Project OM Mashup Megathread

Camove Chaos Update

Our suspect tour has ended with 3/5 eligible players voting for or against including Drought, Drizzle, Chlorophyll, and Protosynthesis in the tier. The results are as follows:

The true winner of the weather tours was Sand. The council preemptively banned Heat and Damp rock, so that Sun and Rain teams weren't quite as strong. However, that resulted in no Rain ream victories, one Sun team victory, one Snow team victory, and many more Sand team victories. We are glad to reintroduce Drizzle and Drought back into the tier.

The council also took the time during the suspect tour to pin point what things in Camove were most oppressive, and once we found them, we used near the entirety of the suspect timeline to discuss their merits and detriments to the tier.

Brief overview of the reasonings. Mega Bee had no switch-ins and could easily prep for all its checks. Marshadow could 2hko everything that didn't resist all of it's possible stabs of water, dragon, fighting, ice, and ground. Salt Cure putting a timer on every mon, being used by every mon, and often on every mon made it kind of impossible to play with. Mega Sceptile is a special Mega Bee that cannot be killed as easily. Smooth Rock makes Sand sweep everything. Sneasler is Mega Bee but pretty much can be used on any terrain team. Tapu Koko made Electric Terrains team incredibly strong because it is always utility and often incredibly strong via having any move. Zama has legendary stats and a free item, like Marshadow except it can run any physical set. ok good night love y'all.

Hello, the STAAAB council finally got itself out of the grave with a brand new tier, and have now elected to restrict Rising Voltage!

With the advent of Hadron Engine and pokemon such as Sandy Shocks, Electric types have a major bonus in power that was unheard of in prior generations. The stacking of Electric Terrain, 1.3x SpA, and 2x the power on the grounded opponent means you absolutely needed an immunity or else it was going to do severe damage.

Now without further ado, please welcome pannu to the council! We’re glad to have you on board!

A bit late but our new spotlight is Pokebilities Mix and Mega! This is a mashup between Pokebilities and Mix and Mega, and how it works is your chosen ability in the teambuilder gets replaced by the Mega ability, but your other base abilities are retained (currently even if it's native Mega). If a Pokemon only has one ability, then it will be the same as it is in Mix and Mega.
Example:
:ss/Cinderace:
Cinderace @ Lucarionite
Ability: Blaze
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Pyro Ball
- Gunk Shot
- Court Change

Cinderace has Blaze and Libero before Mega, and after it Mega evolves, it will have Adaptability and Libero.
With all the fun ideas like the combination of Blue Orb or Red Orb with a speed boosting ability or simply Pokemon with good base ability like Toxapex and Slowbro getting better, I'm excited to see how this develops!
Here's a funny team I made that almost worked in a room tour:
:breloom::toxapex::cinderace::tsareena::hariyama::ursaring:- Toxic Spikes + Court Change
The team's idea is to make sure Toxic Spikes is on your side for teammates like Ursaring and Hariyama to take advantage of, with Tsareena acts as priority control against Dragonite and Arcanine. There might be some changes to be made, but it isn't actually that bad.

With CAPvergence ending as spotlight, be sure to still check out the CAPvergence tour as it progresses, the meta is still getting developed! When the tour concludes, I hope the meta ends in a stable spot, after which I'll try to get sample teams up! In the mean time, special thanks to The Number Man for his team!

National Dex Convergence Pokebilites Hub

What is Convergence Pokebilites?: Convergence Pokebilities is a National Dex mashup between Convergence and Pokebilities. This means that the pokemon shares a movepool and abiltiy list of all the pokemon with the exact same type (ei. Charizard and Talonflame share but not Charizard and Torkoal) and all of their released abilities are active. This means a Charizard could converge gale wings from Talonflame and still have Solar Power and Blaze.

Council:
:mimikyu: TheTrueLtaker [Leader]
:jigglypuff: Hiusi Guy
:budew: BandedBodyPress

Ruleset and Banlist:
Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
Evasion Clause: A Pokemon may not have either Double Team or Minimize in its moveset.
Sleep Moves Clause: Bans all moves that induce sleep.
Endless Battle Clause: Players cannot intentionally prevent an opponent from being able to end the game without forfeiting.
Two Ability Clause: No more than two Pokemon on the same team may not share an ability. This does not apply to abilities granted by Pokebilities.
Two Regenerator Clause: No more than two Pokemon per team may have the ability Regenerator.

These abilities are banned and can not be converged and native users are also banned.

FurScalesBANDNBBANBAN3-1 BAN

Fur Coat and Ice Scales are now restricted in Pokebilities AAA!

If you played AAA during the time period when FurScales was legal, you'll understand immediately why. For those that don't know the reason, you can view this explanation from Siamato here but the outcome was still the same. In summary, many strong set-up sweepers, like Gholdengo, Volcarona, and even Corviknight, could simply run Fur Coat or Ice Scales to almost completely remove almost any counterplay on one attacking side while boosting the other. However, the development of Mold Breaker as an anti-meta offensive ability really made this all the more a clear issue with the pair. Attackers like Chien-Pao and Azumarill, along with Basculin naturally, could use Mold Breaker to bypass common defensive Fur Coat and Ice Scales Pokemon like Garganacl and Corviknight to force sacrifices for simply otherwise being a better option against the noticeably much stronger meta. While this was healthy when countering FurScales set-up Pokemon, this just simply wasn't the case for defensive FurScales Pokemon. Except not really, because Ability Shield ignores Mold Breaker entirely. Quite simply, this level of restriction is not healthy and is reminiscent of the Magnet Pull conundrum of past gens, and so is gone.

Thousand ArrowsBANBANBan 2-0
StoutlandBANBANBan 2-0

Thousand Arrows and Stoutland have been banned!
Garchomp was well known as a very big menace in the tier and using Thousand Arrows as it's main attacking move allowed it to run 3 status moves as the only things that could really stop it was mono steel with earth eater. Apart from that there was no real answer as many chomp sets were different as some ran toxic to and others ran screech to beat magic guard and unaware respectively. Thousand Arrows was banned over chomp because it was viewed that the same thing would have been run with either flygon or zygarde-10%.

Stoutland is an interesting case here as by itself its not very broken. However when you consider that one of the best mons in the meta is regen Gigalith it a picture of how broken it truly can become starts to appear. In sand Stoutland is next to unbeatable using either guts or technician to shred through teams. Scrappy also allows Stoutland to be uneffected by intimidates that would slow down other sand rushers/gut users while also being able to hit ghosts with facade/tail slap which really only gives it two "switch-in types" being rock and steel. which still takes a hefty amount of damage on the switch and can die to a close combat afterwards. And due to the fact that we can not restrict in this tier we choose to ban Stoutland.

Guts and Pincurchin have been banned!

Guts has been a problem in this meta as when combined with either quick feet or a weather boosting abilty (sometimes even both) it allowed a pokemon to completely wipe through another pokemons team. Some of the stronger guts users were so good because they were fast and couldn't be intimidated due to either scrappy or defiant usally leading to a clean wipe of the opponents team. As a result guts has been decided as too strong for the tier and has been banned.

Pincurchin gave every mono electric type electric surge and combined with the coverage given to them from silvally very few pokemon could tank a rising voltage unless they had chansey level bulk. This constituted many lighting rod or volt absorb pokemon for some teams to even have a chance against these pokemon and so it was deemed unhealthy for the tier and is now banned.

Gigalith may not have been banned but it will be on our radar in cause it makes sand teams unbearable and due to the removal of electric surge on most pokemon it will most likely do even better in this tier. And since Stoutland was mostly banned due to it's usage of guts it will be unbanned.

Ndpokeconvergence players when every normal has access to toxic boost:

Id say that the more pressing matter inn the meta rn is terastall. Terastall, like in every meta is fairly broken. While the value of giving extra coverage is less important with the expanded movepools, its ability to further boost your power with tera into the same typing is not. This is a meta where you can easily stack dmg amp abilities to deal insane amounts of damage, the last thing this meta needs is to add an extra adapt boost to random breakers

Blacephalon and Dracozolt and been banned and Magearna, Palafin and Zygarde have been unbanned!

:blacephalon:
Blacephalon has been a menace with it's usage of eruption or torch song combined with beast boost allowing it to sweep through many teams. It's scarf variants allowed it to beat some faster mons that would normally check it and going life orb or heavy duty boots allowed it to run psyshock to beat av pex. Unaware Blissey/Chansey and regen Gigalith were some of the few mons that could truly wall Blacephalon (if we don't count flash fire Garganacl)

:dracozolt:
Speaking of regen Gigalith a low blow to sand has been made. Dracozolt only really gets two things from convergence but they were some of the best things it could have gotten. Getting mold breaker from Mega Ampharos only ground types can stop it from spamming bolt beak under gigalith's oppressive sand. However just being immune to bolt beak isn't enough because Mega Ampharos also gifted Dracozolt with ice punch allowing it 2hko Gliscor and Lando-t after an intimidate on the switch in.

As the pokemon getting unbanned after looking at our defensive answers for some pokemon we decided that Palafin, Magearna, and Zygarde should be fine in the current meta game.

Nihilslave's Better BH Exploration Notes I

As is well known to maybe only myself that Gen 9 BH is in one of the worst formes BH can ever be. Indefinite setups, furscales, stupidly powerful abilities, altogether with literally nothing fun just destroyed my interest in it. And actually I don't think the council can and do play an important role here since they can't cook when there's no meat offered by gamefreak.

That being said my choice is to try some BH Mashups formats (and also others, will write about them in other threads) myself. It turns out any of these formats is at least 10x more fun than vanilla Gen 9 BH. I'll show you some.

All of the following formats are playable on my personal server.

1686450011587.png

The mechanic of fortemons here is slightly different from the official one, where I try my best to make everything effective and stackable, such as hydro steam's power boost under sun.
The unbanned things are here mainly because they were not banned when the format is last played.

Thank god Poison Heal is banned by vanilla BH this gen so that I can ban it here smoothly unlike in Gen 8. If you have ever played ffa you will know it's a very stally meta. And the case is even more severe in ffa bh. Ceaseless Edge, Salt Cure, Infernal Parade, and Corrosive Gas are the 4 representative moves in this meta. However playing with 3 good friends is fun enough to compensate the bore in game-playing. (Also everything good in vanilla bh is mid here so when u hate 9 bh u love ffa bh automatically.)

The idea is you can put Anything into Item/Ability Slot. If it's an attack, it works as a forte; if it's a status move, it works as a trademark; if it's an item or an ability, it works as usual. A thing works no matter which slot it is in.
This format is the upgraded version of forte bh. I used to think forte bh is fun, but no longer do when I tried the ND MIA BH. It's challenging to build teams tho. Let me show you a bit more sample sets.

Camove Chaos Update

Hey yall, its been a second. First off, we banned Ceaseless Edge and Take Heart. Both these moves are insanely useful on any team, but stall and bulky offense benefitted from them much more. Those team archetypes are very strong, and those moves are uniquely strong on them.

Ceaseless EdgeBanBanBanDNBBanBan (4-1)
Take HeartBanBanBanBanBanBan (5-0)
Terrain ExtenderAbstainKeepAbstainAbstainBanDNB (1-1)

Second off, Ceaseless isn't actually banned. A special thanks to Sheeplol for doing 90% of the work, but we coded camove with restricted moves.

https://pastebin.com/rky4GSst

The moves that are restricted are the following: Bolt Beak, Ceaseless Edge, No Retreat, Population Bomb, Quiver Dance, Shift Gear, Surging Strikes, Tail Glow, Thousand Arrows, Triple Arrow, V-Create, Victory Dance, and Wicked Blow. Any Pokemon that learns those moves will legally have them in the code above. The code is very lengthy as it is, so if these moves get banned there is a possibility they're replaced with other currently banned moves. Such examples are Fishous Rend, Lumina Crash, Salt Cure, Fillet Away, Double Iron Bash, and Boomburst.

We are currently looking out for

  • :Urshifu: Both Urshifu forms.
  • :Frosmoth::Volcarona::Venomoth: These QD users.
  • :Maushold: Maushold. While you're used to seeing it with Tidy Up, it can also opt for DDance and Coil.
  • :Victini: Sun is already a strong offensive team type, and Victini goes right back to firing off STAB V-Create, but can now also opt for STAB Bolt Strike, STAB Precipice Blade, and Dragon Dance.
  • :Manaphy::Xurkitree: Supreme stall eating options.
  • :Dracozolt::Arctozolt: Sand just got a massive buff, and Snow still benefits from having Chilly Reception and Icy Rock. There's now a snow sweeper not named Cetitan.
While we don't see these as particularly viable, Hisuian Samurott, Falinks, Hisuian Lilligant, and Shift Gear users all benefit greatly from this.

Hi everyone, we've made a few updates to PokeAAA, most notably keeping it up to date with AAA bans.

Kingambit, Great Tusk, and Gholdengo are banned due to being just as powerful and centralizing as they are in AAA, but with a significant power increase at no opportunity cost thanks to their innate abilities.

Lastly, the list of restricted ability combinations has been updated to include the following:
  • Drought and Protosynthesis
  • Electric Surge and Quark Drive
Allowing Pokemon to greatly increase their speed with no drawbacks is not healthy, and while Drought and Electric Surge are weaker than Orichalcum Pulse and Hadron Engine, their speed-boosting potential still makes them rather uncompetitive. The two remaining ways to double one's speed, Snow Warning + Slush Rush and Sand Stream + Sand Rush, currently remain legal due to a lack of strong abusers.

252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Inteleon Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Toxapex: 122-146 (40.2 - 48.1%) -- 51.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Inteleon Muddy Water vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Gigalith in Sand: 179-213 (47.8 - 56.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Inteleon Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Clodsire: 234-276 (50.4 - 59.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Gigalith is the polar opposite of Inteleon. Gigalith is good due to it having sand stream base and it having access to regen from klawf. While regirock and garganacl both have much better stats than gigalith neither of them can run regen+sand stream which is what makes gigalith the more common choice. Sturdy is also helpful in the rare case where gigalith would have gotten ohko'd it allows it to switch out and freely regain some health. Its movepool is pretty impressive as well as it can run regenvest with knock uturn and salt cure which completely walls most of the tiers speical attackers. Gigalith is also an amazing setter for sand allowing sand rush pokemon near infinite sand support.
252 SpA Meloetta Expanding Force (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Gigalith: 93-111 (24.8 - 29.6%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Zeraora Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Gigalith in Sand: 88-107 (23.5 - 28.6%) -- 94.4% chance to 4HKO
252 SpA Manectric-Mega Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Gigalith in Sand: 102-120 (27.2 - 32%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

POKEAAABILITIES UPDATE:
Pokebilities AAA is implementing all of the bans that had previously gone through in Almost Any Ability, as well as unbanning Regieleki and Palafin. Everything banned in Almost Any Ability becomes more powerful when given access to base abilities from Pokebilities, and PokeAAA will be following through on all post-home AAA bans. Regieleki and Palafin are banned in Pokebilities due to the presence of terrastalization, but they are balanced both in AAA and in PokeAAA, where they can struggle to break through their checks and counters. Note that Palafin can utilize an AAA ability while holding Ability Shield.

Chien-Pao, Enamorus, Gengar, Gholdengo, Hariyama, Hoopa-Unbound, Magearna, Sneasler, Spectrier, Ursaluna, Urshifu-SS, Urshifu-RS, Walking Wake, Zamazenta Crowned, Zoroark-Hisui, Good as Gold, and Revival Blessing are now banned!
The OP has been updated with new tournament codes and challenge codes, and sample teams will be available shortly after these bans. Until next time!

STAAABMONS AND GODLY POWER UPDATE:

Both tiers are being rebuilt!

In order to keep up to date, STAAAB will be now implementing a banlist proposal submitted by The Number Man seen here alongside a Rage Fist ban because Ghost types have more options to keep themselves alive as a result of getting almost any ability.

Godly Power will be starting almost completely from scratch as a result of Godly Gift getting more than 2 viable gods. All of the bans are updated in the hub as a fusion of Godly Gift with Shared Power's banlist, albeit with tweaks.

Furthermore: I will be retiring from STAAAB council (with Eggs taking over the hub), and Eggs will be retiring from GGSP council. We hope to see you play them soon!

Camove Chaos Update
Due to some things becoming apparently overbearing offensively, and NDOU making some new bans, the camove council has made some new bans and unbans.

Hi everyone, quick update! Pokebilities AAA is being featured in Tours Plaza Premiere League V, so expect to see some rapid metagame development soon!

In anticipation of week one of TPPV, the council has decided to ban Zapdos-Galar. Thanks to the raw power of its STAB moves, Zapdos-G is able to blow through any wall in the tier lacking Fluffy. Unlike AAA, Zadpos-G cannot be checked by Intimidate users thanks to Defiant, and Corviknight is easily torn apart thanks to the interaction of Thunderous Kick -> Mirror Armor -> Defiant.

Additionally, we have a quick mechanics update! Previously in Pokebilities AAA, Dauntless Shield did not expire after one use when given by Pokebilities. Thanks to a recent update, it now properly works, and as a result Zamazenta-Crowned is now legal in Pokebilities AAA. Note that like in AAA, it is unable to obtain an additional ability.
