Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Okay, I'm still not at the perfect Iv's stage yet, but I'm wondering how you would get a shiny pokemon WITH flawless Ivs?
for captures, that part comes down to luck with your game's ID & SID as they determine which spreads become shiny or not.

for breeding, ID/SID still plays a part in it.

Also, once you get a shiny egg, you start the egg calibration process.
So, you can use the first method to make sure the egg is the right shiny/nature/gender/ability, THEN calibrate to get correct IVs?
Assuming the parents are your Ditto, LF, and something with some 31s, you have a good chance of having a nice shiny then.

Okay I've started breeding for 31 Ivs, Atm I'm just aiming for 3 31 IVs that will be breed into baby 1.
Then baby 1 + flawless ditto = baby 2 with 6 31 Ivs.

This is correct ryt? I'm currently breeding magikarps.
But when i'm generating with the initial seed I get 10,000 frames to search through. Is this meant to be right?

I don't think so, because, if I'm correct, no more than 3 IV's in total from both parents are taken, so you still have to RNG abuse for the three other IV's to be flawless.

I think so yeah. That's kinda good because there will probably be a good spread in it.

Just bumping my own question:

I have already asked a lot of questions, but I'm still confused.

I've saved right before the daycare man, who is holding a male, aftermath, calm Drifloon that knows hypnosis.

I'm looking for this spread:

2009 08 02 | 16:02:14 | delay: 600 | frame: 14 | spread: 31/28/31/A/A/A | H,T,H,T,T,H,T,H,T,H
Wich is good because my average delay is 600.

The first time I just collected the egg, hatched it and checked it's IV's. It appeared I was on a frame of six. I reset my DS, set the appropriate time and date, and SR just as it turned 16:02, to make sure I'd hit continue at 16:02:14.

Then, the journal popped up, and the first page already said I catched a pokémon (wich already counts as one flip). Assuming I was on a frame of six when I started, I did three more flips to get to a frame of 14. I then pressed start and collect the egg before a NPC moves. Then, I try the flip sequence, wich doesn't match at all. When I hatch the egg, the IV's don't match either.

Do I just have to have more patience, and continue doing what I'm doing now, or am I doing something wrong?

I've already been doing this for quite a long time now and it never matches, so I think I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks a lot for helping me!

Okay this is stupid, there isn't 10,000 frames to look through there are 100,000. Do i really have to sit through my afternoon finding the spread which matches my pokemon... Isn't there a shortcut to find the Ivs, like - list all frames that have 31 IV in SpA or w/e?

Wietse is right, only three 31s TOTAL between the two parents will be passed.
Granted, the more 31s you have altogether, the easier this will be.

Yes, output to CSV.
Open that file in Microsoft Excel and sort the columns to your liking.

EDIT: Whoops, meant to go back and edit that into my last post, sorry :(

Omg thank you lol. I would've been here for a couple more years until I found the right frame. ^_^

EDIT: Okay this may seem stupid, whats the best way to search for the spread/frame you need?

Refering to what you asked earlier, you are supposed to use time finder to find the egg IVs you want. You seems to be generating a list and looking for spreads, which isn't right. You do that to confirm the frame you are on for the egg only at first, and it will be withing the first 10.

Wietse - The coin flips are to verify you hit your seed. Since they didn't match, you didn't your seed. Either the delay (most likely) or the seconds was off. When the coin flips match, it means you hit your seed, and should be the right IVs you wanted unless you got a different frame due to NPCs. What you are doing is right by the way. Just need to keep doing it until you get your delay and therefore seed.

Am I the only one who's delay does not switch when a GBA game is plugged in? Or does it have to be R/S/E/FR/LG?

A lot of people either do or don't switch. I don't know if it has to be a pokemon game or not. If that doesn't switch it for you, re-saving may. Or you can be one of those people who can't get it to change when you want to.

Thanks a lot for answering :toast:!

So before I dwindle away my night egg RNG'ing, I want to make sure that is right or wrong :)

Excellent, now to make that Flawless HP Ice Lucario I wanted so badly :D
First I gotta work though X( ... Thanks for always helping out, LF!

I'm not on the time finder thing yet. I'm at the bit where I'm just SR'ing and checking the pokemon itself =/. I'm generating the inital seed under "Breeding (DPPt).
Still comes up with 100,000 results? =/

What part are you doing? If you are doing shiny eggs, you have to use egg pid dppt. If you are doing flawless IVs part, you are doing it wrong.

Frame Calibration Phase

Now that you have collected some data about your average delay and can accurately reset to the specified second it is time to find out what frame you can hit consistently with a particular save. Follow the following steps to calibrate for frame.

1. Place your parents into daycare. The closer these parents are to your final the better. Please make a note of the exact IVs of the Pokémon you placed into daycare and the order that they were placed into daycare.

2. Bike along Solaceon and the adjacent routes until the daycare man is holding an egg.

3. Save your game standing in front of the daycare man before taking the egg.

4. Hatch this egg and make sure that it has the correct Nature, Ability, and Gender. If it does not then release the Pokémon and go back to step 2.

5. As the hatched Pokémon does have the desired nature you should turn off your DS without saving.

6. Turn on your DS and set the Date to at least 2 (verify) days after your current date. This will ensure that the Journal comes up.

7. Reset your game, and then immediately cancel the Journal and collect the egg. Remember to speak to the daycare man as quickly as you can as the frame starts to increase as soon as the Journal is canceled.

8. Immediately catch a wild Pokémon and use it to find the initial seed.

9. Select "Breeding (DPP)" and then click generate with this initial seed.

10. Hatch your Pokémon and narrow down its IVs enough to find out which frame you hit in the generated spreads. When looking at spreads in RNG Reporter, remember that A means the stat was inherited from the parent that was placed into daycare first, B second.

11. Repeat steps 7-10 about 4 or 5 times, making a note of the frame number of the egg each time. We're going to use this number in the next step to find a suitable spread that we can hit with ease.

I'm doing step 10 here. It game me 100,000 frames to look through to find the spread that matched my Ivs for the pokemon i'm breeding =/

Don't look through all of them then. Just look through the first 10. If you want to lower the amount it shows, there is a place that says max results. Just change it to 20 and look through those, and the frame should be under 10.
