New and "creative" moveset/EV spread thread "Mark 2"

I've been using Trick Clefable with a lot of success as well, and will do a Peer Edit on it soon, but maybe you should try Flame Orb since in UU many Fighting types will be the most common switch ins, and a Flame Orb stops them pretty well

Burn still cuts Clefable's attack, making it a losing proposition.

If you didn't notice, the set was packing 252 Attack EVs, Facade, and possibly Meteor Mash.

Please don't correct me when you don't know what you're talking about.

To incorporate Flame Orb, maybe it should be:

Clefable (F) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed (I'm no good with EVs)
Modest Nature
- Protect
- Trick
- Hidden Power (Dragon)
- Flamethrower

The only reason I chose those two attacking moves s because they have perfect coverage in UU! In OU, you have to watch out for Heatran.

I've been using Trick Clefable in OU, not UU, and have been met with great success. Need some help on the EVs though.

CHOICE BAND DRIFBLIM

Drifblim @ Choice Band
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Adamant Nature
- Trick
- Sucker Punch
- Return
- Explosion

Drifblim does have 80 base Attack, compared to 90 base Sp. Attack, so this could be quite viable in UU! I struggled to find physical moves however.

Drifblim @ Flame Orb
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Attack, 6 Speed
Modest Nature
- Trick
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Shadow Ball

Trick on the first turn! Even if you don't, the Attack drop won't hinder you! Knock Off will be good for getting rid of other items if the opponent switches. HP Fighting and Shadow Ball give very good coverage!

If you're going with two special attacks on Clefable, always go with Shadow Ball/Focus Blast in UU. Just look at the usage statistics and see how many Pokemon are weak to Ghost/Fighting.

Your EVs and nature need work though. Clefable is primarily a defensive Pokemon, so the EVs should reflect that. The most popular EVs are 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 SpD with a Bold nature to make Clefable a sturdy mixed wall. Protect should be replaced with Softboiled.

Trick-Flame Orb is just another reason why RestTalk Hitmontop is the greatest Clefable counter ever.

@Wulfspade

Actually, Swords Dance Shiftry has a Peer Edit in the Platinum Updates forum:

This Clefable is being used in OU with great effect. Trick is amazing!

Anyone suggested SpecsHariyama?

Hariyama @ Choice Specs
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Attack, 6 Speed
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Surf/Brine
- Hidden Power (Ghost?)
- Filler: HYPER BEAM!

I chose Hyper Beam because Hariyama basically has no other special moves to work with other than crappy ones like Mud Slap!

Lol. That things attack stat doesn't even reach 300.

Hariyama's base 40 Sp. Attack poses an incredible threat to all Pokemon! It is definitely something to look out for. Lol =)

I like my Drifblim sets though!

When did this thread turn into a "slap random Choice item on a Pokémon"?

But there are some viable stuff- I like the surprise that CB Drifblim is, and it's Atk is not that bad either. Does Trick activate Unburden?

Stall Suicune@leftover
252hp/100def/158sp.def@calm/sassy
-dive
-protect
-toxic
-brine/rest
This set is to stall toxic damage with dive's 1 trun of invulerablility, and then soon protects to stall more damage. Brine to bring down weaken walls with brine's effect, which makes it a 130BP move without STAB. Haven't tested it. You can choose to put some speed into it to dive faster, or try minium speed to dive slow. I am not too good with evs, you can alter it if you want to.

Nobody's suggested SpecsHariyama before, with good reason. With choice specs and max sp. atk, Hariyama achieves a MAXIMUM of 294 special attack. You'd be better off slapping the specs on Gyarados.

Sorry guys, I had no idea where to post this, but yeah, I'm going to post it here, and move it when it needs to be.

Here we go:

Tyranitar @ Lum Berry
Nature: Hasty
EV Spread: 208 Attack/48 SpAtk/252 Speed
Moveset:
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Dragon Dance

Okay guys, basically this Tyranitar is meant to be a team lead. This EV Spread allows this big dude to OHKO Gliscor with Ice Beam. This was the main objective I looked to impliment when I made this. Dragon Dance is to obviously boost it's somewhat okay speed and decent attack stats. Crunch hits Starmie, Cress, Celebi, all the good stuff. EQ is there to hit annoying ass Steel types, etc. Nothing much else to explain in depth.

dpmfa094.png

Gengar @ Black Sludge
Nature: Hasty
EV Spread: 156 Attack/100 SpAtk/252 Speed
Moveset:
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Punch
-Substitute
-Hypnosis

As you can obviously see, I enjoy using mixed attacking Pokemon, Gengar is no exception. The common Pokemon I see lately are Celebi and Heatran. You can now ask, what did I make to counter these? This. Shadow Ball is a gauranteed 2HKO on Celebi, while Focus Punch is a 2HKO on Heatran, quite decent if I do say so myself. Most people only think about Focus Blast, I see it differently. Having Pokemon with mixed attacking abilities is great since you can easily throw your opponent offguard.

Thank you guys for reading this, and I hope you enjoyed. I am NagashiWrath on Smogon Shoddy Server, feel free to contact me if you want to test these Pokemon for yourself. Thanks again.

Gengar @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Attack/252 Speed/6 HP
Moveset:
-Shadow Claw
-Poison Jab/Brick Break/Focus Punch
-ThunderPunch
-Ice Punch

CBGar. Believe it or not, it achieves 376 Attack with CB, Adamant, and 252 Attack EVs. Nobody expects a physical Gengar, so of course they'll bring out Blissey. Then you OHKO it, provided you're running Focus Punch. Poison Jab and Shadow Claw are for STAB, and ThunderPunch and Ice Punch as a pseudo-BoltBeam. Hits everything for neutral except Magnezone, unless you opt for Brick Break or Focus Punch over Poison Jab.

Manectric @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Attack/252 Speed/6 HP
Moveset:
-Thunder Fang
-Ice Fang
-Fire Fang
-Crunch

309 Speed and 409 Attack. Hits everything for neutral or better. 'Nuff said.

Nothing on that set has a chance at OHKOing bliss. in fact, against a 252/252 bold blissey you have no chance of even 2HKOing. Against a 0/252 calm blissey you only have about a 50% chance of a 2HKO with brick break, factoring in leftovers.

You're absolutely right. However, provided marilland's damage calculator is accurate, Focus Punch WILL OHKO a 252/252 Bold Blissey without fail. Allow me to amend me post.

you're right, but only after stealth rock damage. I wouldn't use marriland's damage calculator though, its not accurate since it doesn't take hit points into account.

dpmfb475.png
@ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
252 Hp 220 Def 36 SpDef
- Brick Break
- Shadow Sneak
- Thunder Wave/Wish
- Will-O-Wisp/Wish

Kind of like a lesser Giratina... a MUCH lesser Giratina. Most physical pokemon will try to get in on Gallade, which is why you Thunder Wave or Will-o-Wisp on the switch in, crippeling a pokemon in the process. Besides Scarf-Cross of course. Wish could be used if you want healing but I don't see it very viable without protect, and the set is mainly used to cripple sweepers.

I opt for Brick Break so Gallade can also be a screen destroyer which aren't that fun to have opposing you.

explosion would be a nice option too

Sorry if someone has already said these:

MIXED SLAKING @ Life Orb?
Ability: Truant =(
EVs: 252 Attack, 26 Sp. Attack, 232 Speed
Hasty Nature
- Return
- Earthquake
- Focus Punch
- Fire Blast

Fire Blast works off Slaking's respectable base 95 Sp. Attack and can take out physical walls with ease.

SPECIAL SLAKING @ Choice Specs?
Ability: Still Truant =(
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast/HP Fighting
- Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Return
- Thundebolt/Return
- Shadow Ball

It may be a good idea to use Return over something, to not waste Slaking's excellent Attack. In this case, change Modest to say Hasty or Mild.

Truant is probably the only thing stopping these sets from being used.

New creative moveset for Salamence!

Salamence:

Set Name: SubDDMence
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Lonely/Naughty/Adamant
Held Item: Leftovers/Life Orb
EVs: 136 Speed (to reach 270) / 252 Atk / 112 Sp.Atk

Moveset:
Subsitute
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw/Outrage
Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Earthquake

Comments:
This is my creative moveset for Salamence. Subsitute first so that WoWers cannot burn you. This is useful to scout/free turn. Then temperory without the ice fear, DD in your sub. Then you would have two slots for attacking.
Dragon STAB is invaluable, and Dragon Claw is always good on Salamence. However, if you do not mind being locked into Outrage, then go for it.
Next is the choice between a fire move and a Ground move. Earthquake provides coverage that is only resisted by Skaromy and Bronzong (Levitate), and flamethrower is only blocked by Heatran.
If you go for EQ, use adamant and put Sp.atk EVs into speed and HP.

Physical Sweeper Persian

Persian @ Life Orb/Silk Scarf
Adamant/Jolly, 4 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
Technician
~Fake Out
~Bite
~Aerial Ace
~Return/Body Slam

Body slam is mainly for Adamant natured Persians, you could para something faster on the switch, but still, Return is better option IMHO
