new metalheads thread

Shipwrecked - Alestorm.

Nothing like good wholseome Piratey Folk Metal. As always delivered with a catchy as hell chorus (Also the most palpable Korpiklaani influence I've felt from this band to date, but I'm okay with it).

Listened to Deconstruction by Devin Townsend 4 times now and it kicks some ass. Every song is not only memorable but also absolutely stunning in terms of production. Devin proves once again that he's one of the best on the scene for quality of sound.

Illud Divinum Insanus is "out". Any other headbangers here besides me hear the full thing yet? It is so terribly bad, it is the absolute worst death metal album I've ever heard in my life.

Van Canto is old news btw. they've done 3 albums, covering metal bands using a cappella.

As a metal head somewhere on the internet once said, I wait for the Martin Van Drunen A Capella group. With that name mentioned, how do y'all feel about Hail of Bullets?

wearing my Hail of Bullets shirt right now actually. got to see them live at Maryland Deathfest and get a picture with Van Drunen after their set, he was a really cool guy but obviously a bit buzzed out when i was talking to him lol.

i'll just say there's no pit crazier than a Hail of Bullets one. they were great live and Van Drunen is metal as fuck, but it was kinda hard to enjoy it while the whole time i was there i kept having to look behind me to make sure someone wasn't about to ride the crowd or slam into me (i was just in front of the mosh pit near the front).

because not everyone likes to get in the pit? it's okay sometimes, but for the most part i'd rather stick closer up to the stage.

I'm with nevermore on that. What's the point of going to the show of a band you like if you're not even going to actively listen to them play, and just mosh the entire time? I don't know about you, but when I'm in a pit my senses are not at all focused on listening to the band.
