I've always thought that Meganium looked more like a dinosaur than a lizard, especially when you put it next to the ice fossil from Kalos.

I was thinking Grass/Fairy since it seems to fit the bill with the antenna and flower.
yes i think that fairy type will fit Meganium the most. he will gain many usefull resistence and one immnue.
i hope that his movepool will become bigger.

It still didn't make the cut sadly enough. Sent that in through my first nomination and it never made it in :I
Really? That is a shame.

Personally I'm hopping we get Water/Dragon Ferraligatr, that way we'd have one different starter dragon for each gen and for each starter type; as for Typlosion I'd like to get a non-Fire/Fighting starter that isn't weak to SR, so I'm hopping it could become Fire/Ground.

If that happens, I think it should get boosts in either Attack, Special Attack, or Speed. Not to mention that regardless of fire still resisting it, that it has earthquake, which I hope it keeps.

When are we likely to find out about stats of the new megas? I'm just wondering because I can't remember if we got early information with XY, and I don't want to try Masuda Method a Treecko until I know if I should go mixed, pure special etc. Thinking Hasty/Naive is the best bet though as it could bait Charizard Y fairly well with Rock Slide, or Heatran with EQ.

If they do a Mega Flygon, but not a Mega Salamence, I will be pissed. Flygon will never be viable when Garchomp's an option, because they are too similar, and their main difference forces Flygon to keep it's ability and not get some game changer. I'd love to see something like Sand Stream Flygon or whatever, but Salamence would be much better.

All Salamence needs is something to make it noteworthy over Charizard. A 10 point boost to speed would do that. A 700 BST means monster offenses, and Moxie and Intimidate are the two best abilities for base pokemon, so if MegaMence got something new like Sheer Force, he'd be one of the best pokemon in the entire game.

Honestly, Mega Salamence is guarenteed hype, so I don't see why they wouldn't, other than some self imposed limit on the number of megas.

That aint even close to a guarantee I think even as much as I hope. Just got to wait and see.

.....................and hope it gets Dry Skin for whatever reason. Parched Camel's much?
Solid Rock or Solar Power > Dry Skin. Do you realy think it would enjoy a Fire weakness?

You guys have reached the point where everything you are discussing is 100% speculation. Tie discussion to things we know or the thread gets locked again until we get more information.
We know that the paintings could be on Granite cave, which could mean early mega stones.

Has anyone actually find the trademark list that contains Flygon/ Metagross/ Salamence?
If not, then you don't have enough evidence to talk about them.
Plain speculation

Yeah, fairy is the only type(other than dragon) that would work for the grass dinasaur. It would lose the bug weakness and gain a dark and fighting resistance+dragon immunity. Still would be an inferior venasaur though. Unless it gets an amazing ability and/or a grass or fairy boomburst.....

Solid Rock or Solar Power > Dry Skin. Do you realy think it would enjoy a Fire weakness?

it would still have a fire resist, just a slightly less powerful one. dry skin is only a 1.25x multiplier to fire moves, so camerupt would take 0.625x fire damage. enticing it to operate in the sun with solar power gives it more vulnerability to fire moves than dry skin.

but even if it lost the fire resist entirely, i think a water immunity would more than make up for it.

No, but it's more than pure speculation. My list here:
None of those reasons are good enough to give them megas over a dozen other good pokemon. Wish lists are fine, but since that's not what we do here, I'd prefer to hear why those 2 before say, Altaria.

My personal list of pokes that make sense is:

Kanto:
Machamp
Golem (other trade to evolve pokes got one)
Dragonite (cuz other psuedos got one)

Johto:
Starters (cuz other starters got one)
Skarmory

Hoenn:
Ludicolo
Shiftry (version exclusives like Pinsir and Heracross)
Milotic (cuz gyarados)
Salamence
Metagross (Psuedos)

Sinnoh:
Starters
Gallade (Gardevoir)

Unova:
Starters
ANYONE! (cuz it needs the rep)

Kalos:
none, at least until gen 7 (these pokemon haven't established their image yet, and giving them megas would completely erase the originals. Diancie was obviously always meant to have a mega, and that's her thing, but the rest I'd prefer not)

I'm sure most of these won't come with ORAS, and some others will, but these pokes are the ones that are most likely imo.
lists all the pokes it's logical to assume will get megas sometime in the future. Here's the reasoning I used to justify talking about them:

Gallade and Milotic are the most reasonable because they are commonly referred to as counterparts of Gardevoir and Gyarados, who both received megas. We know from the Sableye announcement that they will be giving pokemon who's counterparts received megas in X and Y megas of their own, so it's only logical to assume that Gallade and Milotic are high on the list of candidates as well. Discussing how the megas would work is only a natural progression of this.

The Psuedos follow similar logic. While I don't find it logical to assume Dragonite and Hydreigon will get megas, returning to their home region is literally the best opportunity GF will ever have to introduce Salamence's and Metagross's megas. While there's not a lot of evidence confirming it, things like Steven potentially being champion give us reason to discuss them.

Besides the confirmed ones, the starters probably won't happen though, at least not with ORAS.

And the others are based on popularity and serve the purpose of fillers. Discussing those would be pure speculation, so I simply haven't.

I've said many times Flygon doesn't make sense, so there's no point to discuss it, but the ones I just mentioned do, and it can't hurt to talk about them.

Seems cool but what do the generation 2 starters have to do with Hoenn at all.

Nothing.

But Birch gave you one of the Johto starters once you completed the Dex (National ou Regional? can't recall) in Emerald. So there's that.

On one thing he's right; Ice, defensively speaking, is held back by his non existing resistances. I don't get why GF didn't buff this too other than Dark, don't they realize that a lot of fan favourites (hell, even a mega) are ignored competitively because of how much Ice sucks, at least in defence?

They are. Wulfric himself says Water is better, but he won't change his Gym type because he's too stubborn.

Game Freak absolutely DOESN'T CARE about Ice. That's Ice gimmick.

At least there's Mega Abomasnow, though being the one single ice type with a mega.
Still better than none though.

So
Mart being seperated from Center
Yay or Nay

I actually like this since I'm so used to it. In Y I still find myself going into the Pokemon Center with the intention of selling something, but then something tells me "oops, wrong building," and I walk out. I get confused for a bit, then I remember that the Mart is inside the Center.

the problem with Meganium is that his movepool is pretty small,if he will not get any moves during the new games he should stay at the defensive spot trying to wall resistence moves,i hope the buffs of him will be at his both defences, since his defences are higher than normal venusaur.

Of course that we need to see the ability he will get but i hope gamefreak will make his Mega evolution a fairy type to, if they are making him one.

Mega evolution seems to be everwhere, every pokemon now will get one? it looks now very weird i think.

as i said,i will buy Alpha Saphirre,i always liked Kyogre and i doesnt want to imagine his stats grow even bigger in his new transformation of primal evolution,if that the name of it.

I really hope it's regional, since the National Pokédex requires you to have the Johto starters, which would make the other scenario a bit of a catch-22.

Also, it's important to note that Wulfric doesn't explicitly say that the Water-type is better; rather, he's talking about people's flexible or rigid personalities. However, I can definitely see the implication.
