Also, when do I enter my SID/ID, and check Plat Id (Normal) and the Shiny box. Before catching the Pokemon or after clicking Find after entering it's Ivs and Natures?

Also, why do we need to note the time of when we started?

If you carefully read the instructions in the original post, you should be able to figure it out eventually. There is no simple explanation for it, because it is very much a process indeed to get a shiny egg.

Oh, alright, I think I've got it.
This is my final question, I think I've got the hang of it, but do we have to deposit the caught Pokemon into the PC?

Also, you know we have to start off with 5 Pokemon? Can 2 of those 5 be the Pokemon we're going to put in the daycare?

So, as soon as we know how many Taps/Flips we have to do, we do them, and then immediately deposit my parents in the daycare, and then ride my bike and wait till the daycare guy gets an egg. Is this correct?

So, I don't have to even touch the PC, right?

Perhaps you should try a wristwatch with a seconds hand or seconds display. It completely takes the speed of your computer out of the equation. Plus they look nice on your wrist.

For those with no wristwatches, i suggest this one. thetorsoboy posted this on the Emerald thread, and I found it to be pretty useful. Just don't have any pages loading and you're fine.

Why do we need a wristwatch?

Still no shiny though?
Do we have to do this all in a certain amount of time?

Also, do we HAVE to reset the game, using the L+R and Select/Start?
IF we do have to reset, then how do we reset so that we can still have Fast Hatch/Iv Check on, b/c when I use Select/Start + L/R, Action Replay doesn't work.

I was playing around with the RNG program to help breed for shinies and once, I intentionally unchecked the "shiny" box. Will the restults still be accurate. I obviously won't be getting a shiny, but if it says that with 0 taps on happiness checker and 0 taps on coin toss I get an Adamant natured Pokemon, will I get an Adamant natured Pokemon? I tried this, but I ended up with a Jolly Pokemon instead. Did I make a mistake or is the program experiencing errors when not going for shinies?

One more question: How are all of you SRing for shiny breeds on Platinum? With it being at level 1, IV calculators can't give you a good estimate and all the IV check codes that I know about for Action Replay force you to save with the Pokemon before as they overwrite their stats. Are you just doing this the old fasioned way via rare candy?

You made a mistake because the program is accurate, and that is what you should have gotten.

There are 2 IV check codes for plat, one works on egg, and the other one you can save, it will not cause in error, but that cannot check eggs.
I do not have the one for eggs.

Personally I prefer Pearl version for this. Reason 1 is because it has an IV checker that is usually infallible for me that doesn't overwrite the stats, and I am running an AR-free game on Platinum and I find that this would ruin it. (That is, I don't physically use action replay codes on pearl, but some of the pokemon there had Action Replay used on them for cloning, fast hatch, and fast egg.) Anyways, since this works for all of them, I use pearl and the 3 breeding codes, because I find it extremely difficult without them.

EDIT: Big question. Does this work the EXACT Same way for every person? Or is it influenced by ID #s? Because if it does, I think that just allowing a person to type in a spread and their seconds/delay/offset and whatnot and having it spit out the spread, date, and SR time would be an excellent feature. If this is impossible or is already a feature I haven't found yet, please tell me.

Are the wild pokémon (non-synched) generated by Method 1, 2, 3 , or any other method not included in the RNGReporter?

EDIT: Errm, nevermind, I found the Bidoof's IVs I caught on Method 1. But its offset was 27... And there are no NPCs on the whole map!

You don't want to use AR, but you did use AR and you're using AR now. Huh?

In the 4th gen, they are generated to a method similar to method 1. If you catch a pokemon, get the initial seed, and catch another pokemon, you will find that pokemon in the list generated, but it jumps wildly. I believe mingot is working on this and might need help on it.

Muna, I use that all the time to get a parent of the right gender/nature if I need it, and since I don't have my SID I use it to ignore everstones entirely. Most common mistake is forgetting to put it on the Egg ID option, that's how I was messing up my natures. Other possible mistake was not switching to the happiness application, or moving into buildings with it still on before getting the egg. Lots of little things, but I can vouch that it's accurate.

Has any more come of the offset info? I'm interested as to whether the Continue screen option theory is holding up.

What do you mean info about offset. We know what it is. All I can think you mean a way to control it / make it get a consistent offset. Someone posted a possible way I believe, I haven't tested it. It's on this page or previous.

I see. So, I caught this Starly now, and in the Initial Seed window, it says the offset was 1, but when I clicked the Generate Button (method 1), it returned frame 3. Is it expected to happen because "that's how it works", or is it because of the method discrepancy you just mentioned? And how could I help mingot with this?

RNGReporter is currently using method 1 in all of its calculations, so "that's just how it works."

I expressed myself poorly, what I wanted to be sure is if it would return frame 1 if the method used was [similarto1] instead of 1 as it is now.

lol I don't know. I've been busy running through platinum on rom and making sav files in front of every legendary.

Which reminds me, does synched (and non-synched) legendaries use Method 1 or the similar one?
