Murkrow (Uber Support)

[OVERALL]
This frail bird seems a stupid option as Uber supporter, in a metagame full of Thunder and Ice Beam, but with the right support is surprisingly strong. Its giant supporting movepool allows a lot of sets, but has one main set

[SET]
Name: PranksTaunt
Move 1: Toxic / Thunder Wave
Move 2: Taunt
Move 3: Roost
Move 4: Night Shade
Item: Eviolite
Nature: Calm
Ability: Prankster
EV: 252 HP / 248 SpDef / 8 Spd

[Set Comments]
  • Dragon Dancers or Calm Minders can set up vs a Taunt'ed Ferrothorn / Lugia
  • Bad defensive stats, but Eviolite boosts them
  • Great immunities (Psychic, Ground) and resistances (Grass, Ghost, Dark)
  • Plenty of other options, thanks to its large, helpful supporting movepool
  • During Roost, hasn't the Electric and Ice weakness
  • Cripples easily many offensive and / or defensive threats, thanks to Taunt + Thunder Wave

[Other Options]
  • Tailwind helps a lot slow sweepers, such as Groudon, Dialga, Giratina-O, Ho-Oh
  • Night Shade is for doing some damage, and to kill weaked foes
  • Perish Song avoids Baton Chains, but other than that is pretty useless
  • Torment is useful, but is really situational
  • Psycho Shift can pass burn, but passive damage is bad for a wall (outclassed by Sigilyph, though)
  • Haze stops set-up sweepers that are trying to get boosts while poisoned
  • Feather Dance + Toxic cripples Extremekiller, Bulk Up Palkia and such
  • Sunny Day or Rain Dance can be used to set up your weather again
  • Protect can rack up some Toxic damage

[Checks and Counters]
  • Hates Thunder and Ice Beam
  • Almost every Arceus form (especially Electric) can take Murkrow down
  • Trick: every Choice Item (and Iron Ball) cripples it
  • Whimsicott and Thundurus, with Prankster Taunt, stop him
  • Mixed sweepers, such as Palkia, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, Arceus can dispose of him
  • Manaphy can easily set Tail Glows up and clean the Toxic damage with Hydratation-Rest

[Partners]
  • Chansey, with Wish + Heal Bell, creates a great core that can stall out everything
  • Its worst enemies are Dialga, Specs Kyogre and faster priority users, such as Giratina-O, Rayquaza or Scizor. Everyone can kill them is a great partner
  • Baton Chains such as Amnesia Gorebyss help a lot, even if you will hardly switch
  • Dialga of you own (much more if Tailwind was used) can defeat Rain Teams with Thunder + Dragon Pulse + Earth Power

What the hell. Sableye does that job MUCH better and it got rejected. No point in that lol

If Sableye got rejected, there is no way this is going to get approved. This set wasn't even good enough for OU, let alone Ubers. It gets OHKO'd by a ton of things. You even said yourself that the metagame was full of Thunder + Ice Beam. Not to mention, even with Eviolite Murkrow isn't that bulky at all. 324 HP and 300 Special Defense doesn't exactly scream "WALL" in Ubers. ITs Defense is even worse than that, meaning it will get OHKO'd by any powerful physical attacker.

Um yeah... not really seeing what makes this worth using. All it really does is annoy things and that's about it. You lose to Dialga if you try to do anything to it, you can't switch into any special attackers, and if you're going for prio T-Wave Thundurus does that much better.

Prankster Taunt / Thunder Wave is cute, but as far as Murkrow goes, it can only do so much with its subpar bulk (also notice that it doesn't get Lefties recovery either) and noticeable weaknesses. It can only annoy, but can't really do any significant damage. Now this statement could apply to a lot of other Pokemon, such as Forretress, Xatu, Giratina, and Lugia, but they either have far more useful supporting capabilities or much, much better bulk.

You ignore the one set that Murkrow does best? What happened to Mean Look + Perish Song? Even then, it is so situational that it hardly ever works. Again, you people should stop making sets whose main purpose is to annoy but does nothing in winning you a match. The others have pretty much covered everything I wanted to say.
