And with 5 votes, Rapture. takes home the win this week! Congratulations!

I decided to go with a semi-controversial mon this week. This particular mon has only been getting better as the metagame progresses with its amazing bulk and "unique" typing (to NU it is unique lmao). I'm talking about...

sliggoo.gif

Sliggoo @ Eviolite
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Outrage

Submissions end on Friday. Have fun guys! n_n

Omastar @ Leftovers / Shuca Berry
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam / Icy Wind
- Toxic Spikes / Spikes
- Stealth Rock

Steelix+Sliggoo is something a lot people like as a pair but i honestly prefer these two just due to the amount of things Omastar can do for Sliggoo that Steelix can't

Typing - Omastars nice Rock/Water typing gives it an advantage over steelix in various ways such as taking resisting strong physical attacking moves like Normal,Poison,Flying and also resisting Ice which helps out against Jynx. However it also helps with that Omastar is threatened by with common weaknesses to Electric+Grass this invites in a lot of checks towards Omastar which gives Sliggoo an easy chance to get in but it also keeps its status of being checked by fire types due to the coverage most have on hand in HP Grass/Thunderbolt.

Hazard Game - This is especially why i prefer this thing the fact it gets all the damaging hazards lets you fit both mons on Hazard-Stack,Balance,Bulky Offense and even Semi-Stall thanks to Stealth Rock+Spikes/Toxic Spikes.

Other aspects such as scald burns are nice but the other two reasons are just so awesome from my time with these two

skuntank.gif

Skuntank @ Expert Belt
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 72 HP / 232 Atk / 60 SpA / 144 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Fire Blast
- Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt

Skuntank is a pretty nice partner for Sliggoo, luring in one of its biggest threats in Steelix, and 2HKOing with Fire Blast. Skunk also beats all the fairies which would otherwise hard wall Sliggoo, i.e Mega-Audino, Clefairy, notably netting a guaranteed 3HKO on Audino. Sliggoo also hates Toxic Spikes, and thus Skuntank can either prevent them with Taunt, or just come in and absorb them. Overall a really solid partnership.

quagsire.gif

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Curse
- Scald
- Recover
- Earthquake
Curse Hype!. Quagsire is a good partner for sliggoo since quag really apreaciates the grass imunity that sliggoo has, it also counters Steelix which is one of sliggods main counter. It also can 1v1 non grass knot mega audino which is also a huge problem to sliggoo and is a nice knock off absorber, Quagire is also able to beat common set up sweepers that try to set up on sliggoo like gurdurr and malamar. This core does have flaws, like ice types, sawk and shiftry. But besides that its a pretty solid core

Probopass @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Taunt / Volt Switch

Probo may not be the most splashable mon out there, but it's certainly a sweet partner for Sliggoo. Probo traps Steel types (specifically Steelix) that would otherwise give Sliggoo trouble, while also beating every fairy type in the tier with ease with the combination of Taunt + Flash Cannon. Probo can also chew strong Ice type attacks directed at Sliggoo with ease, and set up Stealth Rock for the team which is also neat.

252+ SpA Probopass Earth Power vs. 244 HP / 128 SpD Steelix: 180-212 (51.1 - 60.2%) -- 89.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
136+ Atk Steelix Heavy Slam (40 BP) vs. 172 HP / 0 Def Probopass: 36-43 (11.8 - 14.1%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252+ SpA Choice Specs Refrigerate Aurorus Hyper Voice vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Probopass: 92-108 (30.2 - 35.5%) -- 33.6% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Jynx Ice Beam vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Probopass: 48-57 (15.7 - 18.7%) -- possible 6HKO
Also 100 posts *_*

Scyther @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Wing Attack
- Brick Break
- Knock Off

Banded Scyther is so overlooked imo. it's really strong and surprises normal switch-ins to it with it's coverage.
Brick Break is for Aurorus mainly, as it's one of the few things that beats Sliggoo.
Knock Off is key, as it gets rid of recovery on steel-types, most importantly Steelix. Steelix without lefties is unable to beat Sliggoo unless it has Roar or gets a lot of lucky crits.
oh and Scyther is also a switchinto Banded CCs from Sawk

Weezing @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sludge Bomb
- Taunt
- Toxic Spikes/Pain Split

Taking a more defensive approach, Sliggoo has found it onto teams to check pokemon such as Magmortar, Sceptile and general special attackers like Mesprit and Rotom. I considered what pokemon needs that support from Sliggoo in a defensive core while also checking the mons that Sliggoo can't. Weezing struggles vs the mons previously mentioned and checks fighting types like Sawk, Hariyama and other physical attackers which, even though the Sliggoo set mentioned has curse, can knock off the eviolite and heavily threaten it.

With a three way tie, I had to break the tie, so congrats to ~Eternally and his Skuntank submission.

This week, I decided to go with a BW favorite with a really fun set...

charizard.gif

Charizard
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Swords Dance

Submissions end Friday. Have fun n_n

Rip Omastar not a single vote was given

Claydol @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Psyshock
- Earth Power
- Shadow Ball

Spin is zards best-friend and Claydol is too while sharing a water weakness the two do compliment each other well with Claydol providing an electric immunity and resistance to rock. It also puts pressure on hazard setters itself against the likes of Steelix or Rhydon and provides team support with its other useful resistances.

Zard itself assists in its heavy grass and bug resistance and spreading burns with Will-O-Wisp allowing Claydol more switch in opportunities against said rockers (which now know your acro -sigh- showing items)

hitmonchan.png

Hitmonchan (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Foresight

This set is really cool and a sick partner for SD Zard. Besides breaking through bulky Rock and Steel types and spinning away Stealth Rock like standard Hitmonchan, this set also takes care of Rotom, one of the best answers to SD Zard. Basically, click Foresight as they switch into Rotom, and choose to either get off a free Rapid Spin or do absurd damage with Close Combat. Lum Berry allows Chan to eat a burn from Rotom no problem, and better switch into pokemon such as Lanturn which annoy Zard as well.

252+ Atk Hitmonchan Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom: 229-271 (75.3 - 89.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Iron Fist Hitmonchan Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom: 93-109 (30.5 - 35.8%) -- 40.2% chance to 3HKO

shiftry.png

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Knock Off
- Leaf Storm
- Sucker Punch
- Defog

So this is the standard Shiftry set, but you don't really need anything special for excellent synergy with Charizard. Shiftry's Knock Off removes passive recovery on bulkier mons that Charizard would like to try to whittle/set up on, and Sucker Punch provides a safety net against some of the faster threats in the tier that Charizard can't quite reach. Most important though, is Leaf Storm and Defog. Leaf Storm lets Shiftry break apart this Charizard set's most common checks. Last but not least is Defog, which allows Shiftry to remove hazards in order to keep Charizard healthy. Not many calcs to throw down because they all seem rather obvious, so I'll just close by thanking you guys for reading.

Cryogonal @ Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Freeze-Dry
- Recover

Cryogonal is a great partner for Bulky SD Zard, being able to spin away hazards faster than anything else in the tier. Recover and Cryogonals respectable special bulk give it the longevity to spin more than once, which is a trait Zard appreciates greatly. Furthermore, with Ice Beam and Freeze-Dry, Cryogonal can break through bulky Water and Ground types that annoy Charizard, e.g Quagsire, Mantine and Lanturn.
