[OVERVIEW]
VII has brought a lot of new Pokemon to LC, and one of the best is Mudbray. Its great coverage and defensive stats make it a very good bulky and offensive Pokemon. Its ability, Stamina makes Mudbray able to switch in on most physical attackers. Since Mudbray has a very good base Attack stat, it is a very strong Pokemon even with little investment of Attack EVs, but on the other hand it isn't a very fast Pokemon, only reaching a maximum of 15 Speed. Since Mudbray doenst really fit any specific role, it can be difficult to fit it on a team.

Moves
========
Earthquake is a strong STAB attack that Mudbray should use most often. Rest allows Mudbray to fully restore its health and get rid of its status ailment if it has one. Sleep Talk allows Mudbray to attack while it is asleep so that it isn't completely useless while it is asleep. Heavy Slam lets Mudbray hit almost everything that resists Earthquake while Rock Slide lets Mudbray OHKO some Pokemon such as Larvesta and Dewpider.
Set Details
========
The EV spread gives Mudbray solid bulk with 25 HP, 21 Defense and 24 Special Defense when paired with Eviolite. Stamina lets Mudbray easily switch into physical attackers such as Mienfoo because it gives a Defense boost to live further hits. 116 Attack EVs let Mudbray 2HKO every Mienfoo variant, as well as Mareanie.
Usage Tips
========
Mudbray's Earthquake is very strong and should be spammed, especially when the opponent has no Flying-types. You can switch Mudbray into most physical attackers because the Defense boost from Stamina will let it take less damage from any further attacks, but keep in mind you can't switch Mudbray in versus every Physical attacker. Use RestTalk to restore health when Mudbray is low on HP, as the main purpose of the set is to keep Mudbray alive for as long as possible.
Team Options
========
Flying-types such as Vullaby and Doduo can check Snivy, which is one of the best Mudbray counters. A Gothita variant with Calm Mind and RestTalk can trap and remove defensive Staryu, which is a great Mudbray counter. Fairy-types such as Snubbull and Spritzee appreciate Mudbray's help checking Steel- and Fire-types. Grass-types are good partners since they counter most Water-types. Snubbull, Timburr, and other bulky yet offensive Pokemon appreciate having Mudbray as a teammate, as they keep up momentum and cover each other with good bulk and offensive abilities.

Moves
========
Mudbray's strongest move is STAB Earthquake. Heavy Slam provides good neutral coverage, and hits Pokemon such as Cottonee and Spritzee super effectively. Rock Slide can super effectively hit Pokemon such as Larvesta and Dewpider on the switch-in, as well as Flying-type Pokemon that are immune to Earthquake. Close Combat lets Mudbray super effectively hit Pokemon such as Munchlax, Scraggy, and Ferroseed.
Set Details
========
196 Attack EVs plus an Adamant nature makes Mudbray as strong as possible. Reaching 13 Speed lets Mudbray outspeed Pokemon such as Timburr, Skrelp, and Alolan Grimer. Berry Juice gives Mudbray a "second life" since it almost fully restores Mudbray's HP when used. 116 HP EVs give Mudbray a solid 25 HP stat, and the remaining 36 EVs are invested in Defense to allow Mudbray to live two attacks from Mienfoo.
Usage Tips
========
Mudbray has a good offensive stat plus a good STAB attack, so Mudbray should spam Earthquake the majority of the time. Since Mudbray has Berry Juice, you can switch in on Pokemon such as Magnemite, Croagunk, and Cranidos once and then get back to full HP. Mudbray shouldn't switch in a Knock Off because Berry Juice is important.
Team Options
========
Flying-types in general such as Rufflet can check Snivy, which is one of the best Mudbray counters. Pursuit Pawniard can be a good partner since it traps and removes Flying-types, making it easier to spam Earthquake. Grass-types such as Snivy and Foongus are good partners since they counter Water-types in general. Munchlax has good synergy with Mudbray since it has a very good Special Defense stat while Mudbray has a very good Defense stat.

evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe

Moves
========
Earthquake is Mudbray's STAB attack and most reliable move. Heavy Slam does a good job versus Pokemon that usually resist Earthquake. Rock Slide surprises Pokemon that would live the Mudbray's other moves. Close Combat super effectively hits Normal and Dark Pokemon.
Set Details
========
236 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature lets Mudbray outspeed Modest Gothita and speed tie with Timid Gothita while Adamant only lets Mudbray tie with Gothita at best. 196 Attack EVs with an Adamant Nature lets Mudbray reliably OHKO Life Orb Staryu after Stealth Rock damage, Jolly Mudbray only has a 50% chance to OHKO.
Usage Tips
========
People don't usually expect Scarf Mudbray, so use the unpredictability to your advantage. Careful predicitions are always important when using a Choice-locked Pokemon.
Team Options
========
Fairy-types appreciate Mudbray as a partner since it helps them by dealing with cleaning Fire- and Steel- types. Pursuit Pawniard is a very nice teammate because it traps and removes Flying types, making it much easier to spam Earthquake. Stealth Rock setters are appreciated as Stealth Rock breaks Sturdy, allowing Mudbray to sweep more easily.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
A spread of 116 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 156 SpD is usable on the first two sets if you want a more powerful but still bulky Mudbray. Bulldoze helps Mudbray outspeed switch-ins. Superpower can replace Close Combat on the last two sets if you think an Attack drop is not as bad as a Special Defense drop.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-type Pokemon**: Snivy and Pumpkaboo can switch in on as they resist Earthquake, and do not take much damage from any of Mudbray's attacks. They can also restore their HP using Synthesis. Foongus is an OK check, but keep in mind it can switch in on Mudbray only once and if it takes a bit of damage or its Eviolite gets Knocked Off it will easily get 2HKOed.
**Water-type Pokemon**: Defensive Staryu and Slowpoke can switch in on Mudbray, live one Earthquake and restore their health by using Recover and Slack Off, respectively. Dewpider resists 3 of the 4 attacks that Mudbray usually uses and can KO it with a super strong Liquidation.
**Strong Special Attackers**: Abra, Gastly,(AC) and special attacking Carvanha can easily revenge kill Mudbray and sometimes switch in on it.
