Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I have a comment about wondercard RNG abuse. It says that the amount of RNG advances you have to do is (frame) - (# of wondering pokemon) - 1. However, I just RNG'd a Gamestp Deoxys, and amount of RNG advanced I had to do was exactly it was supposed to be (114). I had one roamer out. I tried advancing by 112 (114 - 1 - 1), but it landed me on frame 112, instead of the required 114. Sorry if the wording is wierd.

Comments? Anyone know if it's different for Gamestp Deoxys or if something just went wierd?

Save BEFORE you have an egg. Try to hit seed. "Create" the egg (walking). Save BEFORE picking egg up. Pick up, catch poke to check seed/delay, and hatch to verify. If not, restart game, reject egg, re-save with no egg ready, repeat.

1) 491? Possibly got IVs that "almost" matched frame 8 and when using open search my first wild capture showed up under 491. If it was aand I got frame 8, then I"m right on target, but need to accept RIGHT ON 5 secs no later (i was a bit slow)

Have hit my seed MANY MANY TIMES (much more than 10).
Have verified with IVs AND Wild Captures too
Keep coming up with F8 or F6 each time
never once F7
Even when my "secons past continue" are very very close together
It may be skipping it

Gonna change to a much lower frame seed...


At the suggestion of NewestUte, I'm going to go back and try using the first seed, but attempt to detune the radio in order to hit that frame of 7. My "idea" is to...
1) start the game, position my radio to the bottom right, and resave
2) try to "calibrate" to see what frame I can hit with IMMEDIATELY opening my radio, DOING NOTHING, closing the radio WITH B!! and IMMEDIATELY picking up the egg (both on and off my seed).
3) adjust from there and see what it gets me...

I accidentally opened the menu, closed it, then immediately opened it again (tapping too much upon startup), then I selected the radio with the A button (instead of tapping it with the stylus), then I pressed A again to open the radio to where you can select a channel and all, but didn't select anything. Then I backed out of the radio with B, then out of the menu COMPLETELY with B again and IMMEDIATELY picked up the egg. Gonna try this again, but without opening and closing the menu accidentally this time...

Basically it all boiled down to figuring out that I had to...

1)get everything ready and save on the bottom L radio station
2)try to hit my seed, then quickly open the radio
3)not do anything, but back out with B
4) pause slightly before picking up the egg
and it landed on F7. :P

I have a question. I'm in Platinum, trying to catch a Snover with a specific IV spread. I saved in the grass patch at Lake Acuity (as there are no moving NPCs or hail there).

I can hit my target seed, verify by the coinflip trick, and do the required number of RNG advances. I thought that if I tried repeatedly, I could eventually get lucky and encounter a Snover in the grass patch.

The only problem is I encounter a level 39 Bibarel with the spread I want on the Snover. At first, I thought I might just be unlucky. However, after eight more attempts, I kept getting the exact same Bibarel.

Am I really unluckly, or is this Bibarel always going to appear? Is there any way to make a Snover appear instead?

You have to use Encounter Slots to get the desired Pokemon, on the list of Frames under your Seed right click on them and click Calculate Encounter Slots, and it should show you a list. Find the Frame that matches with Snover's Encoutner Slot by clicking on the link to what game you have.
It also helps if you put in the Nature and Synch nature in so more Frames appear
 
What you need to do is go into the RNG reporter, and find the spread in the main page with it set to Method J and have a synchronizer for what ever nature it is. Right click any of the spreads with the IVs you want, and click "Calculate Encounter Slot". It will have a number beside it for sweet scenting, and three links at the bottom. Select the Platinum one, and a page will be brought up. Find the area you are in on the list, and see which numbers Snover appears on. Then check every frame until you find one where the encounter slot number is the same as the one in the page with the encounter slots. Sorry for the wall of text lol.
 
I have a question regarding Wondercard IV abuse. I abused a Gamestop Deoxys for a perfect 31/31/31/31/31/31 spread. Because the nature given is completely random (or based on a different RNG), does that mean that you can have "illegal" IV/Nature combinations? Because I successfully RNG'd a Jolly Deoxys, and according to Shoddy Battle, 31/31/31/31/31/31 is illegal for something with a Jolly nature :s
 
Yes, you can get "illegal" combinations from wondercards. Most people use the modest hex flawless spread to receive every nature of the poke they're going for.

I think Shoddy doesn't take into account Wonder Cards, but there are a few Jolly spreads that are flawless where needed (unless you want it with prefect special attack as well), so just switch attack to 0-1. I know those spreads exist.
 
I don't see why they wouldn't be. And if so, alot of people would need to be added to the black list for having "illegal" pokemon.
 
Yes, lots of people trade wondercard pokes here. You shouldn't rely on shoddy battle as your source for checking legal IV combinations.
 
Okay thank you very much for clearing that up. Phew...I thought all that effort into RNG'ing a correct-natured perfect Wondercard poké was fruitless. Thanks again :)

Okay, so lemme change my answer to your original question in the simple q's thread. I didn't realize you were going for a wondercard poke. If you want a good seed for HP fire, use: 5407027b

on frame 183 (nice and low) it gives you a spread of 31/14/31/30/31/30 Fire 70.

That gives you max HP, Def, and base power on the HP Fire. :toast:

EDIT: As far as I know, that Celebi was a 3rd gen event. There are no abusable 4th gen Celebi at this time.

in resetting for egg PID's does it matter if i open the happiness checker, but accidentally skip past it. can i just come back to it to do my taps or will that ruin the PID?

i've spend nearly a (fail-filled) hour trying to get a PID, and if i have to reset again, i may chuck my DS out the window DX
 
I'm trying to RNG a Pokémon in the Safari Zone in Emerald, and with a Syncher in my lead slot, I repeatedly run into unwanted natures over and over again. By any chance, does Synchronize not work in the Safari Zone since you have the PokéBlock feeders to (somewhat) manipulate natures?
 
Is there anyone who would be willing to explain in depth how to rng capture as I can rng breed but I want to learn to capture. Anyone who helps can have my first 4 captures plus rights
 
Ok, so I am on RNG reporter and whatnot, I've hooked in all that info. And pressed Generate, where abouts on the reuslts does it say the frame?
