np: UU - Can't Touch This

fuck you jecht1 FUCK YOU

nasty plot porygonz seriously tears apart slower teams all you have to do is nasty plot then tri attack then boom stuff dies -.- i've been using lum to help set up on cresselias (which have a nasty habit of not dying especially the rest cm versions) with RECOVER in the last slot. recover actually works decently since porygonz isn't totally worthless defensively and it definitely helps against weaker attackers.

Ugh I've been using stall and Porygon Z with NP + Recover has been a complete bitch...if it comes in on something that can't damage it its pretty much game.

@Jak3: I hope you run Pursuit on your Absol because ghosts will walk all over you otherwise :P

What two moves does that particular porygon run? Outside os NP and recover, of course.

I know you were asking someone else, but as far as stall wrecking Porygon Z goes, I prefer this:

Porygon@Leftovers/Life Orb
252HP/160SpD/96SpA - Modest, Adaptability with NP, Download with Agil
~Nasty Plot/Agility
~Recover
~Tri-Attack
~Thunderbolt/Hidden Power Fighting

EVs make sure standard Milotic/Blastoise never 3HKO with their respective 0SpA Surfs, and the bulk is really amazing otherwise. It's fast enough to outpace all of stall with no speed EVs, so if you're just going for stall breaker stick with Nasty Plot. If you need it as a cleanup sweeper, use Agility and Download.

It goes without saying that if you go with HP Fighting > Thunderbolt, ghosts will wall you to oblivion. CBTomb takes care of ghosts easily with its powerful pursuit, and can also Trick the Band onto an unsuspecting Cresselia/other thing that doesn't want a Choice Band after its ghost cleaning duties are finished, making HP Fighting a better option if you have a Pursuiter so you can hit both Rocks and Steels for Super Effective.

Alternatively if you're really gutsy, you can drop either Recover or your secondary attacking option for whichever +2 you didn't have before. If you get an Agility and a Nasty Plot (which isn't really all that hard by any stretch of the imagination with the EVs and PZ's ability to force switches) then you can pretty much call it gg.

You can also choose to use a Life Orb for some extra oomph on your hits, as you can just recover off the damage, but it significantly lowers PZ's bulkiness.

@Flamewheeler: All have had Tri Attack of course, and the last slot is usually either HP Ground or Dark Pulse.

HP Ground leaves it walled by every Levitating Ghost. So does HP Fighting.

I run Specs and it murders things quite well. Tri Attack/Dark Pulse/HP Fighting/(as a gimmick) Hyper Beam (if I were actually playing) Trick.

@ flamewheeler I use tri attack / dark pulse with dugtrio support. the dugtrio actually was put in my team for other reasons but as I was looking at my team I realized "hey it kills the steels that wall this combo" which was a cool moment. 252 speed 252 satk timid nature no nonsense don't outspeed me you slow ass base 80 pokes!

Am I the only one that deeply hates the new metagame?

I don't really mind both... but it must be because i'm just trolling out there on Shoddy with Luvdisc+Unown teams hihihi.

I really don't like it either.

My two cents on Cress: You can't switch in anything because it's impossible to find something that can reliably deal with any set.

Umbreon is basically the only true counter to any set Cresselia has.

Ok, about Armaldo: you need to use it on Sandstorm to counter Porygon Z(that means... Hippopotas. Argh).

Are people going to use Scarf on anything with more speed than Porygon Z just to be able to check it? Primeape for example(even though Primeape is basically always Scarfed... sort of the Flygon of UU)?
Or they will begin to use the good old CM Mismagius(Hmm, i prefer Drifblim for that)?
Does Cresselia means ground types are going to be less and less used(with exception of Nidoking and Dugtrio of course)?
What should be the answer to Dual Screen Cresselia? Drapion with Brick Break or something?

Ohh, questions... well, i'm going to keep trollin out there until i'm in a good mood to make new teams(i don't have any for a couple of days... am i getting tired of Pokemon?)

Not at all! Is there any way to cut this testing period to like a week from now instead of two...seriously? Shittiest metagame I have ever played. I thought the last one was bad...give it back and I'll be much happier than I am now. Can we like start a petition to ban the new bitches? lol Porygon isn't as good as I wanted him to be, but cress...my god CRESS just needs to go.

I think that Cress does better against more offensive teams whereas PZ fairs well aginst slower, more defensive teams. As for cutting the testing period short? Its only been two days, give it a chance. ._.

Eh, I guess lol, I just pray it gets better.

Edit: Most of that was sarcasm, but my feelings remain the same.

Ugggggggggggh, what's with all the blasted Absols? I mean, yes Honchkrow is gone and yes Cresselia is here, but seriously? This much? I see more Absols than I do Venusaur, Raikou, Cresselia... Heck, possibly even more than FROSLASS. He makes my team cry. :(

Granted, I use a team with 3 Dark weaks, 1 Fighting weak that's slower than Absol, and two not-exactly-bulky Pokemon, but still, FUCK YOU ABSOL.

Answer: Mixed Blaziken with Vacuum Wave. Works wonders.

Why was nearly everyone so quick to label cress as broken in UU? It's only 2-3 days since it was introduced. Time needs to be allowed for people to accommodate for this new threat in their teams. It can't just be assumed that if your present (from before cress was added) team, which in no way was prepared for cress, can't handle cress then it is broken.

To be fair, it has been a rather incredible threat in the short time in which it was introduced. Though I'm personally having way more fun with Porygon-Z ^_^ Two weeks seem like a fair amount of time for the express voting considering we still need some integrity in our voters.

I'm too new to shoddy to properly judge whether Cresselia is broken or not, but I'm having more trouble taking it down with my pretty offensive team than anything else. The only thing that hits it hard enough to outdamage moonlight on my team is Absol, but no Cresselia I've seen stays in to let it get a SD up and really threaten it. It can't even sucker punch since I'm yet to see a Cresselia with an attacking move other than psychic.

I didn't find the metagame to be that bad at first, but after just two days of moderate play it has already become dogshit for me. Cresselia is having such a restrictive effect, not necessarily on the kinds of Pokemon but on the style of play mainly. Even Gallade didn't come close to this level of influence on the metagame. I'll probably leave it a week or so for the metagame to settle a little bit before coming back to give the ladder and Cresselia a second chance. Sorry but I play mainly for fun, and I'm just not getting that at the moment.

I actually really like this metagame, especially compared to the one previous to this. Cresselia has slowed the metagame down quite a bit, which is actually a good thing. When the BL/OUs were dropped in, all that happened was a huge clusterfuck of broken (or near-broken, in the case of Froslass and Raikou) Pokemon fighting other broken Pokemon, in addition of monsters like Rhyperior being thrown in the mix as well. Cresselia, whether we admit it or not, helps us by slowing down the metagame keeping these Pokemon from just destroying the tier with the click of a button, since you have 5 other slots to deal with those Pokemon, as Cresselia checks and walls so many. Not that Cresselia isn't broken, I just think it's a good thing for the metagame.

Anyway, after taking a break with my main team, I decided to make a new team with Porygonz and Cresselia (which is also doing pretty well).

I really think that Calm Mind + 2 Attacks + Moonlight is the best set for Cressalia, and those two attacks have to be either Psychic + Hidden Power Fighting or Psychic + Signal Beam (I prefer the latter). The other sets are just lolled at by Pokemon like Moltres, Absol, and others. I'm really on the fence about Cresselia's brokeness.

My trouble with making the team was the choice of P-z's ability. Which one is better?

For a Choice Scarf set, I was leaning towards Download, but accidentally using Adaptability and getting great results has made me reconsider. Download, theoretically, should probably be more useful since it effects all of Porygonz attacks, however if you are relying on Porygonz to sweep late game, maybe the realiability from Adaptability is better? What do you guys think?

Both have their merits; I can see why you're having trouble. I personally love Adaptability just for the immensely powerful Tri Attack, but Download could be said as superior on the Scarf sets.

Speaking of Porygon - Z; what's your thoughts on that so far?
