Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I wanted to get a physical sweeper shinx, but how can I guarantee that it will be a shinx?

Look at the front page, go down a few posts, and it talks about encounter slots. You look at the frames your shiny spread is at, right click it and you can choose encounter slots, and you will find out what number it is. Compare that number with the encounter table for where shinx is caught, and just check the frames until you find one that is shinx.

ok.
so i'm trying the egg iv rng abuse(1st try)
i got my initial seed...found out happiness taps//coin flips i needed.
i did those...
saved in front of the daycare man
got my egg and hatched it.
i got the desired nature//ability
(its a Adamant//Technician Scyther to make things clear)
but now what i want to know is that now that i've got the right nature and ability that i want, can i just keep on soft resetting until i get the ivs that i need?( assuming both parents have 31 ivs in all stats)

i ask because i have no way of checking the offsprings ivs without battling the E4(which affects something right?>.<) or doing an IV battle.(and i read on the video guide somewhere that if you do this, it gives you only once change to get the right ivs.(since you save)

anyway, i just want to know( restating here)
if that now that i have my desired nature and ability can i just keep on sr'ing until i get the right ivs that i want onto my scyther(again, assuming all parents have 31 ivs in every stat).

i hope this makes sense :/ and thank you to whoever can answer this

yes you can now rng abuse for ivs make sure the journal pops up when doing frame calibration

It's impossible to stop non trainer NPCs.

Thats why sometimes IV hatching perfect pokemon is so frustrating
You're best bet is capturing at a different place as Alchemator pointed out

*Cringes*

Any areas where there aren't any NPCs capable of ruining your frame, like at the Waterfall of the Pokemon League for example? That's where I caught my Pelipper. I'm not looking for any Pokemon in particular.

Lake Valor and Verity are quite good - you can fish and walk in the grass, as well as some caves like Ravaged Path and Mt. Coronet. That's where I caught my Nosepass ^^

If you're consistently hitting one or the other just switch your date so your new delay is what you've been hitting. That's how I got a gigas last night.

Thanks a bunch!! I changed it to year 2014 and I got a timid shiny darkrai (albeit with ****y iv's) within a couple of tries!

Thanks to you, I finally caught my RNG'd Starly. I'll post it in the Pokemon Discussion thread later.

:( I really dont get it :(

I know its probably a lot to ask but can somebody help me understand all of this?

No, not with that sort of question.

Come up with a goal and then actually start doing it.

Come back with specific questions about the steps you are having trouble with.

Ok so I have my togepi egg, with the right ability/nature.
I reset my game, cancel Journal then get the egg.
I then find my intial seed using a Magikarp from the lake in the resort area.
Next I hatch me egg, find the iv's then I search for the frame right?
I need to search all 100,000? @_@
And I'm looking for the frame for the egg and not the magikarp, right?

Right. Usually it's within the first 10 frames, you don't have to look far. XD

Well, I'm going to assume you are doing taps right (By the way, start on the app before the happiness app and have 6 pokemon in your party after you catch the wild pokemon and before you do the taps, do those taps, then switch to coin flip and do those taps).

Are both parents from your game? If so, select DPPt Egg Pid (Normal). If you know both parents are both from the same language, do the same. If they are not the same language, choost DPPt Egg PID (international).

This is just a thought, and I hope I don't come across offensively, but has anyone ever given any thought to maybe writing a "noob version" of the RNG guide that was just like...
  1. Save in front of Legendary.
  2. Change date to X and time to Y.
  3. Check coin flips
  4. Journal Flip Z times
  5. confirm stats then save
I guess people might still have all kinds of problems, but a lot of times it just seems people get lost in all the info in the main guide not that's it's bad or anything at all!!!! It's just that sometime simpler people (even like me) just get lost in all the information you know...

You could give it a shot, but if you oversimplify it you'll find yourself answering the same questions over and over and over.

For question #2, how do I know what date and time?

Whats a delay?

How do I know what to hit?

For question #3 compare my coin flips to what?

How do I confirm my stats?

I didnt get what I expected on the coin flips, why?

My coin flips were right, but I didn't get the right monster, what happened?

.....

It's just too much information to have a "short guide" and the idea of a "noob version" is not really workable. There is a lot of information to keep track of, process, and manage.

It's just too much information to have a "short guide".

Completely understood, but I found myself actually writing this simple guide down on paper (without any of the extra info) to help myself "understand" how the process works and it really helped me, obviously along with the more detailed guide and the questions thread also. I do see that such a short guide alone would definitely lead to tons and tons of questions. I just think a clear and simple guide could be a useful additional tool to help some people, such as maybe the aforequoted poster.
