Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm trying to hatch a perfect Pokemon.
I've got the nature, gender, ability, and shinyness confirmed, and I'm saved on Frame 2 (sometimes frame 3, because I think an npc is mid-turn where I'm saved so occasionally it comes out 3)
I used the seed finder and go my seed, date, time, and delay, but the frame listed is 2...I'm not sure if this means it's impossible to get a flawless pokemon, or if it means that i don't have to do any journal flips because i'm already on the frame I need to be on...

I'm worried about continuing because the last time I "winged it", I got 10 coin flips that said that I'd hit my spread and gotten a flawless chimchar, but when I saved to insert my AR and check its IVs it was a piece of crap (I can't just soft reset with my AR in because it's busted and I have to take it out and put my cartridge in on the Action Replay screen and i dont know how to time the white screen.)

someone help! :(

EDIT nevermimd, for some reason the "only show one result" box was checked...weird because it's never been checked before -___-

You're fine. You are on frame 2 and if that is your target, you should get the egg flawless unless you get frame 3. Maybe leveling it up some would help confirm you got the right frame.

If this happens again, I suggest you do the calibration with your AR in so you can use the IV check on the egg and confirm it.

Mhm, even though I figured out what was wrong, it's good to know that if I'm already on my target frame, I'm good to go.
If anything that's better since I can rapidly hit Start and then A which i've tested and I hit a delay of 619 and a frame of 2 almost exclusively when I do that :)

yay! ^.6

Just RNGd my first shiny (I was told to start with that before attempting IVs). Took me 2 tries (1st try I accidentally tapped the happiness checker like 498 times instead of 494 >.<).

Anyway, I've got a Worlds Weavile still in the Wondercard on my Platinum. Does anyone know if Wondercards are RNGd like eggs or like catching a heatran (for example)? Just a noob question cuz I couldn't find any info on WCs in that first GIANT post.

It is like heatran I guess. The nature is set I think for that weavile, so you just need the IVs. The frames are 2 different since it uses a different RNG for the PID of the pokemon. When you decide your target frame, generate the wondercard list and find out what frame you need for it. Sandgem town has one moving npc and easy to do it at.

Is Sandgem town the best because the others have more NPCs?

The Pokemart in the Survival area also has one NPC if I recall correctly. Yeah, either of those places will work, as it seems all shops have a number of NPCs in them. Less is better for hitting the correct frame.

Is there a reason why no results are generated after searching for HP Grass Timid Heatran on the RNG program?

I think maybe my SID is wrong. My Trainer ID starts with a 0, and on Words' calculator the 0 doesn't show up since it is the first number. Does the first 0 affect the binary code?

If that's not the reason why, I don't know why it no results came up... I put the current date and time, selected method J, synchronize timid, timid nature, min/max delay as 595/615, max frame as default 10000 or whatever the number was...

I know that when you flip the journal to where a pokemon was caught or defeated, the frame is advanced by two, but I'm kind of confused. Is it when you flip to the journal page where it says you caught or defeated a pokemon that the frame is advanced by two, or is it you flip to the page, that advances it by one, then exiting the page advances it by one?

I'm confused.

My target frame is 197. I have 2 roamers, I am sweet scenting in grass. I take one turn in grass, then do 96 journal flips.

I end up on frame 198.

So I skip taking that turn in grass, and I end up on frame 196.

Can someone tell me what's going on? I've tested out both scenarios twice. Please, and thanks!

The first one. I never flip back the last time and I still get the frame I'm aiming for.

A turn in grass advances the RNG by two, not one. Take a step forward (in the direction the character is facing) in the grass to advance it by one.

That would make sense considering the circumstances, and I'll try it. But, it is clearly stated in the OP that a turn advances the RNG by 1, while a turn/step advances the RNG by 2. One for the turn, one for the step. I am turning in place.

Oh, I thought you were turning and taking a step. If that's the case maybe something else is the factor. Maybe it's a NPC?

I'm at Sendoff Spring, no NPCs. Besides, I'm 1 frame ahead every time, regardless of timing. Just attempted again, only taking a step, same result. If I don't take that step however, I end up one frame behind my target frame.

Heh, it's either one ahead or one behind.

That's really weird. Maybe there's something odd with the roamers, or maybe you have a GBA pokemon game inserted into your DS (I don't know how that'd affect it but..)?

If I start out on a journal page that says I defeated a pokemon, does my frame automatically get advanced by two there? Or is it advanced by two when I flip the page? Because I'm having some problems with my frame... >_<

ive been getting a problem with RNG reporter in the DPPT seed finder where i catch the pokemon then put its stast in and all but when i click find its telling me check the date and time idk why. this problem is frustrating me can someone help

I'm working on a breeding project, and I have a quick question. My target frame is 57, my current frame is 4; therefore: 57-4= 53/2= 26.5 journal flips. How do I get rid of this decimal value? I know that when RNG'ing for Legendaries you can just walk to advance the frame, but how do you account for this when breeding with all of the NPC's walking around?

Face the daycare man from a different direction to change what your frame would usually be or pick a different spread.

I use to wait a little moment before taking the egg when that happens (this worked for me sometimes but it's not 100% safe) or you can just resave to get a different starting frame.

I'm guessing there's no way to ensure you are saved on an odd number frame, because I've resaved several times and only get even save frames
