Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

A minute later? The result is only out by a second, am I missing something?

I'll try that other seed regardless and post back, thanks
If you do it a minute later, you'll get the same seed one second sooner, and it shouldn't affect your timers at all.

All right, real question, now.

Decided to try to catch roamer Latias again, hit my seed, advanced to frame 10 before going outside to see how many frames the Stephen encounter advances. Caught Latias, plugged in his stats to check his IV's, and all I have are just ranges. I have no freaking idea how to see which frame he was generated on unless I have a single number. So now I'm kinda boned unless I get an Action Replay to get definite values.

Do you have any rare candies? Feed a couple to her with Metalkid's calculator and you should get exact numbers. Alternately, you should be able to tell by just looking at the IV frames unless you have several very similar ones next to each other.

You could just RNG it from the champion's room. There are no NPCs so it's easier :)

Hmm, actually I can tell easier than I thought which frame it was generated on, and the best part is that it's not consistent. The first time I advanced it 10 frames during my experiment, and then I found out that talking to Stephen advanced 7 more frames. Then I tried for real and advanced it to frame 35, and found that it advanced by 9 so that I was 2 frames over my target.

I'd try the Elite Four trick, except, from what I understand, there's some special condition that has to be in place, which I am presently unable to meet.

Yeah, it's not consistent, which is why it's better to try at the E4! I'm not really sure which condition you're talking about. All you need is to KO your roamer and have the other two roamers roaming (if you want to use the roamer method to verify your seed). If you want to use the roamer method, then you'll have to get someone else to help because Idk how to use it. If you want to advance/verify your frame with the radio, you'll just need the Kanto radio update and Radioseed (there's a dl link on the first page somewhere).

@Jarop: Try changing your target second (not calib) on Eon Timer to one second earlier than your real target. If you hit one second later than your target, then that means if you make your target on Eon Timer one second earlier, you should hit your real target second. I think :s

@Abra: Well, you can still use the radio :)

I mean KO Latias and RNG it at the E4, using the radio instead of the roamer method.

But, if you really would rather RNG it at the Steven encounter, you'll just have to hope you get lucky with NPC advancements. Try to find out which number they advance by most commonly. Like, you said they advanced by 7 first, then 9. See which one they advance by more consistently and advance the frame accordingly until you get it.

It will only matter if you plan to use the roamer method. But since you caught those two, you can't use the roamer method. So basically, your options are:

  • RNG it from the fan club.
  • RNG it from the Champion's room using the radio

Wait, I was told that in order to do the radio advancement method in Lance's room Raikou and Entei need to have been KO'ed, and I've captured them already. So which is it? Can I use this method as I am, or not?

I'm not sure who told you that xD You do not need the other two roamers to use the radio method to RNG abuse your Latias.

Unfortunately I think you can't :(
The only option is to do trial and error if you hit your seed, by using master ball after beating the E4 on the Lati@s.

If the IVs/nature don't match the target, then try again :(

Good luck! If you have any questions about using RadioSeed, come back and ask.

Edit: Emily, he doesn't need the other two roamers for the radio method. He only needs them for the roamer method.

So I'm guessing there's also some inconsistency in frame advancements using the Lance method, too?

Okay, only way I can be sure of this is to try it for myself. Luckily I have an NDS adaptor to back up my save file in case anything goes wrong.

I'm not sure what Emily was talking about lol, but there aren't any inconsistencies when you RNG from Lance's room (unless you use the wrong radio station!).

Which method is Kecleon in RS and how many frames does clicking "yes" to use the Devon Scope advance? Also, when is the PID/IVs and stuff set? When you select "yes" to use the Devon Scope, or when it says "The startled POKéMON attacked"?

Also, does a spinnign NPC advance the frame at all in RS? It's not moving, just spinning 90º in a complete circle.

All right, now I've got a question about RadioSeed.

In terms of seed verification, when looking under the column "screen output," of the 10 results that it gives you, does it work in pretty much the same way as the Elm Calls, in that the output in-game has to match the sequence? Because for my time I catch the very tail-end of Pokemon Search Party (my time is 21:59, because it's the best way for me to avoid Buena's password), and then it goes into the serial radio drama. So do I just have to wait for the transition and go with the Radio Drama results, or what?

Also, do I have to wait for the next "episode" or advance it by touching the center and then the lower right button?

Don't teach me how to use the whole program, though, please, I already get the idea, just tell me these parts.

Yeah, they work like Elm calls - they have to match a sequence.

I would wait for the time to roll over to 22:00 and use Serial Radio Drama.

I'm not quite sure what you mean for your last question, but this is basically how you advance the frame: You get into the game, and the radio circle thingy is in the middle. Press the bottom right button for Serial Radio Drama. The frame has just advanced by one! Now you drag the circle back to the middle very carefully. Press the button again. Another frame advancement! It doesn't matter how long into the episode or whatever, once you press that button the frame advances. But don't let the episode play for too long, because then it might advance the frame again.

I hope that answered your questions!
