Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I've been using Heal Bell DD Altaria this round with less than mediocre results. I'm testing Mix altaria now and I haven't lost a battle since (well, I only did like 5 battles). It's pretty cool when you have a core of Sub Punch Hariyama, Tangrowth, Rhyperior (for scyther) and CB spiritomb (for Psychics) backing it up. I'm actually liking this core. Pursuit does tons to things that even resist it when switching out (62% to Hitmonlee, wtf?).

That's good! I'm glad to see that something I posted actually helped someone for once lol
It prob did 62% because Hitmonlee's defense is a pitiful 53 and its HP is 50. I just ran a calc and assuming you use the standard 252 Attack Adamant Tomb it does between 58 and 68% damage. Think about it though, You have a Choice Band so Pursuit is now 60 damage. It is fleeing so it now does 120. You have STAB so it is 180. 180/2 (because it resists) is 90. So you are using a 90 power move from 311 attack on a Pokémon with 53 base Defense and 50 base HP. Makes sense, I think.
Huh, I wouldnt' have though Altaria has the OOOMF with its shitty offensive stats to use a mixed set. Seems interesting... does it have enough power to break through walls?>
Well, Hitmonlee's physical defenses suck, and with a CB, Spiritomb's Sucker Punch/Pursuit is effectively 90 BP on it, so...
By less than mediocre, do you mean terrible? Or do you mean good? (the way you have it makes it seem like you meant the latter but you stated the former).
By less than mediocre, I meant terrible. It never really swept, and had a difficult time switching in to do any damage at all. It failed to KO an opposing Mix Altaria with a +1 Dragon Claw (only did 69%...).
I also used Pursuit on a choiced Blaziken stuck on Low Kick. It did around 42%. Blaziken is not that frail either.
Its power isn't enough to break through walls like Registeel and Uxie, but it is a terrifying threat to Offensive teams, as it can restore its health with roost and spam Draco Meteor like it has no care in the world...I'm surprised I never tried it out myself. :/

Well, even though it maxes out at 262 Special Attack, coupled with life orb that is 340 Special Attack with a 140 power STAB move that not many Pokémon in UU resist... Slap on Outrage or EQ to dent Special Walls and some Attack EVs and you are doing work, son
It's not as broken for 3v3 singles and 4v4 doubles, which is what they care about. Why is simple: there's less switching opportunity to deal with the negatives of the Dragon moves. Stuck in Outrage and get KO'd? You just lost a third of your team, instead of one sweeper that just crippled their team. -2 from DM and forced to switch? Your switch-in gets beaten, and you lose a third of your team, instead of sacrificing your lead Azelf. Reliability is more important than that kind of sheer power.
I've had great success with DD Heal Bell Altaria. It's harder to use if you're an offensive player, but it does niftily set up on Milotic, Venusaur, and assorted special threats, while having some useful resistances to play around with. The key is to play it without trying to sweep with it. Just alternate between DD, Heal Bell, and Roost, as is appropriate, then attack when you have high health.
Meh. Honestly, I can go either way. But to tell you the truth, I've found Offense to be more consistent this round (and the past few) than anything. I've used Heal Bell DD Altaria before. It's just that Offensive Milotic have been infesting this metagame and it's starting to get me thinking it's broken...
I've never had trouble with Milotic as an Offensive player, but Offensive Milotic is starting to give my teams more trouble. I mean, what counters it? Attacker Venusaur is OHKOed by LO Ice Beam and is outsped. If it's bulkier than usual, it fails to KO and is outsped. Consequentially, it is 2KOed by Ice Beam...
Honestly, all it can do is put it to sleep, and that only works 75% of the time. This is assuming you didn't switch into a predicted Ice Beam which isn't that hard to spam with Grass types running everywhere.
I would really appreciate if you could back up your baseless opinion with some solid points on why Milotic should leave a tier infested with Grass types, Toxicroak, and Altaria as well as Milotic lures like SunnyBeam Moltres and Passho Houndoom. I would also appreciate if you didn't cloud up this thread with one sentence posts that have nothing of importance. Go.

milotic can just take too much punishment. with recover and marvel scale, it seems that lately the only way to kill the leviathan is to score a super effective or critical hit. not only are her defensive capabilities super juiced, but her special attacking stats are good as well, and i feel like needing a lure on you're team is the very definition of over centralizing the metagame. sure it gets scared out, by hard hitting grass types, but i brought in a slowbro to counter it and not only did it toxic stall me, it also had haze, disallowing the use of calm mind to kill it, you say that altaria and grass types counter it, how do they counter it when a good portion of milotic carry ice beam? theres enough grass types in UU to spam ice beam until its drained of pp and there would be a good chance to score a solid hit on some grass types. how does toxicroak counter it? milotic cant really do much to kill it, and toxicroak cannot do much to milotic in return. what player in their right mind would keep a milotic in against a moltres with sunny day up? and what does a passho houndoom do? survives one hit of surf than hit back with an attack to weak to even score a clean KO?
also, my 'baseless opinion' is shared by a large amount of UU players, and has been brought up several times, its not like i'm spamming 'toxicroak for BL' or something thats unheard of just because i got swept once by it. i'm talking about something that just dominates the meta, and until it gets the boot to BL or something from OU drops, it will remain that way. everyone knows the case against milotic, so i feel like its unnecessary to explain it. also, i know you have a lot of experience in this forum, and i don't mean to be disrespectful, but i would appreciate it if you didn't cloud this thread with you're minimodding, when the smogon staff recognizes you as a mod, than i will too.

I'm quite sure the mods will share the same sentiment, that is don't post one liners without backing them up. If a lot of other UU players share the same "I think Milotic needs to be banned", then there's no point for you to say it either, since it's just spewing out crap everyone already knows. Now to your arguments: Toxicroak uses Milotic as setup fodder unless your Milotic is using HP Psychic. He can Nasty Plot up, Swords Dance up, and Milotic can't do crap. Bulky DD Altaria can take weak Ice Beams fired from bulky Milotic and DD up and Roost off damage until Milotic can't wall it any more. Passho Houndoom NPs as Milotic comes, 2HKOs Milotic while taking a Surf.
