NON Weather VGC 2012 Team!

My first post here on smogon!
Have decided to start building a VGC team for the up coming competition, all rates are appreciated no matter how negative ^_^

Gastrodon@Rindo berry
Ability - Storm drain
Evs: 252 spatt/252 hp
Nature: Modest
- Ice beam
- Earth power
- Scald*
- Protect

Was the first addition to the team and is ye olde reliable rain counter #1 also brings some nice special attacking elements to the team. Also works well with latios being able to take his surfs and help him take care of other dragons with ice beam. Scald for the lovely burn chance and reliable stab. Earth power for coverage and another stab move. Protect is protect you all know it's usefulness.

Ferrothorn@Rocky helmet
Ability - Iron barbs
Evs: 252 att/ 176 spdef / 76hp
Nature: Brave
- Gyro ball
- Leech seed*
- Protect
- Power whip

Works as a secondary rain counter while being able to counter a majority of sand teams major threats. Tossing up between thuderwave and leech seed, leech seed help sap some health from foes and put them in KO range while thunder wave benefits the rest of the team more but still helps Jim out with the speed advantage. Gyro ball for Ttars and dragons while power whip for water types and a secondary stab attack.

Hitmontop@White herb
Ability - Intimidate
Evs: 252 att/ 252 hp
- Close combat
- Fake out*
- Sucker punch
- Wide guard

Usually in the starting lead for his lovely fake out and intimidate, white herb to heal back his defense drop so he doesn't die TO quickly.. Although this does get interrupted by other intimidates which can be quite annoying.. Sucker punch for ghosts/alakazam and lati@s's.
Fake out is fake out, wide guard > protect to help my team but this is being considered to change. Pretty standard really.

Latios@*Dragon gem
Ability - Levitate
Evs: 252 spe/ 252 sp att
Nature: Timid
- Surf
- Draco meteor
- Protect
- Hidden power (fire)

Another pretty standard pokemon, not pour of using common pokemon but he really does his job well, can't complain.
Surf to assist Gastrodon and gain some nice coverage over ground types and a multi hitting move for those dire situations. Dragon gem Draco meteor to aim at whatever I want to die, protect for some.. Protection. Hidden power fire for steels and grass types in sun. Considering tailwind but I really think he needs the extra fire coverage.

Terrakion@Focus sash
Ability - Justified
Evs: 252 speed/ 252 att
Nature: Adamant
- Rock slide
- Close combat
- Quick attack
- Protect

Terrakion is Terrakion, not much I can say, gets all the kills he needs and loves to be teamed up with tornadus. Is the reason why I am considering tailwind on latios, as to give him more options to want to come out. Close combat and rock slide as his two main stab moves. Quick attack for some priority in the team but may be swapped to quick guard as to stop fake out/Mach punch/bullet punch but the latter two can be stopped by protect it's just quick guard will ease prediction with whomever I am teamed up with. Don't really feel like dropping protect though as it aids in tailwind set up. Focus sash to compensate for the speed drop.

Tornadus@Flight gem
Ability - Prankster
Evs: 252 spe/ 252 att
Nature - Timid
- Tailwind
- Acrobatics
- Protect*
- Taunt

Standard tornadus, sets up tailwind almost everytime (par another prankster user) and deal a heck of an amount of damage to anything he wishes to unleash his flight gem acrobatics on. Taunt for trick room and pokemons like Amoonguss who bug me.. Protect for protection, you know the drill.

Hope it wasn't to much of a annoyance reading all this rambling :3
For those of you who read it all and who are rating Thank you <3

I was trying to check if a Sand+trick room would be a thread to your team.(BTW you have a nice team).
Tyranitar rock slide your tornadus and crunch your latios, having 2 fighting pokemons can be great for countering it. But if your opponent has a HP fire reuniclus that will make some damage on your ferrothorn , hitmontop and terrakion since none of them has a powerfull dark move. Even with taunt move trick room could be a thread to your team.
Replacing terrakion with a dark-move pokemon would be great , I think on heracross or gliscor poison heal but it would not have any coverage on your team. If I find any option I will surely post:)

EDIT: A gallade can be a option , even being a fight type it can have night slash and it would enjoy tailwind.

Thank you Enraikou :)
I usually deal with anything trick room with latios/hitmontop leads so latios can generally take out the reuniculus with draco meteor dragon gem. I will do some damage calculations on crunch but it seems like it will still KO latios after intimidate. You are right though, I am missing a strong attack to deal with psychics like Cresselia. Gallade was something I was thinking of actually, he could even run trick room to counter other peoples trick rooms if need be. I will look into it after some testing. Thank again ^_^
Keep the reviews coming guys!

I'll just point out some things I've noticed really quickly.

-Ferrothorn should be running Leech Seed instead of Thunder Wave. If you use Thunder Wave on their Pokemon you potentially half the damage you can be doing with Gyro Ball.
-Latios greatly benefits from running Psychic and Hidden Power Ground. Psychic not only gives Latios a second STAB, but Latios hits harder using Psychic than it does with other coverage moves such as Surf. Hidden Power Ground rounds out the set and gives Latios perfect type coverage if you're worried about that as much as I am.

That's all I see for now. I hope I helped.

Completely over looked the thunder wave gyro ball thing, thanks for pointing that out! :D
I am still unsure on the moveset I will be running with latios, still thinking of running surf to run him with Gastrodon more effectively, but this is yet to be tested so it may not be as effective as I thinknit will be :3 Thanks for your suggestions!

Edited*
Leech seed > Thuder wave on Ferrothorn thanks to Lucien suggestions.
Scald > Surf on Gastrodon as I just realized pretty much none of my team likes taking surfs from him.
