Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

TorsoJuking is great. I just got a 13/31/30/x/23/31 shiny Jolly Chimchar last night, thanks to thetorsoboy's instruction. I'm going for a Naive one right now, and then I'll start on some other ones.

It's very possible, especially if you have the help of Metalkid's calc. Since HP type is determined by which IVs are even or odd, and at L49-50 you can usually narrow down a stat to 2 possible IVs, it can help eliminate some possibilities.
 
If any further confirmation were needed of the accuracy of Mingots program, thanks to it, me and dr00 have just done a run through and have hatched myself a shiny yanma, impish with ability 2 and male, exactly as the program suggested it would be.

Mingot - Also, just saw your question. The errors I got were the ones your previously suggested about Wine telling me to download the Windows version of Mono. I tried Mac Version and it didn't seem to want to co-operate, as in once I installed the Mono 2.4 Framework I had difficulty in locating the application. I tried another program called Cross-over and it didn't seem to like that either, even trying to install the windows Framework and it encountered a problem during install (can't remember what it said now as I have closed it all now). Tried opening with Terminal and X11 separately and got the same responses as what Wine was telling me.
 
Just a question about the foregin parents and the likelyness of a shiny egg: Is the IRNG too broken and that I could just keep hatching and never get a shiny? or will it be fine even though I'm only using the Poketch to check for eggs?

For mac I think you would have to go to a command line and type:

mono rngreporter.exe

No idea about directories on a mac or how you would specify where you downloaded/unziped rngreporter to. If you could try to figure it out, as we didn't get to try what would probably work best.

Ok, so say I want to hatch a shiny in Platinum, but I don't want to use the IV check/RNGReport/Poketch method, I just want to use two parent from different countries, which willl just give me better odds of getting a shiny egg. Will I eventually get a shiny? Or does leaving houses, talking to people and hatching eggs not advance the IRNG?

And does using foreign parents to increases your htaching of a shiny pokemon work in D/P as well? Or only Platinum?

Leave it with me, I will play around with this more in the morning when I am more functioning! I'll see if I can get it running, somehow

We're not sure whether there is an increase in shiny percentage due to parentage in DP, but if you keep hatching eggs in Platinum then eventually you will get a shiny. Every time an egg is produced ithe IRNG advances by one, so there is no chance you'll get trapped on the same numbers over and over. I think that's what you were afraid of. So yeah, if you aren't planning on using Mingot's method, sticking international parents in the daycare will eventually produce a shiny.

Awesome. Thanks very much. I guess If I don't turn off the DS I keep the same seed and will eventually get my shiny.

Question about the IV checking code that lists the IVs in your first six TMs: Are the IVs listed HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe? That could be why I was getting bad results when looking for the seed, I was using that order when they were in a different one...
 
Hatched 22 shinies now =D
So, is there an easy way to pass IV's from parents?

I know I can reset for IV's, but breeding is faster.
 
I've hatched 5 shinies so far, all with very nice IVs, but two of them I need to re-breed with the right ability.
 
Confirmed: Japanese Ditto + US other parent also counts as International.
Used a Ditto from my Jap. Diamond and a Shellder I just caught on Platinum. I checked if the frame I was going for was for both normal and international, but it wasn't =)
 
Because I'm not playing with a flashcart =[. And, there are no rebattle codes as of yet. But, If my research ever proves to get me what I want, I'll have a 31/31/31/31/31/31 Timid Azelf soon.

Besides, I can get that same spread back with not too much work.

OK, so you're doing re-search about getting awesome spread? Well I have much respect for people who are doing re-search, I can only wait and benefit.

Besides, I can get that same spread back with not too much work. Wow, well can't wait to get Shiny Pt Legends.

Why can I not get my delay to be aorund 600? Always goes like 1000+ ish. ;_;

Does lower = less tapping I'm assuming?

Halp would be awesume! ^_^;
 
You don't need to synch anything. To get low delay, you need to just smash A through the beginning screens, and load your save as quickly as possible. that's the only thing. Delay is the amount of time spent on the Screens before you start your game.
