Not sure if you'll like those two or not, as Folk Metal is my favorite genre, so I live for their heavy doses of just pure acoustic Folk Melodies, so they may not quite be as aggressive as you want in some parts.
If that's the case, try out Windir. Even if it's not, try them out anyway. Very much a more black metal feel, yet still noticeably folky, and awesome.

i don't mind it not being aggressive lol. i listen to a lot of non-metal so that's not an issue.
windir was slightly too blacky for me, arkona was a tad too folky for me (idk i found it sorta boring), but eluveitie was pretty much what i was after.

I usually listen to the less extreme forms of metal myself, but I do enjoy some extreme folk like Eluveitie or Ensiferum occasionally and some thrash like Pantera and Megadeth and whatever genre Nevermore is.

to be fair, Eluveitie are not black metal at all and are more melodeath with some dudes playing folk instruments than anything.
but Slania is still one of the better folk metal albums. which is odd, since i've never been a big fan of folk metal and most melodeath bores me these days.

Of all the modern pop artists right now, I actually respect Gaga the most. She very seriously studied music, worked hard at it for many years, and was a songwriter that admired the glam rock bands of the 80s long before she became the modern personality she is now. I give her my props.
Anyways back to metal.
Turisas released a new album recently, and I finally decided to pick it up. Like it on the first few listens through, and this has always been a band that grows on me with time so I'm pretty happy.

Is there any really technical metal that doesn't involve screaming? I'm really into Protest the Hero's latest album and I was wondering if anyone knew some similar music?

you can try something with no vocals, like behold... the arctopus. Cynic's vocals, whilst not devoid from screaming, are still quite different and possess quite a lot of non-screaming so that may appeal, check out the track evolutionary sleeper.

I can't wait to hear the damn album, I've heard so much damn praise from everybody saying that is just as freaking godly as their first two albums. On a side-note, today marks the one year anniversary that Ronnie James Dio passed away. :/
