Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

OD, I have one question about your High IVs spreadsheet (found in your sig):
After I input the IVs into Time Finder Capture tab in RNGReporter, the only seed I found (for this set of IVs that is also shiny) requires me to advance about 8000+ frames. Are there any other seeds that doesn't require as much frames advancement as this one?
PS. the PID is 5560732f

This is why I don't use the Time Finder to wild Pokemon IVs. Plug the IVs into the Seed Finder with Open Search checked. It'll give you a complete list of nearby seeds, some with ridiculous delays, but you won't have to advance so far. Just look for a decent seed with a delay below 4000 or so. Then plug the seeds into Seed to Time to find out what's possible.

Damn, I didn't know until now about the open search function, thank you for explaining :D So much easier hitting high delay than forcing myself to call Elm 8000+ times in Bell Tower.
A mini-guide about advance functions in RNGReporter in the future, maybe? :P
Edit: quick question: how many frames do I have to add to get from frame 1 type to frame K type?

Hey, so um, I was RNGing just now, and after hitting my target time and delay, I checked the number of taps on the shiny egg generator and the supposed taps for the Pokemon on Calculate Number of Taps, but the results were different. Should I use the one generated by the Calculate Number of Taps, or should I use the results on the shiny egg generator?

IMO if you are using the time finder of the shiny egg, you probably should use that, but dont quote me on that because I havent rng that way yet.
Can someone do me a favor? To advance frames of eggs in HGSS, can someone check to see if calling wade when he's want to battle will advance the frame by 3? Because I was foolin around to see if calling someone would advance my frames and I notice that my frame was advance by 3 consistently when I call him and when he called me Edit: I Each time I call wade and then generate an egg, the frames had advance by 3. When I tried to call wade more than once, the frames got a little incosistent, it advance by 7

Doesn't one of them take into account the ten coin flips to check your seed? If you're unsure, just work it out for yourself (a coin flip advances by 1, opening up or double tapping the Happiness Checker app advances by the number of Pokémon in your party times two).

Still need more information.. but the basic is you soft reset when the first timer reaches 0... press A like a crazy till you get to the continue screen.. wait there till the second timer reaches 0 and then enter in the game

how do i make a second timer, i can only get 1 timer at a time.

when using emloop... there is a timer that starts when you synch it with your ds clock.... once that runs out... you want to soft reset.... THEN the second timer starts.... its 2 timers within one (I'm assuming this is emloop as most people can't use pikatimer)

oh it goes on automatically? but when i start the first timer goes to 0 and stops.

Did you read the guide? You need to add a value to the box on the right.

sorry, i don't think i need to add more. ok to make it clear, i have a delay of 633 and synched the timer with the ds clock. no need to add .2 to the time since it gives me 10.55 which isn't .8 or higher. after running emloop i didn't get another timer running.

not a rng question but the answer is no. You can also used 7-zip, and etc.

Sorry...I thought it would fall in this category. I don't usually download files like this....And it won't open the RNG reporter......

I rarely leave Stark Mountain/RMT threads.

Well, what timer is counting down? It will first count down the box on the lower right, the second one up. Mine's set to 43.17. Then it will count down the box it calculated based on the input delay; mine's 15.83. Then, those two total my target seconds value of 59. If it's only doing one countdown, it sounds like the righthand box is set to 0; try putting 60 or something in it.

only the box one. ok im going to try that.

Do I need a WinRar License in order to open the RNG Reporter and abuse the RNG?
I'm pretty sure you don't need WinRar to open RNG Reporter, but the answer is no. You can download the trial version of WinRar, then after so many days when it prompts you to buy a license, just close the box and you can continue to use the program.

Now, when RNGing for Cresselia: Can I just hit my delay, set it loose, then catch it with the necessary frames later on? Or do I need to hit the delay and the frames, then set it running and catch it?

It's zipped. Every copy of windows released in the last 8 years will open it with no extra software required. So, unless you have windows NT, 2000, Millineum, 98, 95, or <= 3.11 you can open it.

jno its IVs and nature are dteermined when you release it so you have to hit your delay and do your frame advancements BEFORE letting it run.

Thanks! Any tips on hunting it down without messing up my frames?
once its released its IVs and nature won't change so you can let it run around as much as you want it won't make a difference for its IVs and nature as they were already decided when you released it.

Can someone point me in the direction to a guide to abuse the Starters in HG/SS?

I've been told it's somewhere in this thread.....O_o which will be a bitch to go through it all and before I commit myself to it was wondering if it was "Stickied" anywhere so I can take a look at it.

Well, the bascially accepted method is to find a spread you want with a frame that the starter already has, and then abuse your ID/SID to make the spread shiny.

I think the starter's frames should be on the first page, and the link to the ID Finder programme for abusing your SID. You then just have to try and hit the seed and see if the starter is shiny or not to know if you hit it. There's no consistent way to advance the frames at that point, so going for a zero frame advancement is the best method.
