yeah this happens to everyone, for some reason diamond and Pearl aren't affected by removing or inserting a cart. The delay changes from odd to even and vice-versa at random. So you'll just have to keep trying until it changes or change the year
 
I don't think that's intirely true though. My Diamond version is the only game I've abused eggs in, and I've used GBAs to control my even/odd delays numerous times (you can see so just from my thread). I even used it earlier today when I breed a Bellossom and Drapion. I guess I'll just have to switch to a different spread for now.

hmm guess its just me and a few other people
 
I mean I've heard it happening where it doesn't work, but I've had enough success that I don't see why it just randomly changed on me and won't go back. Maybe someone else can help me.

EDIT: It just changed back to odd. Testing with a GBA in again.
 
What are some of the early quad-flawless Method 2 spreads in Emerald? I only know of these:

10849 (3:00.81): Serious, 31/31/31/31/0/10, F/M/M/F
15560 (4:19.33): Docile, 6/27/31/31/31/31, M/M/M/M

...but if I recall correctly, there are more.
 
Question for wondercards: If I have an odd frame and try to talk to the deliveryman as soon as I close the journal, but an npc moves anyway, is there anything I can do about that?
 
I'm trying to catch a cresslia with a frame of 2849 and seed of 5a000266. Since its method 1 and i have no runners is this what i'm looking for
(2849 - 5 -0 )/2= 1422 journal flips? also how do i tell if i need a synchronizer for method 1?

that's correct for the flips and you can never use a synchronizer for method 1 pokemon or better yet they don't work for method 1 pokemon
 
Your math is correct, as long as it's starting frame is 5. Also, you won't need a Synchronizer for it. Just remeber that it's IVs are set when you talk to it, not when you battle it. Other than that, good luck.
 
Anybody here know anything about Egg IV abuse in HG/SS? I'm working on a poke, and am having trouble hitting the frame I need. For example, I tried this seed:

| D2080210 | 7 | B/31/31/B/B/31 | HP ELECTRIC 70; HP GROUND 70; 31 All Ivs
(mentioned in the RNG Research thread)

But I couldn't seem to hit frame 7 for the life of me. Now I realize that I "could" have just been unlucky, but I verifiably hit frames 6 and 8 several dozen times each before trying a few other seeds. The other seeds seem to be giving me the same results too.

I was using the NPC moving at the bottom of the route to advance my frame to 7, and was timing it with a stopwatch, but I was getting results like this:

wait 5.5 seconds = F6
wait 5.6 seconds = F6
wait 5.7 seconds = F6
wait 5.8 seconds = F6
wait 5.9 seconds = F8
wait 6.0 seconds = F8
wait 6.1 seconds = F8

etc, etc...

I also, re-saved several times incase he was twitching like crazy righ there between frames 6,7, and 8, but each time with the same end result, "seemingly" skipping frame 7.

Anybody got any advice?

I'm using that same seed for my current breed, using the same method of using the NPC to advance my frame, although I'm using 1 second intervals, none of the egg IVs I'm getting match up on the seed, how are you confirming F6 and F8?

Well, I always wait between 5 and 6 seconds to get the egg, catch a poke in the grass right below to check my delay/seed, and then I hatch the egg to check it's IV frame. It's IVs keep showing up as either:

F6 10/24/22/B/B/B
or
F8 31/B/31/18/4/A

Just realized that Frame 8 is 31/B/11/18/4/A not what I listed above, so maybe I wasn't hitting F8 after all @_@. That doesn't make much sense?! Unless it somehow inherited either 31 in Def from the mother OR father (in this case) over the 31 it "should" have (no power items here).

Really confused now.

You know, when I get back from church this morning, I'magonna slap a power item on one of the pokes and see if I can't get that "Frame 8" that I've been hitting to pass on the SDef IV too, cuz honestly, I'm not really to concerned about "doing it correctly" at this point as I am at JUST FRIGGIN DOING IT! :P

Thanks I'll keep on trying I guess. I don't have an AR so I fly to Mt Silver and climb to the 1st floor outside where you can catch a level 51 Golbat etc to check my seed that way.

Anyways, have you tried de-tuning the radio to advance at all? I seen Viletung did it once and it worked for him.

EDIT: Thats my point, I keep getting odd IVs pop up that dont belong to either parent or any frame near where I'm aiming for.

That thought crossed my mind, and you know, actually it makes sense, but as often as I've re-saved to make the NPC move differently than before, it still keeps skipping that frame. It's worth a try though. Thanks for the idea!

Just 1 detune on the bottom Right I suppose?
 
Thanks for the idea. I'm gonna quickly try...

1) start the game, position my radio to the bottom right, and resave
2) try to "calibrate" to see what frame I can hit with IMMEDIATELY opening my radio, DOING NOTHING, closing the radio and IMMEDIATELY picking up the egg (both on and off my seed).
3) adjust from there and see what it gets me...

I do know from prior experience though that the radio is notoriously inconsistent. It gives different advancements based upon what seed you hit. However, I have had some luck with it before on stationary legendaries and the like.

Crap! The bottom Right doesn't seem to advance the frame when on that particular seed, at my particular time. I'll try the bottom Left now...
 
I don't think it is possible. I've heard it COULD be, but that requires major moding of your game. I've heard that it's frame advances even when it's not in use, and doesn't reset. So theoretically you could, but you'd only have one chance to hit a certain spread.

jejej I asked the same question some time ago.

It would be possible, but since there is a clock, you can't calculate the time you enter the game.
Now, if you took a part from the game, you could but it's not worth.
 
Breeding question:

TheFrozen did a BP for me,and made the poke hatch shiny in her game.However when i got the egg,which was not supposed to hatch shiny on my game,it "came out of the egg shiny" but turn out normal(as expected) when i checked it after.
Anyone knows why did that happen?
 
Well I'm also curious since it "came out of the egg shiny" on pearl too when I traded it over there but it was normal when I checked it after.
 
That happened to me when I hatched AromaFlora's Magby. The shiny Sprite came out of the egg, but when I checked it, it was normal. Pretty sure it is a glitch.
 
It's just an error in the coding. I think that when you get it, the game reads it and determines weither it will be shiny or not and presets the egg video. So when you trade to another game, it doesn't check to see if it's still shiny and goes through it as if it were shiny, but its status changes to normal.
 
Yeah I dont know the answer exactly but its normal and does it all the time to me, like when Frozen traded me here Mudkip using my ID/SID the Video of it hatching wasnt shiny but when I looked it was =)
