I think the reason why poison isn't super-effective on bugs is because bugs can take a hell of a lot of punishment (I admit, I was cruel--I submerged this poor bug in soap, detergent, etc., and it was STILL alive...plus I read this story of a spider that was dunked in formaldehyde--I can't spell today--with its babies, and the spider curled its legs around the little ones in a vain effort to protect them), plus some species even live in oil.

Um...give Zangoose Cut?

Why does people forget our good old pal steelix. It deserves head smeash and iron head. I mean look at that head. Scizor even gets iron head. Mach punch on hariyama would be good. It learns bullet punch

Head Smash on him should be awful no STAB.

I think poison should beat water, bug, grass & fighting. I always saw fighting as KO-able by poison (probably b/c fighting is NVE at poison)

Poisonous water = kills people
Poisoned bugs = Hello roachkiller?
Poisoned grass = nuff said.
Poisoned fighting = If your veins are poisoned, you're going to die and you lose control of your body..
Poisoned flying = Wings lose control? Not as feasible.
Poisoned normal = This actually suits it more.

Reasonably: Poison should beat Grass, Bug, Normal, & Fighting. They probably wouldn't give Water another weakness, and Flying would be pushing it.

Btw, Vespiquen learns Power Gem too.. not just Corsola.

One thing that has bothered me -- What is feint?

Agreed on some of the poison stuff, poison should be SE on water, bug and fighting in addition to grass. Would make it a viable offensive typing, having Grass as your only SE and an immune makes for a horrid offensive typing and the only thing it has going for it defensively is fighting resist but then it's ground weak, which is pretty much a gamebreaker for a physical wall.

Ampharos should learn tail glow
Hitmonchan should learn sucker punch

All I can think of now that hasn't been said (might have been, didn't read the entire thread).

Pelipper needs Waterfall so he can do four HMs! Also, Beautifly needs Sleep Powder. Nobody else actually cares about NUs, though, so whatever.

P.S. I'm not sure exactly what "Brine" is supposed to be, but why does Hariyama do it?

You guys know that in RBY, poison WAS good against bug, which among other things, made Bubasaur players get owned by Zubats at Mt Moon. I want to know why Drowzee learns Poison Gas.

That reminds me. Why the hell does Hariyama and Makuhita learn Surf??

Rhydon and Rhyperior also learn Surf. Surfing rhino's... thats just great.

cause they swim duh der

Now why the hell doesn't Garchomp learn Fly? Supposedly it can fly according to the Pokedex. But supposedly it can't looking at it's movepool.

because they're fat, and fat guys swim good, nuff said.

and to emu, brine is water saturated with salt. how that translates into a move that sumo wrestlers can learn is beyond me.

and maybe grachomp is another charizard mistake, where they forgot he can fly and didnt give him the HM.

but also in a practical sense, he does has a huge fin on his back, which means there's no room for the trainer to sit. so he's kinda unreliable for transportation.

Ahhh. That's the reason that I had thought that Poison was good against Bug for three generations. Thanks for that little tidbit, but I don't understand how the Bulbasaurs would get owned by Zubats.

Oh, for some reason poison was weak to bug as well. Zubat knows Leech Life, which Bulbasaur was x4 weak to in those days.

...and still is. Leech Life is a bug move.

(face-palm) grass poison not grass psychic!
