Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yes, most of the math involved is in the first post, but the initial seed finding is not actually documented very well. If you really want to do it by hand I can go into the details with you via PM, but be warned that it's likely going to take you some days to actually do it by hand. In particular, going from IVs to seed will require you to do 65535 calculations and then there are a few thousand more after that to plow through the probable seed candidates.

Is there a particular reason that you don't want to use the program?

Mingot, im a little confused, all i have to do is follow these steps and download the seed program and then I got my shiny?

The simple seed finder is if you know your seconds and delay, which is hard to do. Currently ha a bug which should be fixed in new version.

Seconds do matter, just write down the seconds when you hit a.

also just got it to work on a bold nature, just testing it so i grabbed a ditto and staryu (IVs aren't great and since I was testing I didn't bother to save and SR, 24/x/6/10/5/22 lol). i don't trade anymore but this is interesting.

a few things though...

does cloning a pokemon affect things at all?
has anyone else been getting the same nature almost every time they start the game for the random wild sweet scented pokemon? (i've gotten naive almost every time for mine)
what is the lowest number of taps/flips? (just to see if it worked I have been going for a low one, and i believe i got a very very low seed with a 12 tap, 6 flip combination.)

hi battlus long time no see!
as far as I know cloning won't affect the process at all and the lowest possible number of taps/flips is 0/0 i.e just make the egg and receive it from the day care.
As for the naive nature on the caught pokemon, must be a coincidence

if my happniess tap is 11 and my coin flip is 5 does that include switching to happiness? or do i do 11 after i switch?

will my results be affected if my female holding an everstone but has the same nature as my target seed?
EDIT: NVM It worked :)

YES!!!! i got it to work!!!

I got a shiny riolu, bad spread though, but im still happy i got it to work!!!!!

And also im another who proved it working on Diamond :)

Remember how I made a disclaimer that I might start shiny breeding?

I tried learning from the OP a while ago but it didn't make sense to me, so Lorak gave me a dumbed down version of the procedure here. I'm not entirely sure how to use the RNG Reporter since I never needed it for Emerald, and I didn't really see this answered in the RNG Reporter thread.

This is really a pretty simple question because I think I get the rest. Now, after I enter the nature/IVs of the wild poke I sweet scented, and I find results... the fourth bullet says to find the one with the "delay closest to 600 seconds." Is this number under the "delay" column, and if so, what unit are those numbers? Sorry if this is a moronic question.

The one to the far right

i dont think its relevant just need to know which one to click. another question i encountered while doing this...

i had one box that offered a delay of around 430, and another in the 600s. I chose the 430 one just to see what would happen and it didnt work (which may have been user error I admit).

anyone else find a low delay like that and use it successfully? and is there anything that determines how quickly you can get your shiny spreads? (waiting for a certain time, maybe exactly on a minute mark or something like that?)

If you have any specific points that were confusing (besides the flub below, which I will correct) I will try to address them. Also, make sure you are using the 2nd part of Loraks guide.

Delay the number of seconds between reset <--> hitting A on the continue screen multiplied by 60. As it is multiplied by 60 I should not be referring to it as seconds.

EDIT: Ah Lorak calls it seconds. I will let him know about it.

@ Battlus -- Anything below about 575 is always going to be wrong. I will update RNG reporter to no longer present those.

So I should be specifically aiming for a number ~600 in the far right column, or a number that is roughly 600 when divided by 60?

OK, just thought I'd check since I've been consistently getting rather high numbers. Thanks

I'll update when I have more questions/when I get my first shiny egg.

I got it to work for a 777. So even around there works. Also nature I wanted was the first one. And it was only 41 taps and 2 flips. How lucky. SR'ing brave beldum now :D shiny
