I doubt the nuggets will beat the lakers. They swept the nuggests last season without bynum and although bill is good, he won't make a game-changing impact. I'm hoping for magics over cavs but it would be nice for lebron to finally get a ring.
......Have you paid any attention to this season whatsoever?
I say Nuggets over Lakers in 6, and Cavs over Magic in 5.

Lakers in 6.
Magic in 6.

Lakers looked like themselves again in Game 7 vs Houston. Bynum missed one shot, got 5 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots. Their bench is good with Odom,Farmar, and sometimes Walton. Bryant could be playing a bit better however. Gasol is really stepping his game up however. Derek Fisher always seems like the weak link. Ariza played well. HOWEVER, just because I think the Lakers will win doesn't mean I don't think the Nuggets COULD win. I would not be surprised if they did. Utterly destroying New Orleans and basically doing the same thing to Dallas. Lakers struggling a little bit with Houston.

LBJ looked like he had a harder time with DH and the Magic than any other team during the regular season. Struggling to win in Cleveland through a 4th quarter rally. Getting blown out in Orlando. Of course playoffs are different but if Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilguaskas don't step their game up, Dwight Howard will rampage through the Cavs. Not just that but the Cavs haven't faced a team even remotely close to a team that's as good as the Magic and they will get destroyed if they are not prepared especially with the Magic coming off of a tough series with the Celtics.

Cleveland only won at home vs orlando because of a controversal 3 second violation on Dwight >_>
Lakers in 7:
The lakers frontcourt is way too good for Denver, also lakers might want to start shannon brown here.

Magic in 7:
Rashard Lewis, Hedo, Pietrus. 3 defenders to bug james and dwight in the paint to block shots. Plus I can see Reshard or Hedo gives the Cavs a lot of trouble. Depending on who Lebron guards, and Dwight should dominate Big Z.

Lakers vs Magic

Lakers in 6
All games have been close, but the Lakers are smarter, Pau gasol can give them problems, Ariza/Odom and Kobe can deal with the small and power forwards of the Magic.

lakers backcourt is way too good for denver? billups IS on that backcourt...

and you think lakers are closing out nuggets in their own arena? which has been like the best arena thusfar in this whole entire playoff? o_O

Hmm... As much as I'd love the Nuggets to beat the Lakers, and as much as they try, they won't pull it off. Their main threat isn't Kobe, but the refs. The amount of corruption in the NBA is unimaginable and there is no way David Stern will allow anything but a Lakers vs. Cavaliers NBA finals. Some of the calls they make in favor of Kobe/Lebron these days are just baffling.

Lakers in 7
Cavs Sweep Magic

Yeah so can someone tell me why Farmar isn't playing instead of Fisher? He has been doing good things when he has been in the game.

I think Fisher is underrated. Like someone said earlier in the thread (I think...), when the Lakers got Fisher they actually started playing a lot better (Bynum's emergence also helped). He is a much better defender than any other PG in the team, and he is a good 3pt shooter. Farmar is good, but he has been extremely inconsistent ever since he got injured earlier in the year... if he was playing like he was at the beginning of the season he could be even starting right now and wouldn't have to worry about Shannon Brown taking his playing time...

Lakers have had the Nugget's number pretty much every time they've faced off against each other. With the momentum of the complete man-handling of the Rockets in Game 7 and Bynum looking like a stud (admittedly not against Yao, but it still boosts his confidence, which means a lot to a young player), I see Lakers in 6; Anthony has just sucked against the lakers in the past, and I don't see that changing too much.

I haven't followed the Magic at all this season, but I doubt they will give LeBron too much trouble. Cavs in 5. But yeah, considering I know jack squat about the Magic, I wouldnt be surprised if I'm dead wrong here.

Lakers against Cavs: doesn't hurt that this is the game that everyone wants to see. Lakers are just too deep for the Cavs though. Lakers in 6, even though I want to say Lakers in 5. Lakers' roll players are just way better than LeBron's supporting cast.

I must say that I like how these Conf. Finals predictions are shaping up to be. I think it's always good when the predictions are close in people who think each team will win because then it just seems that much more intense and more of a reason why you should watch it, because one team isn't HEAVILY favored over another.

Anyways I just thought I'd give my Finals predictions for any of the 4 scenarios that may happen.

Lakers vs Magic- 6.
Lakers vs Cavaliers- 6 as well.
Nuggets vs Cavaliers- 5? 6 more like probly.
Nuggets vs Magic- 5.

I don't see the west winning a title unless it's the Lakers. Not that the Nuggets aren't excellent as said before but, it will be tough for them, coming off of what will definitely be a rough series with the Lakers, then going against one of two of the top 3 teams in the NBA. Who knows though. Surprises are always nice =P. I really don't want to see a Lakers-Cavs finals at this point though just because everyone is hyping up Kobe-LeBron a bit too much imo. I'm personally more excited to be seeing Dwight-LeBron right now, and possibly Dwight-Kobe.

Yeah let's blame it on the refs!

Theyve affected a series many times before.

Kobe-Lebron even has commercials, and I think it would be awesome for the league marketing wise. Just in case the NBA begins to hurt financially, great matchups need to get into the finals, I suppose no matter what the cost.

I wouldn't mind seeing any matchup with the Cavs. Its either gonna be:

Kobe vs. Lebron

A matchup of, arguably, the two best players in the entire league. Whose dominance reigns supreme?

Melo vs. Lebron

#1 and #2 draft choices against each other in the Finals. Who gets their ring first?

Any way the playoffs shakedown there will be drama. Not just those possible matchups above.

Damn, looks like it was a close game throughout. I had to babysit at my sister's, who doesn't have cable, so I missed it.

actually, it wasn't too close throughout the game. both quarters were about the same: denver domintes for 22-23 minutes and LA scratches out a lead in the last few minutes.

It actually was pretty close lol. The lead Denver had after the first I'll admit was big. But even throughout each quarter when they did lead it was still close and not that big of a lead so it could have gone either way and it just happened to go the Lakers way tonight.

Bynum needs to play more minutes. He played pretty well for what how many minutes he was in but still could be a bit more productive.

Just putting it out there that I have gotten every matchup right for every round of the playoffs thus far.

Continuing my run of genius

Lakers in 6
Magic in 7

Kobe did what he does that annoys me so well... He probes the D the entire game and then turns it on towards the end...

It was a great game over all, clutch shots and all. Cleveland eeks out one tonight vs Lando.

I was really disappointed. I wanted the Cavs to win. When the Magic made that last three pointer, my heart sank. That was a nail biting game to watch too, especially that last shot by Cleveland with 1 sec to go.

Props to the Magic for winning, they deserved it - even if I don't like it.

If you are Cleveland why are you trying to take a 3 with your last possession when you are only down by one. Lebron should have just drove to the basket to at least try to draw the foul like he did the play before.

If that last second shot went in that would have been amazing. Ohh well.

Good job, Magic.

Still sticking with Nuggets-Magic finals.
