parents' IVs, like emloop has; it could save a lot of time if you have junk parents and are looking for pure 31 IVs (not inherited). Thanks for all that you have contributed to the RNG abuse of D/P/Pt!

That's true, except I don't have a copy of Emerald :/ And I really don't want to go out and have to buy one. Sure, it's not too expensive - still, there's gotta be a way to figure out how the game comes up with that number ;P
 
'Tis I again!

I have a question mainly to Bearsfan but if anyone else can answer it please do.

I have locked myself into a shiny jolly magikarp egg (as you have probably already heard) this means that I have already done poketch taps etc and saved with the guy having an egg. (Day care man, y'know)

I am aiming for seed : DD170260
at date: 28/7/08
at time: 23:25:00
at frame: 9 (but journal flipping once to 11)

So all I have to do is make sure I hit continue at 23:25:00? I saw you didn't use emloop [bearsfan] so have you already calculated the white screen time or don't you need to?

I'm confused again sorry :'(
 
Yeah, that's what you need to do. Make sure your delay stays the same, though; figure out how long it takes you to press Continue after SRing, and actually reset your game that long before.

I find the easiest way to get the right seconds, without an external clock, is to find a seed with a seconds value of 19.
This is because if you change the clock, turn off the DS after the 'Settings saved' message, immediately turn it back on, and mash A, that's the time that elapses from when you changed it. It means you don't have to synchronise it with an external clock, allowing you to abuse on the move (or without a computer).

Only problem there is that you lack RNG reporter :P

- Quickly turn off and start the game
- Done?

If you could illustrate it step-by-step please. I'm that sort of not-quite-grasping-it person lol sorry

what am i doing wrong?
i put in the parents in the daycare
waited for egg save in front of man
egg hatches RNG got nature right
soft reset pick up egg b4 any NPC move fly to route 225 capture a pokemon i put its stats in the seed finder get my seed
click dppt egg pid normal and get a list of IV´s i hatch my gible and give him 49 rare candys and i can t find my current frame
 
Your frame will most likely be within the first 10 results that RNG Reporter gives you.

Make sure you know that IVs of the parents and the order you put them in for the 'A's and 'B's (inherited from the 1st/2nd parent)

- Straight walking advances the RNG by 1 seed per step. The RNG is advanced even if there is a repel in use.

I gonna try to catch a shiny Ghastly in Old chatau, does this work in Old chateu too? And how much does the frame advance when using Sweet scent there?

I put my trainer code into binary but it's not 16 letters? It says it's 18 letters? my trainer ID is 63429. what do i do? :o
 
Is there a way to do this with PokéRadar pokemon? I haven't found one.
I've done a few RNG pokés now, and I was just curious.
I found a decent spread for Shiny Calm Ability 1, and want to use it on Togepi.
But in Platinum the only way I can do that with catching the Togepi is to radar it on Route 230.

Has someone found a way to reliably RNG Radar Pokémon?
 
We know that it advances the frame by 15 when using it. But I'm not sure if it will guarente that the pokemon for that spread will be it. It can't hurt to try.
 
Hmmm, so when you activate the radar, it advances frame by 15.
And walking through the grass advances 1 per step, and turning and walking is 2 advances.

Now, what exactly does 'turning and walking' mean? Is that 180 degree turn, or even the 90 degree ones?
I don't want to mess up something so simple.

I've RNG'd fishing for a Magikarp and standing in front of Azelf, I haven't done a grass one yet, so sorry for the dumb questions.

Ahhh... I know what I did wrong, I used Hex instead of Dec. Anyway, hopefully I'll have mastered RNG within a few days ^^. I want that shiny and good stat'd pokemon =]
