Personally, I used Umbreon to pass Mean Look, then gave him a set of Drain Punch, Iron Head, Psych Up, and Swagger, full EVs in speed an attack. After all, there's no point in trying to stall out those turns if you're not going to pull a sweep afterward.
I'm hoping there's another Pokemon capable of passing Mean Look that isn't weak to Fighting, since Hitmontop loves to come right in and fuck up my strategy.
Why would you use Drain Punch over Brick Break? Sure, it recovers HP, but in the first five turns, you'll be stalling, and the 8 PP isn't really enough for a staller. Not to mention that Brick Break has more BP.
I think everybody is thinking about Regigigas in the wrong way. Think of him as a Pokemon with 110/110/110 defenses. Don't even think about his ability, and don't try to stall out the 5 turns. If you do, it's a nice added bonus, and you basically get to use an Uber in UU, but don't try to have Regigigas 'get its act together', as you'll almost always fail. However, 110/110/110 defenses are quite decent for a defensive Pokemon (think a slightly less than Cresselia, which is good, considering Cresselia was broken).
This is definetely one of the best reasons why I like UU subforum.
1. We have a general UU topic that is commonly posted in.
2. We have a diverse cast of users here. (OU is fine too, but I just like the UU players more...)
3. We can have an actual discussion about an underrated pokemon and not get laughed off.
UU 4 lyfe.
Anywho, I've got a question. I'm trying to make a new team incorparating Mixachu (mixed Raichu) should I even bother? Or do I risk getting outclassed by Electbuzz who admitadly has better stats at the cost of using Surf.
It depends on the moveset you're intending to use for your Raichu really. As you pointed our yourself, Electabuzz actually beats Raichu in 5 of the 6 stats (despite Electabuzz being an NFE), and they have the same ability.
They both have their own share of unique moves, so just make an informed decision (or tell us your Raichu moveset, so we can help you decide if it's outclassed). It would be quite embarrassing if someone used a Raichu that was 100% outclassed by Electabuzz though (this has happened on rare occasions, I think some people, to save time, only consider fully evolved Pokemon, Chansey and Magneton for their teams).
Drain Punch gives it some staying power, as I'm running no defensive EVs whatsoever (though I'm considering running some HP). With max speed, it has enough to outpace the likes of Umbreon and stall with Iron Head and Swagger until it can really do some damage. Why would you use Drain Punch over Brick Break? The problem is that its defensive typing sucks, it can't recover, and it doesn't do anything particularly useful before it dies. If you want to stand a decent chance of doing anything with it at all, you're going to have to play around with Slow Start so that it can use that massive attack power.I think everybody is thinking about Regigigas in the wrong way. Have you considered Pikachu? You gotta love that RAW POWER.
you mean revenge kill rightRaichu to "check" Moltres
I've used it before, and even in an attempt to set up a team around it, it has no way of getting past its complete lack of defenses and the ridiculous amount of priority in the tier. Plus, it can't run Life Orb, so you're really just using a cute and inferior version of Raikou or even Raichu.
