POKEBILITIES AAA UPDATE

Magnezone is now Banned! Thanks to a fantastic typing and base abilities, Magnezone was able to bully other steel types and special walls, clearing the way for teammates like Meowscarada and Skeledirge. Immunity abilities such as Well-Baked Body and Earth Eater allowed Magnezone to trap every Steel type in the format, while Magic Guard Steel Beam was able to 2HKO important special walls like Clodsire. These qualities have lead us to deem Magnezone broken, instead of Magnet Pull. However, if the other user Magneton proves to be uncompetitive, Magnet Pull itself could be banned from the format entirely.

I figured I'd drop Camove Regen spam so others can also spam it in roomtours since it actually works fairly well in most matchups.

https://pokepast.es/94eba62f763603b1

- Water/Ground on Amoonguss for weather (watch out for Freeze-Dry/Solar Beam and whatever though) and eating special hits at least neutrally
- Poison/Dark on Slowking to eat special hits neutrally (& special Ground moves are pretty weak in general so you don't have to worry about those much). You get hit kinda hard by Secret Sword but it doesn't OHKO you unless the user's at +2 (+3 if the mon doesn't hit that hard) or more. STAB Knock/Mortal Spin makes Poison/Dark really easy to run too
- Water/Ground Alomomola because you check pretty much every physical mon bar Flower Trick users. Will-O-Wisp AND Strength Sap because that lets you beat almost any physical mon not running Grass attacks
- Scarf Tornadus-T might seem weird, but it's actually pretty good speed control since you outspeed pretty much every Tidy Up user even if they're boosted. STAB Electro Drift/Dragon Energy actually hit hard enough too, especially with Modest. I used Steam Eruption a lot but I'm not sure if it's optimal, Trick might be better overall. U-turn over Volt Switch because no-immunity pivoting abuses Regenerator better. Electric/Dragon lets you come in on random Electric/Grass/Fire/Water moves most of the time, though in a lotta cases you die if you predict wrong so
- Steel/Flying Tangrowth because I didn't know what else to use. Beak Blast for Bitter Blade/Bolt Strike stuff and Anchor Shot as a filler move but I guess you trap slow Regenerator pivots. You can probably change this one's typing if you want
- Ghost/Dark Prankster Grimmsnarl because 6 Regen would just get broken through in time, and its typing lets you come in on Secret Sword/weaker physical hits (kinda hurts if you predict wrong though). Destiny Bond + Parting Shot is good in general, one of Haze/Encore to mess with sweepers once you come in (Haze beats random Power Trip Blazikens, while Encore lets you take advantage of free turns to switch in and out of Regenerator teammates), and Heal Order for recovery

unban ho-oh so i can run it as well

e: here's a version with Rhyperior because Mold Breaker Electric moves are kinda annoying https://pokepast.es/7eea0a4838bb523d
e2: and Coalossal https://pokepast.es/f4b0ab935ab36d28 (also apparently torn-t/johto slowking are ur'ed pls fix)

:lucarionite:LC Mix and Mega has BANNED Lucarionite!:lucarionite:
ClasYoru97Roldski32Result
LucarioniteBANBANAbstain2-0-1 BAN

Perhaps one of the more surprising bans for those who haven't played the tier, Lucarionite lets nearly every special attacker turn into an unwallable nightmare, with two major examples being Gastly and Hisuian Voltorb. For reference, one of the bulkiest Pokemon in the tier, Dunsparce, is 2HKOed by Lucarionite Gastly's Sludge Bomb and Voltorb's Thunderbolt into Leaf Storm has a 70% chance (45/64) to KO, both from full HP. These are not the only cases, but rather just two. Not only does this also not take into account any status chances that come with these Pokemon's moves but it also comes at no major defensive deficit too, as your Defense stat is actually buffed by 1-2 points instead of not touched or even decreased, unlike the Absolite and Diancite stones. As a result, we voted on whether or not it should stay legal or not, and have ultimately decided to ban it from the tier.

As for other LCMnM resources, they are currently in the works and should be released soon in preparation for DLC 1 and the inclusion of past staples like Gligar and Munchlax. This will include sample teams, a VR, and a full setpedia to help with building.

Eggs

some days, you just can't get rid of an egg
Hi everyone, following week 2 of TPP, it has become clear that the metagame would be better off without a few problematic pokemon and mechanics.

Magnet Pull, Basculin, Basculegion, and Meowscarada are now banned!

:Magnemite::Magneton::Magnezone:Following Magnezone's ban last week, Magneton immediately took its place as a trapper that enabled dangerous physical breakers, only now slightly less effective. It's pretty clear that Magnet Pull is uncompetitive in a format so heavily reliant on Steel types in defensive cores. As of now, Pokemon with Magnet Pull as a base ability cannot be used.

:Basculin::Basculegion: Both of these pokemon do the same thing: abuse the absurd combination of Mold Breaker and Adaptability alongside other offensive abilities to deal absurd amounts of damage and ignoring the majority of defensive abilities. Basculin is faster and takes no recoil from Head Smash and Wave Crash, while Basculegion formes can go mixed and often benefit from Swift Swim. Pokemon with water immunities are currently locked into running Ability Shield to deal with these monsters, and the tier will be better off without them.

:meowscarada: Thanks to Protean, Meowscarada is far more powerful than its AAA counterpart. In PokeAAA, Meowscarada can easily deal with its most important check, Corviknight, with Thunderpunch, and it can surprise Dark and Fighting type switch-ins to Knock Off with Play Rough. The cat's extremely high damage output and ability to bypass its checks make it too much for this format.

a little late (again, oops...) but Ursaluna is now restricted in STABmons Mix and Mega!
ClasWMARResult
UrsalunaBANBAN2-0 BAN

Ursaluna was a borderline threat from day one, with its Red Orb Bulk Up, Tidy Up, and Swords Dance sets letting it become extremely threatening yet overwhelmingly bulky wallbreaker and sweeper. However, it always had some viable switch-ins and counters like Latiasite Toxapex, Blue Orb Flying-types, and quite ironically itself. However, this all changed when more sets were developed. Pinsirite variants removed the most common answer in Latiasite Toxapex in one Aerilate-boosted Double-Edge after a Swords Dance boost, and most Blue Orb Flying-types simply cannot handle that level of power. The only proper "counter" left was Iron Defense Body Press Blue Orb Corviknight, which has its own issues. As a result, it is now banned from the tier, and is effective this week (week 3) in Tours Plaza Premiere.

Camove Chaos Update!!!
I am very excited to introduce perhaps the most influential Camove Chaos Update. We here at Camove Inc. have tried to develop a way to positively and fairly impact the meta, while not making teambuilding more restrictive that's why:

BBPClasTTLTEggsTHRDasocksGamerResult
Regenerator22Abstain222Abstain2 Regen Clause

We are adding 2 Regen Clause!
The consensus has been that Regenerator has been an issue since the beginning of camove, all the way back in gen 8. This should have been added a long time ago.

In other news Kingambit and Ursaluna were unbanned because ndou banned them. Both very underutilized mons, so we look forward to seeing how they're used in the future.

Two Interesting OMMs I've Been Developing

1- Alphabet Soup :Avalugg:-:Zacian-Crowned:

Alphabet Soup is a mashup of Alphabet Cup, Frantic Fusions, Pokebilities, and Scalemons. If you've been in the OMM room for the past week, chances are you've seen it being played as a tour.

You're probably wondering how Frantic Fusions and Scalemons function together, and its really simple! You just use /scale on your pokemon,
1693830979440.png

And then /fuse,
1693831016245.png

And you add the stats together for your fusion. It's that easy! And because it's pokebilities, it has access to all of the base's natural abilities + any one of the fusions. And with Alphabet Cup, you get access to moves starting with the first letter of the base's (and it's prevolution's) names. So you could end up with a final pokemon looking like this. Final base stats are 40/98/95/170/108/228.

2- Type Chaos :Torkoal::Basculegion::Slither Wing:

Type Chaos is the older of the two. It's a combination of Tera Donation, Camomons, Revelationmons, Bonus Type, and STABmons. This is intimidating to build for so I'll try to explain how they interact.

STABmons gives you access to moves from you and your prevolution's types. But the rest interact differently. The first Pokemon out works differently from the other members of your team.

:ss/Torkoal:
flying

Torkoal @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Drought
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Body Press (Flying)
- Stealth Rock
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rapid Spin

Because of Tera Donation, if this Torkoal is the first pokemon sent out, it will be mono flying type. Because of revelationmons, the first move will turn into the tera type. All other moves stay the same type.

Next, is how every other Pokemon on your team will function. The first two moves determine your first two types. Your first two moves stay the same type. Your third type will be THIS pokemon's bonus type, and its third move will change to that type. Your fourth type is determined by the first pokemon you send out's bonus type, and it will change the fourth move to this. So in practice, and if Torkoal was sent out first, this would be the result:

:ss/Slither Wing:
Fighting
/
Ground

Slither Wing @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
- U-turn (Fire)
- First Impression (Flying)

There is a specific situation to where the types don't work out like this. If your first two moves are the same type, if your bonus type matches any of your other types, or your tera donation is the same type as your other types. As an example:

:ss/Basculegion:

Sadly due to several reasons WMAR and Clas have left the SnM council which leaves us at a precarious position as it is an official mashup with no council at ALL. As one of the new Project Leaders (wow its the first post about it!) I, PociekMociek, promote myself - PociekMociek as provisory council for this tier. As the first action there was a survey for all TPP players and here are the results.

1693770318676.png

Dragonite is a very powerful metagame presense but 3/4th of the responses decided it is not broken but just an amazing pokemon.

1693770808672.png

Lumina Crash is one of the more controversial moves letting psychic types do impressive feats but most people believe it to be balanced. The council will monitor specific Lumina Crash abusers as their attributes most likely make them broken.
1693771125624.png

Ursaluna was a controversial ban with a loud minority defending it, most of the players decided it's better kept banned.

1693770962846.png

Power Trip was generally the main straw that broke Demon Zarude, it was chosen over banning specific abusers to not ban a significant otherwise healthy portion of the metagame as such it is now BANNED from the tier.

1693771193120.png

The main beneficiary of Ursaluna's restriction - Zacian-C, even with the bear an amazing pokemon with one of the best defensive typing, access to Moonlight, more than great attacking stats and a skillful 30% confusion rate on its main attacking STAB is now also BANNED.

Tl;dr

Zacian-C Banned
Rusted sword actually fully banned instead of a nonworking restriction (god bless no gentlemans)

STABmons Mix and Mega Update!
We had yet another voting sheet and the results are in!
Hoopa-Unbound - 2/8 Restrict votes - Not restricted
Meloetta - 2/6 Restrict votes - Not restricted
Triple Arrows - 5/7 Restrict votes - Restricted - this move has insane luck built in with significant crit rate, flinch rate and def drop range, the lopsidedness of the RNG factor made it broken
Gigaton Hammer - 5/6 Restrict votes - Restricted - 160 bp makes every steel type simply do unholy things like OHKO resists after a boost and the plethora of viable steel types requiring different checks additionally pushes it over the edge
1694373568578.png
(image not related)
Glaive Rush - 3/8 Restrict votes - Not restricted
Shoutouts to a certain someone who voted restrict on meloetta then added "unban meloetta" in other informations

Other information!

We over at OMM™ Industries have talked with TPP hosts and decided that next week (11-17th) SnM and PokeAAA will be tierlocked to Pre-DLC then we will continue into the DLC meta. This means that next two weeks will not have a SnM voting sheet.
PokeAAA also decided that for DLC meta they will inherit some of the AAA unbans - Slaking, Great Tusk and Gengar.
SnM might also have a slate for the DLC meta with unbans.

What's Alphabet Soup?
Alphabet Soup is a mashup of Alphabet Cup, Frantic Fusions, Pokebilities, and Scalemons.

What does all that mean?
Great question! Scalemons is a mod where every Pokemon's stats are scaled to ~600 BST. If you !scale Marill, it will look like this:
1699487379132.png

Frantic Fusion: Pokémon nicknamed after another Pokémon get their stats buffed by 1/4 of that Pokémon's stats, barring HP, and access to one of their abilities. And because Frantic Fusions is applied after Scalemons, by fusing Marill with Haxorus, you add 1/4th of Kyurem-Black's stats applied to post-scale Marill.
1703184547317.png

Pokebilities will make all of Marill's abilities active, while giving you the option of selecting any one of Kyurem-Black's abilities.

Alphabet Cup gives you access to any move with which they share a starting letter, including prevos.

You could get a pokemon looking like this:

(Base stats are 70/100/172/88/169/140)

POST-DLC POKEAAABILITIES UPDATE

Hi everyone, Eggs here on behalf of the PokeAAA council! DLC1 introduced a ton of cool stuff with lots of potential for this format, but right off the bat we could tell two things needed to go; Clefable and Conkeldurr are now banned from PokeAAA!

:clefable: Clefable, to no one's surprise, is broken in PokeAAA again! Having Magic Guard and Unaware at no opportunity cost makes it insanely hard to deal with, especially when combined with defensive abilities like Fluffy, Stamina, and Tablets of Ruin. Calm Mind sets are able to steamroll teams with little-to-no counterplay, and as a result, we have been forced to ban this stupid pink blob for the second generation in a row.

:conkeldurr: Once again, Conkeldurr has no switch-ins, because it gets Guts, Iron Fist, and Sheer Force for free! These abilities alone allow it to break through nearly every wall in the tier, and that's before other offensive abilities like Toxic Boost, Sword of Ruin, and Quick Feet let Conkeldurr find a way around the few Pokemon able to stand up to it.

DLC1 has given us quite a few new toys to play with -- I highly suggest checking out the new frontier of PokeAAA!

Quick SnM update!
:kingambit: With no Gigaton Hammer around, Christopher Gambitus should not be broken anymore so it was freed!
:ursaluna-bm: :wo: Ursaluna-Blood-Moon got freed from the shadow realm of *Ursaluna.
:dragonite: :kommo-o: The ability to escape their dragon typing , sheer stupidity of an omniboost on powerful Tough Claws / Adaptability attackers or ESpeed Abusers and the fact CSoul already got restriction in STAB makes the CSoul restrict easy to do.

:Breloom: Initially banned too fast due to its great abilities and high attack. With DLC, the power level has gone way up.

:Sneasler: Serene Grace Dire Claw can easily disable a team, and how it does it has too much chance. We had to restrict Dire Claw earlier this gen for exactly this reason, but it's still too overbearing when just on Sneasler.

:Snom::Greavard: These were implemented due to having fluffy and ice scales, which are overbearing on stall. The only reason you'd ever use them is to get more free fluffy and ice scales.

:Regieleki: When council was just me, I forgot they nerfed Transistor. lol

Unban (2/3)DNU (3/3)Unban (3/3)Ban (3/3)Unrestrict (3/3)Unban (3/3)

:Calyrex-Shadow: Unbanned due to being a subpar base. It is still an excellent fusion for stats. But we’ve realized that abilities can be far more important than stats majority of the time.

:Flareon: Flareon has very little switch-ins. But now that poison heal is out of the picture, Flareon has very little longevity. Between rock weaknesses, poor defenses and speed, and typically using Protean to avoid being poisoned, Flareon is very frail.

:Ogerpon-Hearthflame: Ogerpon H is an offensive monster. It has a great offensive type, great natural move selection, and is a free slot on fire teams. Mold Breaker comes naturally on it, so it forces Marill, the most important mon in the tier, to run Ability Shield to protect from an Orichalcum Solar Blade, which is also why it runs Knock Off. Even Skeledirge has to be wary because it often runs Swords Dance alongside it. Its speed is something to be desired, but that is usually patched up by teammates like Lilligant-Hisui and Typhlosion-Hisui.

:Weezing-Galar: Neutralizing Gas is wonky. Weird. Hopefully single ability clause makes it easier to work with.

:Greavard::Snom: Single Ability Clause is now implemented due to tiering policy. Snom and Greavard are being unbanned because of this. Regen clause is being changed to be 1 per team.

Well we forgot to handle the elephants in the room, but I'm here on behalf of PokeAAA council to announce: Darkrai and Shaymin-Sky are now banned from PokeAAA.

:darkrai: Darkrai doesn't really get anything from Pokebilities, however it doesn't need to with its power and speed. Just like in AAA, Sheer Force Life Orb and Beads of Ruin have enough power to blow past most defensive walls, and it still has decent bulk to take hits when needed.

:Shaymin-Sky: Shaymin-Sky is already obnoxious to deal with in normal play thanks to its ability to flinch down answers with Air Slash or dropping their Special Defense with Seed Flare, but now it can get an extra ability to further limit counterplays. Tinted Lens makes resists like Hoodra no longer reliable, Dazzling catches priority users off guard, and even other options like Magic Guard and Gale Wings.
It's already too late now so these two will be legal this week in TPP, but they will be banned starting next week.

Since we never actually officially voted on the unbans in PokeAAA (Walking Wake, Great Tusk, Slaking and Gengar), here it is now:
Screenshot_2023-09-24-21-12-20-62_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

Great Tusk, Gengar and Slaking were unbanned but Walking Wake stayed banned. Hopefully this clears all the confusion. The Ursaluna-Blood Moon and Enamorus-Therian bans were an oversight due to not specifying base formes, they are now also unbanned. The code is already updated on PS.
Edit: While we are at it, Costar has been banned in AAA Doubles. It basically played a big role in other previously banned strategies like Rattled, Justified, Stamina and now Water Compaction, Shell Smash and Weakness Policy, forcing every team to run Prankster Haze to have any chance of fighting back.

Quick SnM update again!
:ursaluna-bloodmoon: This thing shouldn't've seen the light of day
:meloetta: And this thing has been problematic since home.
:kommo-o: :noivern: :ursaluna-bloodmoon: Boomburst and Blood Moon (move) are also on the chopping block

But really though - the addition of Red Orb made these two special normals outrageously good wall breakers. With a practically 150 BP STAB Weather Ball and a 140 BP STAB Boomburst as well as huge arsenal utility options between Ground STAB / Lumina Crash, Growth, 75% healing in Morning Sun, Calm Mind (/Take Heart) etc. ROrb was only the main abuser, -Ate Sets required different answers due to Boomburst getting an significant 1.3x boost and an addition of a better Flying/Fairy typing.
While I hoped they didn't go in :zoroark-hisui:'s footsteps, the lack of a viable Physical Set was not enough to keep them balanced.
By quick calculations they combined over 100% Usage Rate in this TPP week and most games came down to Boomburst slugfests because there is no such thing as a splashable answer - Blissey lacks pivoting and loses unless it runs it's own CM, Transform or other similar niche options. This alone should be enough justification for their restriction.
Both abusers as well as both problematic moves were restricted because deciding which one is the more broken part is impossible and mons such as Indeedee already seen usage as Boomburst spammers (Blood Moon is literally just Boomburst, the recharge does not have an impact on it's viability. )
I just hope :pyroar: or :indeedee: have significant downsides in stats / typing that make them more manageable and I won't have to restrict them? Judgment? Red Orb as a Stone?
tl;dr
Ursaluna-Blood-Moon, Meloetta Restricted from holding stones, Boomburst / Blood Moon restricted to natural learners.
1693771433214.png

Why those two are in watchlist in particular, regarding Alphabet Soup?
Sorry for getting back so late.

They both do the same things, just in different ways. Rising Voltage in Electric Terrain. We have a lack of good ground types to absorb Electric moves, and most people are content with using Grass types instead. They have also received a buff by Rillaboom being less popular, which used to be the default Raichu counter and was on most teams.

Kanto Raichu uses Hadron Engine and Miraidon, and Alola Raichu uses anything from Basculegion F to Regieleki or Iron Bundle. Banning Raichu Alola also makes Electric Terrain teams way weaker, as other powerful special attackers like Magnemite would have to run something else.

Light Rock was a typo. It meant to say Light Ball.

This is my cry for help. I spent a couple hours trying to figure out how these OMMs do things stat wise. Godly Gift+Mix and Mega+Scalemons+Reevolution. Here's what we know.

Godly Gift+Mix and Mega: Stone stat changes are applied first, before being replaced by the Godly Gift stat change.

Godly Gift+Scalemons: Godly Gift is applied, and the Pokemon is scaled to 600 BST using that new stat

Godly Gift+Reevolution: 2(Pokemon's stats after GG)-Previous evolution. Just Godly Gift for things without a previous evolution.

Mix and Mega+Scalemons: First you have to figure out what the scale is for the Pokemon without a stone boost. That boost is still applied after mix and mega, meaning you'll likely be over 600 BST if you're using a stone that adds to your stats.

Mix and Mega+Reevolution: 2(Mnm stats)-previous evolution. Just mnm for things without a previous evolution.

Scalemons+Reevolution: 2(Scaled stats)-previous evolution. Just scalemons for things without a previous evolution.

Godly Gift+Mix and Mega+Reevolution: 2(ggmnm stats)-previous evolution. Just ggmnm for things without a previous evolution.

Godly Gift+Mix and Mega+Scalemons: I am also having trouble with this. This seems to be the origin of the problem. I can't seem to figure out how the stats are coming together. My hypothesis is that it takes scale the way ggscale does it (including the gg stats like its the regular BST) and then using the scale multiplier on the stats after mnm. The issue is the stats are always a little off. They seem like they're always just a tad bit over. I have a Breloom which should have base 92 speed, which is 220 without any EVs, but the Breloom has 228. Which would be base 96 speed.

This is why I'm reaching out for help. I would love to figure this out but I think I'm missing something.

Ultimega!!!
MnM+Pokébilities+Revalationmons+Cross Evolution
How this would work could be a bit confusing, so I will explain. Whatever your base ability was before Mega evolving will be replaced by the Mega ability. Your first 1-2 moves will mirror your typing, just like in normal Revalationmons, and Cross Evolution works like normal.
This would still be Ubers based, with regular MnM/Cross Evolution restrictions and bans.
Example Set:
Arcanine (Munchlax) @ Hearthflame Mask
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Extreme Speed (Fire)
- Earthquake
- Crunch
Yep, amazing. Of course this set has to stay at 50% HP until it takes a hit, but it is worth it. Still not fully developed, but DM me if you want to help me with this!
